Horrible experience. The food is overpriced for what they charge. Everything was cold and you could tell the food was microwaved. The vegetables all tasted like they came from a frozen bag. The ordering counter was subpar. There were no dine in utensils and when asked, they were all being "washed" and we were only given plastic takeout utensils. We were there for an hour and the metal spoon and forks were never restocked. The service is abysmal. The staff except for the bartender do not know how to handle customers. I tried to order an alcoholic drink and got declined for "looking young". I'm well beyond the age of 21 and I showed them my ID. Why would anyone ever bring a fake ID to drink at a Bushfire Kitchen in Menifee? Christ. However, I'm mostly annoyed at how avoidant the staff was about it. I waited for my drink, followed up, then they sheepishly explained to me that they "just can't give me the drink because I seem a bit young". That's fine. Just stop avoiding it. It's also not lost on me that a big factor of that is probably because of my ethnicity. On top of that, I had to inquire if they had an ID scanner and they said no. I was here reluctantly today (due to past experience) for a special event that included a free lunch. The service is abominable. The order-taker/cashier was like a deer in the headlights. I've noticed this every time I've been in there. It appears they go through many staff. The lack of service in this establishment is astonishing. The food runner was devoid of any kind of personality and was agitated that she had to bring food to the table and deliberately avoided questions that were asked. Not one staff member spent any effort speaking with the group to establish some rapport and adding to their customer base. Totally a missed opportunity and possibly the whole reason why they would entertain such meetings. This style of ordering is especially useful when you want to be sure everyone can pay for their items only, or if you have a group who would overall like to stay a while and have individuals come and go as they please. They have a decent amount of tables inside and on their patio which is dog friendly. I also really like that the bar is outdoor as well. The food is decent. We stopped here for lunch hoping for a great meal. While I loved the location and the spacious, clean atmosphere, the food was a mixed bag. We started with a 'Beef Empanada', which was excellent. However, I regretted switching from a burger to the 'Chimichurri Tri-Tip Plate'. The meat was bland and too pink for my liking, but the sides were the real issue: the mashed potatoes had an odd, burnt-rubber scent and a hard consistency, while the mac n cheese and bread were both too hard to enjoy (a disappointing menu choice for sure). On the bright side, the 'Thai Chicken Curry Bowl' was fresh and delicious. I also enjoyed their "Stubborn" soda station. Service was fast, and they have a great happy hour (7 days a week, 2-5 PM). The service was terrible! Waited 10 mins at least to order while other employees did nothing. Finally someone opened another register and took our order and I felt like we're bothering her. My salad sat in the window for 15 mins (at least) while the burger we ordered was made. Our food was brought out with no utensils. We asked for some and she returned with 2 forks but no napkins. Had to ask for napkins. The burger was charred and the fries were cold. My salad was blah. Maybe a 4 out of 10 for the food overall. I eat at Bush Fire frequently but this location was really off. We have eaten at the Brushfire Kitchen in Temecula before, but never at this one. We were very happy with this restaurant. We had the tri tip bowl with mashed potatoes and butternut squash. Since it was late we shared this dish. We were very happy that we did. It was delicious but very rich. We also had a lemonade which was better than most restaurants.
