Walked in yesterday for the first time in this restaurant. It was pretty packed . Got a menu and ordered to go . It was a Sunday and they had great lunch special deal . I got the letter C combo it was one chicken enchilada and I added a cup of albóndiga soup for $3 so total of $12 for a combo and soup not too bad . The food was delicious they also have a salsa bar . I told her I would be sitting at the bar area and she didn't give me a problem about it, she brought out my food I sat and took the first bite and the worst waiter there "Eric" came to me and said that side is dine in only I told him I was dining in, clearly about to eat my burrito and he said I have to take it to the other side. I told him but I want to sit here. Agian he said this is for dine in only again I was already taking bites of my burrito at the table he said I can get up and go to the other side this is dine in only. My experiences have been mixed. The shrimp fajitas were a favorite of mine but I haven't ordered it in a while because I started having problems with them way overcooking the shrimp to where they're rubbery. One time I called about it and they offered to remake it, but this time they way undercooked the veggies. I ended up throwing them in a pan at home and carmelizing them, and then it was good. There's been some inconsistency. I will compliment their beans, the carne asada, and the carnitas tacos (it's best to have them crisp them up for you). The ground beef tacos, which are on special for $2 on Tuesdays, are pretty good too. It's been mostly good, but recently I ordered breakfast for the first time. I had long heard that the breakfast is really good there, and I finally was trying it. It was so disappointing. I would not get breakfast here ever again. My wife ordered the chilaquiles, then changed her mind to the migas, but for some reason they gave us the chilaquiles. We had never tried this dish before, and would never want it again. It was just soggy tortilla mush drowning in sauce. I didn't like the sauce (enchilada sauce). There was egg on top and a smattering of cheese, but not enough to impact the taste. The balance was way off. $13 for tortilla and sauce, mostly. I got the daily special which was eggs, potatoes, sausage patties, and biscuits with gravy. Honestly, any of the other breakfast places around was better. I got two little frozen sausage patties which were okay but nothing to write home about. For the eggs I specified that I wanted scrambled EASY, and that's the most important thing to me, but they nuked them which ruined everything- I hate it when they are cooked into oblivion. Breakfast potatoes- they weren't crispy or seasoned, so they just tasted like undercooked flavorless potato slices, and it's ironic given that the eggs were OVERcooked. Finally, I was hoping to salvage things with the biscuits and gravy which is a favorite of mine. I ALMOST didn't finish eating these, which has never happened to me. I usually will lick the carton if nobody is looking. The gravy was totally flavorless. It wasn't like a sausage gravy or anything. Just bland white gravy, out of a can I assume. $25 just right down the drain. Lesson learned. There was nothing in their breakfast that would make me want to get it again. Denny's I feel is better all around as far as traditional breakfast. They make the eggs how I want them, and the food is just better, and I consider Denny's to be the low bar. Came here on a Sunday after working all morning. We got there and got seated almost immediately at 2pm. We got there and they were in the middle of the morning shift leaving and the afternoon shift getting there. The host was great at communicating to us that it would take 5-10 min before we got seated because of this. Once we got seated service was great. Their beer selection is great. Great to find out that CE is a part of another restaurant I love to stop in at when I'm visiting my beloved (VIPs) When she told me that they are under the same management it was a done deal! We had been at a conference most of the morning and then to a very long memorial!!! And to say that we were hungry would have been an understatement. My sweetness pulled CE up on Yelp and boom we were right around the corner! When we first walked in we were greeted with such kindness by all the staff! I love that when you can walk in and feel like staying awhile all because of your first contact with the person or people at the door. They can make you or break you. We were seated right away and placed our order. Baby had the Carnitas with bean and rice and I ordered the two chicken . The food came out so fast I thought they had it on speed dial Each of our meals were just delicious. And the different salsas that was available at the salsa bar was off the chain. I love salsa and the flavors were spot on. Something I learned on my Mexican side of the family about what salsa is supposed to taste like. It had my mouth on fire so I knew later on that night or early morning I was going to be burning again!! If you are looking for authentic Mexican food stop in you won't be disappointed unless you're a stick head and hard to please. If like to get your drank on there is also a full bar. Asked for waters for everyone knowing that's what everyone drinks and only got 3 waters for the people present. I tried to make it easy for the server getting them in advanced. Just the simple fact that my request was ignored is not good. Food was decent as it did its job, filled our stomachs. Nothing to brag to others about as my fries were old, cold and hard. Huge improvements with the food (can't speak for service as my two recent orders were via food delivery services). Twice recently, including today, I ordered the veggie burger and fries. I know, who would think that would be any good at a Mexican-style restaurant, so I was surprised too. Both times my veggie burger was prepared to perfection. My fries too, which included special instructions to be cooked well-done with NO added salt. Not long ago, veggie burgers from restaurants were very boring. It now appears that establishments are taking vegetarian/vegan business seriously because I have had some amazing burgers locally from several places. The one I had today might actually take the prize, and I have been a vegetarian for a long time so I have a lot of experience with these things. I seem to remember many years ago I was at a Carnitas at a different location, one of the newer ones, and was amazed then when I had the veggie burger, but it has definitely improved since then. Covid 19 did its worst on this place. It had been our favorite local eatery since we moved here in 2008. The food became very unpredictable, all the great wait staff left but 1 or 2, the new employees are aloof and very unfriendly, especially the woman who's name starts with "E". We actually refuse to sit in her station. The joy is gone from the place and obviously no one cares enough to properly train the staff & raise the morale. And be aware, we are certainly NOT alone in our review! I don't know a single friend or neighbor who doesn't agree. So sad. read more

Not worth it. High prices and bad service. The bartender Kathryn was rude and all customers at bar were saying she was overwhelmed. She forgot to put our order in and asks 25 min later if she took our order or not. She was talking back to customers when she started getting too stressed out. Favorite thing she said was " I don't usually make recommendations" when she was asked about tequila drinks. I used to come here a lot, but won't be returning. Has been our family restaurant for years. The menu and prices changed yet again. As of 4-9-23 lunch plates are only available Monday thru Friday until 3pm, and prices increased in those. The fajita plate is now 24.95. It's unfortunate that they do not realize that they have seniors who frequent their establishment that have fixed incomes. There is no senior menu or discount. This place seems to be busy on both sides, the express side and the Cantina. They're staff is always on the move and it doesn't seem like a dull moment. The restaurant seems like it has its regulars. We have been Patrons here for awhile, but tonight's visit was Horrible! Our Servers name was Darwin. He took our order, which was the Steak and Chicken Fajitas. When the order was up, he brought the meal to the table sizzling out of control. It splashed on my white shirt as well as on my arms and all over the table. Portions are great the price is kinda expensive but i guess the portion makes up for that we got these for plates plus 2 aguas frescas for $53+ flavor its pretty good salsa verde feels like its missing something but nonetheless its a good restaurant.
