Our family moved to Turlock recently and I was recommended to this place by another attorney who had gone there for years. A girl by the name of Kristina answered the phone and told me that "we aren't booking until September" but wouldn't offer me any dates. It was very odd. I never said that the date in September were an issue, in fact, that was fine with me. It felt as though she was just being lazy and didn't want to gather new patient info. I purchased some glasses and due to them not having the correct frame size I had to come back once they were delivered to get the correct measurement of my eyes for the prescription. When I arrived the lady who assisted me could not find my glasses even thought they called me and said they were in. They were almost about to send me on my away but I was demanding that because I lived far away I could not just easily come back. So they had to facetime the person that was supposed to have my glasses. After about 10-15 minutes of waiting they finally found them. Fast forward, my glasses are finally ready and the previous week I had gone to go pick up my glasses on Thursday which supposedly they stay open till 7pm only to arrive to this sign at the door. However, today before driving to the location I called ahead of time which the outside representative(s) they contract to take calls answered and told me that the office just had informed that they closed for the rest of the night. Which at this point I'm just fed up because if a company is going to have posted hours they should adhere to them versus just leaving when they want because those "late hours" are what some people may relay on to be able to pick up their glasses. In the end even though I haven't picked up my glasses yet which if it's terrible service at that time too I'll edit the review. However this is the last time I or my mother will ever be using this office which in my case is a lost of business since I always buy glasses one/twice a year due to my changing prescriptions and I get the high end brands. Only reason I tried this office was simply due to the fact that my usual place couldn't schedule me in to search for glasses. But yeah if you want to risk having people waste your time and their staff to have a bad attitude by all means come here & if you want better service search somewhere else. read more

I am incredibly grateful to have found Dr. Andre. I was experiencing some issues with my right eye. I had cataract surgery last year, I assumed that I was experiencing something related to that. My first visit left more questions because nothing could be detected, the office was searching for a specialist to refer me to when my symptoms became worse. On a Monday I was seen again and Dr. Andre was finally able to see that I suffered a retinal detachment. The staff worked hard to get me an emergency appointment for the retinal care center. My condition in less than week worsened to the point I had 20% vision left in my eye. The next day I was in surgery. Dr. Andre is an incredibly caring human and Doctor, he did everything in his power to get me in touch with the right people. Thank you. read more

If i could give 0 stars i Honestly would. Have to been to the eye dr in two years as in dr andres office. I go in there to get my glasses fixed and they said it's broken which they clearly aren't. I got it fixed at another optometrist. I get they wanted me to spend more money with them which i would of gotten another pair hence i needed an eye apt as well. I go to book the apt and I'm told i have a $100 fee to pay for missed apt. They said they called and texted me but never got anything from them. There is nothing legally of me signing anything to this. Natasha the office manager was very rude ! Said she couldn't favor me over others and I'd still be charged $100 I've been going here for over 20 years! I will never recommend this place to anyone and they lost my business. DO NOT GO HERE! Customer service is terrible. I received damaged glasses and they told me to hold on to them until they could order the same ones. I was then told they couldn't replace them because they've been discontinued and recommended fixing the lens with car paint. I was told to go in to drop off glasses. I called before going to drop off the damaged glasses and asked if I could select a new frame when I have more time, they said that would be fine. Showed you up and they said that they couldn't take their damaged frames until I select a new frame. There weren't any frames that I liked, so they said that I could come back when I have more time, but I must make a selection within the 30 day of initial pick up. I asked for a refund and they refused to refund and take the glasses. They were very insulting and disrespectful saying we're all adults, should be able to take care of our things, and they can't 'babysit' the defective glasses they sold me. Won't go back even to exchange defective glasses. Do not go here. Terrible customer service. The worst optometrist office. read more

Unable to get contacts and I have been trying to work with this office for 3 months. I had just seen the doctor so I didn't think I needed appointment. I couldn't get an answer so I booked an appointment thinking seeing the doctor would help. Dr. Andre is an awesome doctor but if you cannot get your product or care without booking yet another appointment its time to move on. I was told to book an appointment to follow up on the appointment that I had almost 2 months ago because he was not answering the notes that staff left on his desk. I guess I will live without contracts until I can see a completely different doctor. I just returned from their office, I was told a visit would cost me $80.00. Two months later I received a bill for $245.00 They would not except my medi supplement insurance, they dont accept HMO.None of this was explained prior to being seen. I've always been seen in timely fashion, treated very well and left with a cared for feeling. I loved this office as I have been here for more than a decade. Recently my doctor left and it seems to be going completely downhill.... what did it for me is I have been trying to pick up my contacts but for two days they closed an hour earlier than their official hours as stated on their website. My parents have been going to this office for decades. Recently they missed an appointment and was told a charge of $100 would be imposed. I called and spoke to the office manager Natasha and tried to explain there was no reminders to see if they would make an exception. She was very rude and didn't want to hear me out. I asked to speak to Dr. Hartman directly and at first she said ok but then advised me that he doesn't talk to patients directly. I stated that they would be loosing us as a customer which didn't seem to bother her. She did not at any point try to convince us to stay. Her attitude was just unacceptable. I had called ahead to make sure all the staff would be wearing a mask and I was told that not all of the staff likes to wear a mask. This was after the State mandates for masks. I told them that my medical Dr advised me not to go if they were not complying. I am extremely vulnerable as I have a compromised immune system. I relayed this to the woman on the phone and she said for my appointment they would accommodate me with the masks. I arrived and the head receptionist was not wearing one but she left soon after so I was not too worried. However, I had to ask Dr to put on a mask when he came into my room. He did not put on the mask until he started the exam (2" from my face) but while sitting 2 ft away he did not wear the mask. He proceeded in giving me his opinion that masks don't help and are a political statement. I was appalled that I was hearing this in a medical office. It is a little difficult to get an appointment, but I can see why! I have been to both Dr. Medina and Dr. Andre. They are both thorough and very professional. I am never embarrassed to ask questions because they are so unassuming. Also, the rest of the staff, from the women who perform the preliminary testing to the frame stylists, are extremely patient and welcoming. My whole family now sees doctors at Turlock Family Vision. I cannot say enough good things about Turlock Family Vision. I have been going to Dr. Andre since he took over the practice for Dr. Makin. I have been wearing glasses since the third grade I suffer from lazy eye among other things. Every appointment explains thoroughly how my eyesight has progressed since the year before. I trust him wholeheartedly with the care of my sight. I have also seen Dr. Hartman whose knowledge and friendly demeanor is very welcoming. Dr. Andre is amazing! I've been coming to him for 5 years and my dad over 20! He is fast with his appointments when you're in the lobby. But you will honestly feel as though he has spent hours assessing you. His work is accurate, clean, and stress free! Eyes are so important-- you drive with them, see with them, and some may argue you "eat" with them first! So, I only trust my greatest feature to Dr. Curt Andre! Called two times, first time I was told that they will call me back gave them my information and they never called back ( this was a Friday) . I have tried ordering glasses from this place twice. First time, took 3 weeks and they still weren't ready so I cancelled it. Second time, it took 4 weeks and I had to call to know they were ready. I got half a refund which was nice but, just get it right to begin with. Of course they are nice when you order them then rude when you tell them you are upset about their ineptitude. The receptionists get defensive quickly. The doctors are nice but their staff's customer service is bad. They definitely lost my business. read more

I have always been a fan and all I have ever bought were Versace glasses and never had a issue. My latest trip to the eye doctor I fell in love with the Jimmy Choo glitter arm frames. I have had them one week and yes I dropped them (accidents do happen), I did not realize what cheep martial that was used to make these frames and the top of both eyes the frame is scuffed up. I took the back in to a authorized dealer my eye doctor, Turlock Family Vision 711 E Hawkeye Ave Ste 1, Turlock, CA 95380 only to be told sorry nothing we can do for you, the company will not cover or replace them. You can buy another pair...REALLY out of pocket I paid after my insurance $400. I am so disappointed one with the Turlock Family Vision that I have been going to for years and also the POOR quality of Jimm Choo's line/ frames. My three children and my husband have yearly eye exams and we are always happy to come in. My family is helped by Dr. Hartman, he is patient with the kids (and my husband), relates to them well and always has time to answer all my questions thoroughly. The ladies at the office always take their time to ensure we find a pair of glasses that meets my children's and husband's vision needs. A warning: do NOT buy glasses from this office. I have had several problems over the years but today, I am through with them. I ordered a pair of glasses and was told they would be ready in a week. I called a week later--nope, not yet. I called after two weeks and was told it would take 3-4 weeks. I tried to cancel, but only a manager could do that, and no manager will be in the office for another week. I would say I was lied to. Though Dr. Medina was excellent, I was quite put off by the shoddy customer service of some of the administrative staff. First of all a number of the older admin staff (female mostly) have had that eyelid surgery which tends to give them that surprised look which is rather disconcerting. Second they barely acknowledge you when you walk in the door. Third they have an almost cult like adherence to the "up sell" manifesto. Every time a product is suggested it is a pricey up sell. And the alternative is delivered with that surprised+slightly horrified look as though one is a fool for trying to suggest a cheaper option. Spectacular customer service, we feel like this business is our family! My son Mateo was diagnosed with pediatric eye cancer at age 29 months and it was Dr. Hartman that ultimately saved his life by identifying that his retina was completely ruined and he was blind in his right eye when the hospital had told me the night before that Mateos eye was fine. They referred us to the proper specialists who went on to help us fight to save Mateos life over the next four years from one of the most aggressive cases of metastatic retinoblastoma UCSF cancer center had ever seen. Fast forward to present day, Mateo is a thriving 10 year old who with one eye requires special eyewear and hearing aids but loves to play sports. TFV goes above and beyond to help our family keep Mateo in special glasses and ready to put his best foot forward safely. To say the feeling is customer oriented is an understatement. Dr. Medina did something very lovely for us this week to help Mateo get ready for basketball season and in talking with the staff we were reminiscing about Mateo as a little guy and it inspired me to post. I have been going here for a few years. Dr. Hartman is the man and I was always in and out. However, lately the service from others is less than stellar. They seem annoyed you even came in. They don't really help you find glasses when it comes to buy . They just want you to get the most expensive pair and get the transition. They just threw a few in front of me and the lady barely even looked at me. I had previously liked this place so just went with it out of trust. Ended up getting a pretty terrible pair. I ended up having to go to Target for an adjustment since the staff here told me there was nothing they could do. I even had to buy a few things on Amazon just so the glasses can fit. A pain but better than buying a new pair without insurance help. For some of us, our glasses are imperative so to just have service that is worried about getting you to spend big people that do not seem interested (or friendly), and then aren't willing to rectify the situation does not make this a place to go.
