One of the best meals we've had in Corona in a while -- Reunion Kitchen absolutely delivered. From the drinks to dessert, everything was excellent. I had a Grey Goose dirty martini, and it was made perfectly. The jalapeño burger, cooked medium, was excellent -- juicy, flavorful, and cooked exactly right. The fried chicken with gravy was also outstanding and had that perfect comfort-food feel. We started with the crab cakes, and they were easily one of the highlights of the meal. Absolutely outstanding. For dessert, we had the bread pudding, and it was incredible. Definitely worth saving room for. Great food, excellent drinks, and a really enjoyable overall experience. We ate at Reunion Kitchen + Drink at Dos Lagos this weekend. The food was actually pretty good, and we especially enjoyed the artichoke appetizer, which was amazing, as well as the specialty drinks. Unfortunately, the main issue was the customer service. I ordered a Diet Coke when we sat down, and it took about 15 minutes to arrive--even after I asked twice. The bigger issue was with our meal. My wife and I specifically asked for the gravy to be served on the side, but when our food arrived, the gravy had been poured all over it. We explained the mistake to our server, and they took it back to have it remade. Another 15 minutes or so later, we finally received the replacement meal. By that point, the other couple at our table was almost finished eating. Our server mentioned that he had only started working there the week before, so I don't want to put all of the blame on him. He was clearly still learning. However, this is also where I would expect the restaurant to step in when something goes wrong. What really bothered me was that when we received the bill, there was absolutely no acknowledgment of what had happened--no apology, no adjustment, nothing. Mistakes happen, and we weren't looking for a free dinner. But when a simple request is missed, your meal has to be remade, and you're left waiting while everyone else at the table is eating, a little acknowledgment from management would go a long way. Probably one of the worst experiences when dining out when it came to service. Appetizers were late to get to our table. Our artichoke sat under the heat lamp for a while before it came to our table. We had to ask a server to check on our Appetizers. The smash burger and the rosemary chicken were delicious, but unfortunately the biscuit was as hard as a rock. Second time at this restaurant as we were going to another concert at Dos Lagos. Started off with Chardonnay and for my meal I ordered the Brisket Sliders. My wife had the Coconut Shrimp with Sweet Potato Fries. I just ate the filling of the sliders as the buns were a bit too much, but it was delicious! The fries were outstanding and her shrimp were huge! We had two servers who were a "tag team", Brandon and Kimberly. Both were very professional and excellent! I came into reunion last Wednesday for the first time, Melissa was our server. My friends and I ordered appetizers, cocktails and entrees. The pretzel was one of the best appetizers I've had yet. (Per our servers suggestion). Cocktails were fantastic, the fish and chips were delicious. The hot towels at the end were a huge bonus. Lots of eye candy in this restaurant meaning everyone, men and women all the wait staff and anyone working there was very handsome or very attractive. Reunion is a go to spot for us in corona. We're here often but I wanted to highlight our most recent visit on a Monday night. We had a large party of about 16 + 4 kids. We went in a few weeks ago, made a reservation through Yelp. There were 2 in our party who were late... so you may want to mention to your guests to be sure they have selected the correct location on their GPS. Parking can be tricky on busy weekends so keep this in mind. Also their patio is nice and spacious for an evening out on the deck. Ambiance is very nice here and we had a lovely table in the alcove of the bar. However, on this day (a Sunday) our server was the bartender and I got the impression that he was at his wits end with us. I'm not sure if it was because our party trickled in or something else. Either way it was noticed (by me at least) my favorite dishes were: Artichoke Dip Avocado Wontons Asian Crispy Ribs Bread Pudding One person at our table order kept coming to the table wrong, where we finally just said it was ok. Went in for a work lunch not expecting much... and ended up having an amazing meal. Started with the onion soup, really good, I wish it had a bit more onions, it was still a great cup of soup. My friend and I stopped in at the Reunion Kitchen to check it out. The place is beautifully decorated, plenty of room between tables. Tables on the patio look good on a hot day like today, but we decided to sit inside to enjoy the A/C. Our server Maria was a darling, very friendly and accommodating. The occasion was our cherished daughter's 28th birthday dinner party. We hadn't seen her since we helped her move into her new apartment a few weeks ago, all of which made her choice of REUNION KITCHEN & DRINK a quite fitting establishment to fete this happy occasion. For starters, Reunion is quintessentially positioned, adjacent to one of the Dos Lagos (two lakes) referenced in the town center's namesake marketplace...a truly beautiful setting for all manner of weekend soirees! Despite the brisk, midday crowd, my bride and I were seated within a couple minutes. When Brianna and her BF Eli arrived ten minutes later we subsequently moved to a slightly larger table closer to the water. For starters we ordered the Poké and Brussel Sprouts. The former must've been good, 'cause my dining guests demolished that mofo in a succession of rapid fire hand to mouth motions. (Your favorite Yelp correspondent disdains nearly all manner of seafood). The Brussels sprouts were incredible! Sticky, crackling flavor bombs of cider vinegar, maple syrup, shallots, bacon and, I think, shishito peppers, all finely minced. For entrees, the girls went "I don't wanna lose my hourglass figure, lemme order the Citrus Salmon" and the fellas went straight Neanderthal- Choosing a pair of beefy sandos, a prime rib au jus for him and the OC Sourdough Burger for Yours Truly. Heads Up: Whatever you do, don't confuse the (requested) ranch dressing with the horseradish that accompanies the prime rib! They look exactly the same! Elijah made that mistake and the poor guy had the sniffles for the rest of his meal! Lol. My OC Sourdough is the brawnier cousin to the French Quarter Burger at Mimi's Cafe. Perfectly toasted sourdough with parmesan seared into its edges, slathered w/ Thousand Island, melted provolone, a thick 1/2 pound patty, onions, avocado, tomato + pickles. Pro Tip- Chuck those last two ingredients! All a tomato and pickles do a burger is make them wet! If you're not careful, you wind up crying whilst tryna hold your soggy Burger together with both mitts! So discard em or give em to your wife (who relishes every vegetable on earth). The service was mostly on point but with occasional misfire. Like having to ask for ranch dressing three times or waiting too long to bring our bill. We had a decent overall dining experience at Reunion Restaurant. The food was the highlight of the evening--everything we ordered was high quality, thoughtfully prepared, and the menu offered some creative, well-executed dishes that made the meal memorable. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the food. We dined on a Tuesday evening, and the restaurant appeared to be less than 50% full, making the service issues even more surprising. Our server was training a new employee during our visit, which made the overall experience even more concerning. Our courses came out of order, and when we asked about it, the wait staff blamed the kitchen rather than taking ownership of the issue. Regardless of where the breakdown occurred, it made for a disjointed dining experience. The cocktails were poured extremely heavy, which may appeal to some guests but felt unbalanced to us. After our dinner plates were cleared, dessert was brought out without anyone bringing us fresh utensils. After waiting, I ultimately had to get my own utensils so we could enjoy our dessert. The biggest disappointment was that I had noted on my reservation that we were celebrating my wife's birthday and also mentioned it to our server when we arrived, but it was never acknowledged. We weren't expecting anything complimentary--a simple "Happy Birthday" would have made the evening feel more personal and appropriate for the occasion. Seeing these service issues while a new employee was being trained left us wondering what standards are being emphasized for new staff. Based on our experience, it did not reflect the level of hospitality we would expect at a restaurant of this caliber. The kitchen is clearly doing an excellent job, and we'd return for the food. However, for a restaurant that positions itself as one of the premier dining destinations in town, the overall service experience fell well short of expectations. Management should take a close look at its service standards, front-of-house processes, and overall guest experience to ensure they align with the quality of the cuisine and the level of dining the restaurant aims to provide. read more
