I and my son have become addicted to smash style burgers and are apt to look for new experiences in this genre. We tried this location today and were very pleased with our experience. First the restaurant was clean, staff was friendly saying a welcoming hello to every patron as they entered and a thank you when they left. We tried the classic smash burger and a loaded fries as well as the papa fries which included a burger patty. We also both got a thick shake with our meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will hearty encourage others to try it as well. This is a very good addition to the expanding line of smash burger restaurants. I know dinner rushes happen and it gets busy I've worked in establishments like this before but a few of the members that were working there need some training on how to be cleaner with the food. I saw some guy who had glasses on working in the back making burgers. He would grab a stack of buns and place them on his shirt with no plastic on them proceed to put them on the grill or wherever. He did this multiple times. 2nd the shorter girl with tattoos in the front. She had one glove on and the other hand didn't have one. We saw her come out clean dirty tables with a dirty rag. Proceed to change the trash, she was changing it with both hands, comes back to kitchen front and continues to grab burgers and the FRIES that are open with both hands that she was changing and cleaning trash with. I waited 45 minutes for an order and in that 45 minutes we only saw 1 person wash their hands the entire time. Whoever owns this establishment should honestly go when it's busy and watch from afar and see who you have working there because it's needs work. Sad to say. Just not my style. Likely a love um or hate um situation. The smashing of the patty makes the outer rim almost burnt. Condiments and toppings fresh and yummy. Fries excellent, sauces and dressings also great. It all came down to style of cooking the patty. The service was great. I called the place to ask about the smash and the lady that answered was nice, but they had already started the smash and cook. When I attempted to return to Uber for refund of food only and asked them to keep the tip for the driver, they shot me down and said the don't back their restaurants food. The said they were glad to notify the place and appreciated my feedback. Oh well. I love trying a new burger and will continue to seek out local, small independent restaurants. My son loves burgers especially smashed so he was excited to try Papa Smash. He ordered a double bacon smash, smash fries and I ordered a single smash, regular fries, and we shared a strawberry shake. The restaurant was clean. The service was good, and the food came out quickly. The smash burger and shake were delicious. Definitely worth visiting again. The fries on the hand were super bland and didn't taste too great. Nice little old time diner vibe. Clean facility. Workers are really nice and friendly. I really liked that the workers are relatively young besides the cooks. Like how it use to be. Not a fast food place only full of people in their 40's and 50's. I miss when fast food and restaurant shops use to be hosted by kids in their first jobs. Omg these FRIES! They looked just okay online, but once I got them in person- Y'ALL. They are the CRISPIEST delicious fries (especially dipped in their spicy sauce). They are the kind that have that crispy outer coating. The burger was amazing too. The veggies were so tasty. I could literally eat this food until I pass out. As soon as you pull up you can smell the goodness of Papa Smash. The menu is very simple, Burgers, fries and shakes. The patties are Wagyu beef which makes them extremely delicious. I was really excited to have a new place to eat open up in town but the food tasted like cardboard and I was so sick within a few hours throwing up and even had a Papa Rash! Stopped by here yesterday for lunch and had a bad experience. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries and a regular fountain drink to go, total $13 + "tip" came to almost $15. I'm not sure what happened but when I opened my burger box my cheeseburger looked sad with only cheese, pickles and sauce, NO LETTUCE and NO TOMATOES! I felt ripped off for the price I paid, definitely not worth it! I didn't enjoy my lunch amd won't be going back. Okay I like to do my food reviews on Food, Service, Atmosphere: Service: service was exceptional and has a family type feel to it. I don't suspect they thought they would be as busy as they were the first day because it did seem a little hectic but they toughens it out and still offered great service. I did ask for my pickles on the side but they were in the burger and I honestly didn't mind it since the cashier seemed a little confused on how to enter that in. He tried to ask but again they are slammed and he seemed to do a quick panic inside and then said internally to himself "screw it" and went on with the order. lol all in all the service is already amazing and I am positive they will fine tune it and be one of the best customer service burger joints out in Menifee. Food: we ordered a double classic smash with everything on it, single classic smash with cheese and sauce only, and the smash fries which have cheese, burger patty, sauce, and grilled onions on top. I would say think In n Out but with a better bun, better meat, better everything lol. They seemed to butter their buns and the grill them which adds a light and fluffy but crisp outer texture to them. The meat is seasoned well and the sauce is on the sweeter side. I added the chili peppers to the burger and that heat leveled out the sauce magnificently. I used to have to drive to LA for a great smash burger like Eazy Street, but this is right down the way from me and I can honestly say this is the best smash burger I have had in the I.E. Definitely will be coming back here on the regular! Atmosphere: The atmosphere is amazing and I think I saw the owner cooking and he seemed pretty happy/stoked, so I know the food was about to be bangin'! It is nice and clean and has good open space but it did seem empty, like it was missing decoration or something but all in all the environment is top tier. I love how they have their beverages nicely chilling in ice on the counter. It has a feeling of a Mexican taco shop, which I love! Everyone... this place is a must! Go visit!
