One day we woke up craving a smash burger! After what felt like an eternity searching, we finally landed on Papa Smash. We made the drive over and, to our surprise, there was no line in the drive-thru huge win! We placed our order, paid, and were on our merry way. We ordered two smash burgers, fries, and loaded fries. I do want to point out that it's a bit on the expensive side (in my opinion). Overall, the food was good the burgers and fries definitely hit the spot. It wasn't bland exactly, but it lacked that extra punch of flavor that really makes a smash burger memorable. A little more salt and pepper--or even some house seasoning--could really take things up a notch. Then there's the bun. I'm all for a soft bun, but in this case, it just wasn't up to the job. Between the toppings, sauces, and the meat, the bun collapsed under pressure. By the time I got home, it was soggy beyond saving. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to toast the buns for some extra structure or switch to a sturdier option that can hold up to the weight of everything going on inside. As for the fries, they've got potential, but this is where the packaging let things down. I have been to Papa Smash several times but today was a huge disappointment. I ordered the Bacon smash burger, fries and a coke. The burger was completely saturated with sauce. Wet and disgusting. I was shocked because I have never had a situation like this before at this spot. I was on my lunch break so I decided that I would eat it anyway. It was a mess! Burger was not hot; and the bread just fell apart. Furthermore, the fries...burnt and cold. Overcooked and COLD . But the workers had chairs up on the tables and told me they were closed. I saw another reviewer below mentioning that they came at 7:40 PM and they were closed. I know dinner rushes happen and it gets busy I've worked in establishments like this before but a few of the members that were working there need some training on how to be cleaner with the food. I saw some guy who had glasses on working in the back making burgers. He would grab a stack of buns and place them on his shirt with no plastic on them proceed to put them on the grill or wherever. He did this multiple times. 2nd the shorter girl with tattoos in the front. She had one glove on and the other hand didn't have one. We saw her come out clean dirty tables with a dirty rag. Proceed to change the trash, she was changing it with both hands, comes back to kitchen front and continues to grab burgers and the FRIES that are open with both hands that she was changing and cleaning trash with. I waited 45 minutes for an order and in that 45 minutes we only saw 1 person wash their hands the entire time.
