Came here for breakfast and with a party of four. When we entered, it took a little to be greeted even though the restaurant was empty. The menu has an array of choices ranging from sugary dessert style pancakes, to different chilaquiles options. There are many coffee options and a few tea choices. Service here was fine, nothing to write home about. I ordered the fruit salad, and I had wanted it with cottage cheese since that was one of the options, and they said they had none and only had yogurt. I ended up getting the yogurt, but I found it odd that on a holiday weekend they wouldn't have all of the menu items. Two people in our group got chilaquiles- one rojo and one verde. They both felt like there wasn't enough sauce, egg, or guac. The presentation was nice, but it was dry. The last person in our group ordered The Journey pancakes, and while it was fun looking, it didn't taste special- it seems like a pancake that wants to go viral. Many of the pancakes came with ice cream, which I thought was odd for breakfast. Probably wouldn't be my first place I would think of going for breakfast or brunch, but I imagine it might be fun with a larger group. With that being said, they are unable to split a check even between two parties unless you do an even split, so be prepared for that. read more

Second time here... Ordered the Belgian waffles, that are supposed to be light, airy, crispy... got soggy cake like waffles. There was fresh fruit, and one of the blueberries was moldy. The first time was great, now, not really. It's a pass for me. read more

We went there recently for a work brunch, and although they weren't crowded, the service was horrible. It took about 15 minutes just to get our drinks, and the waitress never came back to check and see if we were ready to order. Finally, someone in our party had to fly her down to take our food order. A couple people in our party said the food was decent, but the rest were truly disappointed. The beans were cold. The steak was dry and literally tasted like beef jerky. The waitress never came back once to check on us provide any refills or anything until she dropped out the check at the end. I finally got this place out of my system. I was really craving madres for a while. My sister got a light white mocha latte and I got the Madres fall mimosas; green apple, pomegranate, & Tiffany. All tasted good my favorite flavor was pomegranate. My sister liked that one as well. It was very beautifully done and colorful. We came here to eat the yummy pancakes. She got the journey again and I wanted to try the Wilma. I honestly liked the journey way more. I shared the Birria Benedict. My sister really liked the beef. It was great, but I needed a little more flavor to the salad. It was bland, but I'm sure it's because the birria had so much flavor. I also enjoyed the salsa that came with it. They are both good, but the habanero was the best. It wasn't too overwhelming spicy. Madres brunch has a bunch of amazing qualities but fell short for me and my fiancée on a couple of culinary notes. The inside is absolutely beautiful... however me and my fiancée had our dogs and we called ahead to make sure they allowed them which they did but their patio has absolutely no covering... we ended up swapping with a couple who was outside and kinda had shade... the tables outside also looked very very worn... some or the edges were coming apart. So that ended up taking off a star. The service was actually really nice up until the end..our hostess was checking in on us and was great with our pups but I think her shift may have ended and no one came out to us after that. I had to go in to ask for our check. So that took off another star. The food was good but there were just some things that were off. The pickled onions just tasted like vinegar... we could tell there was not lemon or lime juice, sugar, salt etc and you need that when pickling. We also did not understand the sesame seeds on the food... it's a weird mix of Asian influences but did not fit. The mole was ok but it did not have the depth of flavor and my carne asada we definitely not cooked fresh... it seemed like it was pre cooked and left to rest. I usually like med rare on my steak but it was cooked all the way through and under seasoned. My cafe de olla was not too bad and overall I was hungry so I did finish my food. Also my grandmother would come down and clash me with a chankla if I did not finish my food lol. Overall there were some cultural influences that did not match with the food and it seems like there were sum cut corners that did not need to be taken. Me may go back and give it a shot due to maybe an off day of cooking so I would. It sway you from giving it a shot in hopes for your experience to be better. read more

I'm surprised this restaurant has good reviews. I came with my family for the first time. They sat us somewhat fast, which I thought was great until we ordered and the food took an hour to come out!! My eggs Benedict were fully cooked and not runny. My daughter's bacon & sausage were burnt chard! I saw this new spot had opened where Happy Crab Hot Pot used to be, and after checking out their Instagram with all the delicious looking food pics, I decided to give it a try. The inside is definitely Instagram-friendly with artsy painted walls, neon pink signs, and green leafy backdrops. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. I ordered the birria omelette with a side of beans, and my partner tried their new steak, jalapeño, and cheese croissant sandwich which came with some fried potatoes. For drinks, I went with the strawberry horchata and an iced latte. The presentation was on point, but the flavors didn't quite live up to the look. My birria omelette was pretty bland that I had to add extra salt and pepper just to make it enjoyable. The beans were just okay. The croissant sandwich was good overall but the steak could have been a little more tender and flavorful and barely had any fried potatoes. Drinks were solid, both the strawberry horchata and the latte were tasty. One thing to note: almost everything on the menu is $19 and up. Madres Brunch is such a gem! My friend and I came here for brunch and we were both so impressed. We each got lattes. I got mine hot, hers iced and they were both delicious and made perfectly. I ordered the birria omelette, and wow... so flavorful! The meat was tender and cooked just right, packed with flavor in every bite. More like a 3.5 but I'll round up. The food is ok, it's kinda pricey. Went for brunch with a couple gfs. $19-$25 dollars per plate. It's a very cute spot with lots of photo op fluorescent purple backdrops, and the paintings and murals around the whole place is also a nice touch. Our server Gina was also super sweet and helpful despite it being super busy and that's why I rounded my stars up. We got the chilaquiles, the salmon sandwich thing, and the birria sandwich. All were just ok. Idk if it just lacked more flavor or something, or if bc the service was super backed up and slow that it just ruined it for me. We also got a couple mimosa flights, they were descent but also just pricey...everything pricey lol $19 for the 3 drinks. Spent about $54 per person. Their cinnamon coffee was also kinda a disappointment it was more bitter than sweet. I did order the pistachio waffle to go, and that was pretty good. I'd get more of the sweet stuff over the savory stuff, felt lacking in flavor. Came here on a Friday morning, and upon entering the establishment noticed there was no employee in sight. That was the first red flag. After about 5 min, we were greeted by an individual who appeared to be the only waitstaff in the restaurant. This restaurant was completely understaffed. There was one waiter servicing the entire restaurant! We had to wait nearly 40 min to receive our breakfast, which was cold and mediocre (the chilaquiles). At $15-$22/plate, you expect at least a warm meal when you receive it. We had ordered a hazelnut latte when we initially sat down but it wasn't given to us until we asked for the bill. We wanted to cancel it, but felt bad so just ended up asking for a takeaway cup. The aesthetics might drive you in, but the food and service will leave you not wanting to return. After a couple attempts we finally made it before closing. They have kind of oddball hours but I think it's due to the fact that this particular location has never really done very well with foot traffic every other restaurant that's been there over the years has always been good but just never survives mainly due to lack of business I assume. Anyway glad we made it. The food was great the drinks were amazing the portions huge. I got the green chilies plate and subbed or added Beria for the protein. I kid you not it was essentially three meals for me and I eat a lot. I got the Agua Fresca flight every drink was incredible I'm kind of a snob when it comes Acquafresca too I particularly liked the lime flavor. When you walk inside it's a pretty big spot plenty of eating and a nice vibe decorated with hot pink neon sites that have catchy little sayings I'm assuming they were geared towards customers flooding social media with photos and tags and smart things to get the word out that the business is there. We don't live in the area anymore and we were just visiting in-laws so I'm not sure if this is the typical type of day for them but we were the only party in there except for the party that was finishing up when we got there. No complaints on my part because we have the whole place to our self basically and we had two toddlers with us so they didn't have to worry if they were being annoying or bothering people lol. My wife got the burial omelette which she absolutely loved I added a side of consume too much Kale and man that alone basically could've been a meal I had some tortilla to it and you're good to go it was huge I couldn't even tell you how much meat was in there they could've just been because we were literally there while they were closing and perhaps they were just gonna toss it anyway so I'll have to report back if that's normal or not but either way I was very happy with it. We also got the strawberry pancake dish for the kids and everybody had some of it there was three adults a three year-old a four-year-old and a 10 year-old and they were still half left when we were ready to go. So the portions are great definitely over ordered considering how big those portions are and it worked out because normally leftovers end up going to waste but we ate them all will definitely be going back when I come to the area. Sidenote my wife had just got back from Miami about a week prior with my daughter who is celebrating her birthday and inside this place literally was just like something you would see in Miami very hip especially for the area I can't think of any other restaurant that has this type of style the service was great very hopeful very nice servers I know most staff is very annoyed when somebody still sitting there waiting for food after closing time but they didn't seem to mind I even added a couple things last minute and they jumped right on it so kudos to them. read more

This is such a cute little brunch spot. The inside is well decorated and I love having Mexican brunch options in comparison to the regular stuff that you usually find when searching up brunch areas. I would say they have a pretty good selection of food. My favorite has to be the chiliquiles. I've gone here several times and have gotten to try different items. They do a phenomenal job with presentation, the dishes always come out looking absolutely amazing and delicious. They also have a very interesting selection for pancakes and waffles if you are big on sweet breakfast. My son has tried some of it and was a fan. I would say as far as service goes, they can put in some work to elevate the overall experience. Service sometimes feel frazzled, rushed, or uncertain. There were some condiments/sauces I received on certain visits that I was told they don't have when I requested it on others. Also other times when I've called in and communication was off. We really enjoyed my wife's birthday brunch at Madre's. It was our first time here. We were greeted upon entering and seated immediately. It's a quaint environment with some background music playing, butterfly murals, and even Marilyn Monroe. We ordered the Madre's Chilaquiles, Mom's Pork Ribs, and Omelette with a side of waffles and fruits. They were all delicious and perfectly prepared. We even tried the mimosa flight and Momoritas. Altogether, we had a wonderful birthday brunch and highly recommend to go here to celebrate or to just enjoy relaxed atmosphere with your meal. awfully mid. i'm rating it a little nicer than my group did; most were pretty upset the whole time lol. parking lot was kind of difficult on a saturday afternoon, we had to park on the other side of the plaza and walk over! we were a table of 13 so autogratuity got applied (20%). sadly, service felt kind of annoyed/didn't check in very often. i don't think anyone got their water refilled the whole time we ate. there were like 5 birria omelettes at the table, and some varied in size pretty heavily. i saw one that had the cheese completely unmelted- a lot of them expressed disappointment in how small it was, that they were still hungry, and felt like they ordered wrong. 1/5! my dulce de leche latte w oat milk was pretty good. you could taste both their syrup and the espresso very well. shot didn't taste under or over extracted! it gets docked a point for being $8 though; 4/5! my breakfast sandwich was pretty good, except for the fact that i asked for my eggs sunny side up. they got rang up as over easy even though i was pretty clear when i ordered.. get it with ham! the ham portion is pretty generous. but to specify, the proteins are on one piece of toast and the veggies are on the other. the toast pieces were so fat i just ate them separately lol. salad was nothing notable, but nice to have. also, one piece of toast was a little burnt on one side, but still got served. 4/5; was still tasty, and filled me up for $15 overall probably wouldn't come back, unless i had no other option. some of my group went to get fast food right after cause they weren't remotely full. read more

The place was full of good spirits and happy customers. I felt that this restaurant is more focused on how instagrammable/tiktok friendly it can be. I really wanted to love this place because the food looked good and the vibes seemed fun. My friend and I both ordered the Steak Chilaquiles Verdes and then stated we might share waffles or pancakes. We got our food and only one order of chilaquiles came out. We asked where the second one was and the server said, "I thought you were sharing." That was not the case. They apologized and put a rush order for the second plate. We got our food, but the chilaquiles was quite dry. We kept asking for salsa and had to pour 4 to go cups to drench it and it was still not enough. It was also very hard to get ahold of our server to ask for more salsa. The presentation was nice and the steak was cooked well. Other than that, it was a good time.
