The crispy beef taco was good size and nice and crunchy. The meat could have been a bit more seasoned. The salsa was okay, I like mine with more spice and flavor but I know it's good for others. I used to love this place a few years ago. Now it's gone very down hill. Service is horrible. They forget about you, forget to bring your food, forget your refills. The food has lost all it's flavor. The prices are pretty fair for what you get, and it's a great spot to enjoy a couple of margaritas together. I'm giving Carnitas Express a solid 5-star rating! If you stop by, definitely ask for Jenny, she is probably the best waitress ever. She's incredibly attentive and makes the whole dining experience that much better. What really impressed me about this place, though, was how they handled a mistake. They once messed up my order, which can happen anywhere, but it's how they fixed it that mattered. Because I had to drive back to pick up the correct items, they went ahead and gave me extra food to make up for the inconvenience. That kind of customer service is rare and really shows they care about their patrons. I've been meaning to leave a review for awhile because this place never misses! Amazing food, amazing service. It's consistently good and has been for years. We order a lot from them through grub hub and the order is always correct/neatly packed and timely. Who ever packs the to go order is very on top of it and thoughtful. They put a lil differential piece of food on each burrito to let you know what's inside. Example: a fry for Cali burrito. Large menu with lots of options including breakfast all day.. the service was also great as many reviews mentioned. A few areas to improve.. prob the worst margarita I have ever had.. it tasted bitter.. and although I always appreciate a military discount this is the first place I have seen where they only take it off the one persons entree and not the bill.. just kind of strange. I was going to eat at this place But I was using their restroom facilities. When coming in contact sitting on the commode. The commode seat almost made me fall on the floor. The seat cover was so non working. It could really hurt somebody. I approach the hosted. She stated that she a nobody. No concern or apologies. She said the manger on her lunch. I asked for the owner. He wasn't available. He wasn't in the establishment. . Then kid came over and had an attitude with me. He said he was just the dishwasher. The real dishwasher came and talk to me. They all seem to try to cover up what could happen if somebody serious hurt themselves from sitting on the broken seat cover. They showed no remorse or apologies from what could be serious law suit if they didn't do fix it. This is a place of business. They just wanted make excuses and give me the run around. This Carnitas Express is located in a strip mall, off Newport and Bradley. It serves huge portions of both food and drink. At Happy Hour their prices are almost 50% off and clearly is a hit with the local Sun City crowd. Btw, HH is between 3 to 6 pm Monday to Friday. In our opinion, it's a steal. The food is always delicious and served with a smile from all the staff and there's many people at Carnitas that always go beyond their duties to make our visit worth coming back for more. Every other items was sub-par - ground beef had zero flavor; tamale was gushy and inside looked like green baby food; enchilada sauce was uninspiring; Cadillac margarita was too strong without enough ice to tamp down the intense drink. We told our waiter about the issues. He could see I'd only eaten a bite from each item except the rice and beans, but he walked away and promptly returned with the bill. They didn't care. $80 for bad Mexican food and a hungry belly. They'll care when people stop eating there.
