This is a quiet cafe which is great to sit and work. I like their smoothies especially the peach smoothie.

Adorable, hip coffee shop. I've heard good things about this place so a friend and I met for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We both got breakfast sandwiches that were better than the traditional sandwiches you get at other coffee shops. I had the western omelette on an everything bagel and my friend got the Florentine omelette on a croissant. My vanilla latte was the right amount of sweetness and the design with the foam on the top was adorable. They have little nooks and crannies with chairs and books scattered throughout where you can hang out and the order counter still has the original post office boxes. Carnegie is becoming such a chic, cool place to be and I will definitely be back to visit this place. read more

Happy to see this place continues to improve! When they first opened, I was really excited to have a coffee shop in Carnegie, and loved the bright/open feel of the place... but the wait times were always terrible, and I often had to leave without ordering to avoid being late to work. The past few times, this hasn't been a problem at all, although I definitely enjoy coming here with friends to sit and catch up instead of getting anything to go. I'm a bit of a coffee snob so I wish they had more variety in their regular coffee selection, but my usual latte or americano is always good. Pastries are great but I've never tried their other food offerings. read more

Carnegie does not have a Starbucks and will never need one by the quality of the coffee and food at the Carnegie Coffee Company I only had the espresso and a salad but the espresso was rich and full of caramel sweetness with a good crema. The Carnegie salad had ripe tomatoes in March! And the home made ranch dressing was quite good.the home made ranch dressing was quite good. Go there and see for yourself. read more

We recently moved to Carnegie and went to Carnegie Coffee Company for the first time this morning. They were incredibly accommodating, making me an egg white breakfast sandwich even though egg whites weren't listed on the menu. Delicious sandwich and latte, and my boyfriend enjoyed his Western breakfast sandwich as well. We will definitely be back! read more

Really nice place. Lots of places to sit, relax or work. The little pharmacy and lottery machine is conveniently located inside. I've gone many times usually for a cappuccino. The staff lately are pretty low key and unremarkable. I think they should have a few espresso and engage the customers more but I suppose they don't have to. I usually tip based on their personality or willingness to be nice. read more

The coffee is awesome. The only drawback is a lot of the time there is only one person there so it can take some time to get your latte. The staff is always friendly though and try to get through everyones orders as quick as possible. read more

Great coffee. I suggest the vanilla steamer. Delicious and the highlight of my morning. The decor is beautiful and if you want a nice sit-down-and-drink-your-coffee experience. You can sit downstairs on the cute chairs, or upstairs on the comfy couch. They offer wifi which is nice although sometimes it's not the best. But they do have a wide array of food options. I've heard this building used to be a post office and that just makes this place even cooler! The counter is on top of some old mailboxes! And all the furniture is classic and beautiful. And finally, a really nice feature is the convenient store located in the lobby. Very, um, convenient! read more

Excellent coffee house with a very friendly staff. The breakfast and lunch menus are good and the specials are usually interesting. Drink-wise, they have all of the coffee, tea, and juice drinks one would expect, but the barista skills are significantly better than at a chain coffee house. My husband and I have always been complaining that there are no good places to walk/ride a bike, or even drive to near our house in Crafton. Especially coffee shops. We pride ourselves on finding the best espresso, and are always comparing different places in the city. We found out about a coffee shop that opened in Carnegie and had to give it a chance, even though we were in the frame of mind, that it wouldn't be that great. I mean, it is carnegie, and we have been holding out hope for great businesses to open there, we have been let down thus far. When we arrived at the old Post Office (there location) we were blow away by the amount of wrok they put into the place. It was gorgeous, spacious, and clean. Very modern and bright looking, with an upstairs that begs for a wine bar, or event space. O.K we thought, let's see what the beans are about. They boast Illy brand, and their espresso was right where it needed to be to keep us coming back for more. We are already planning our next Saturday's weekly bike ride. We finally got what we wanted, a perfect spot to bring in the locals. I truly hope everyone supports this place, and we can continue to build Main Street up to what it should be (a mini Lawrenceville would be nice) It looks like it is on it's way! This place oozes old-school charm without trying too hard--the coffee bar sits atop a row of old mailboxes, and an actual telephone booth hangs out nonchalantly in the corner. Top that off with a loft space with comfy chairs and a great selection of books, and you've got a great place to lose yourself for a few hours...or more! After a great Yelp event here, I had mentally bookmarked this place and when I found myself hungry in Carnegie, I stopped in with a friend for a sandwich. While service wasn't quick, it was certainly friendly, and they happily obliged my request to press my BLT panini-style--toasty, toasty deliciousness. For $8, you get a freshly made sandwich and side, and there's a pitcher of water around for those of us who don't forsake the tap. I'm not in Carnegie much, but I just might have to make it out there more often, especially with ample parking available for $0.25/hour (but bring quarters!)...beats Oakland prices any day! read more

Happy to have a local coffee shop in my neighborhood. It won't become my go to destination for top notch coffee in pittsburgh as there are other local shops that serves a better product (coffee roaster wise) but I will definitely support them. I'm glad they offer local baked goods and lunch items, with that said, I'm surprised they use illy coffee which is far from being local or even remotely a decent coffee roaster. I wish they would use a local coffee roaster ie; commonplace, 19 coffee, or even perhaps aldo coffee co. There are far better choices close to home that focuses on more sustainable, in season, coffees. I enjoyed the minimalist decor and found it to be inviting and friendly. What a great idea to pair with the medicine shoppe, it'll be good for business as they both can thrive off each other and I'm sure reduce overheads. Smart. They have potential as they improve their barista skills with time and practice and maybe hopefully change their coffee roaster. read more

The staff was super friendly. The coffee was good and it was affordable. I ordered a Carmello and my friend ordered a bold drip. I also bought a bottle of cherry soda for my fiance. This is a great local coffee shop!! The environment is bright and inviting with huge windows and shelves full of books. Each time I have ordered an espresso drink, the barista has created a beautiful design in my foam- this makes the drink so much more enjoyable :) The breakfast sandwiches are also delightful and are made fresh as you wait! read more

I've been coming here almost daily for the past few months as I have been studying for an exam, and they have been amazing. The coffee is fresh, the food is good and everything is affordable. They have a huge upstairs space with a conference table that is great for doing work. I would come and spend hours here and get a lot of work done. The baked goods are seriously out of this world. The people are nice and the atmosphere is great. Parking is cheap (seriously $1 for two hours!) and if you're lucky you can find a spot out back. I'll be back even after the bar exam! read more

Cute little place. Nice place to sit and work mid morning or mid day but you might need ear plugs because of the music. Free internet. Free parking in the back (but just 4 or 5 spots). Iced coffee was delicious but definitely pricey. A small iced coffee was 3.50 + tip. Next time, I'll try the food. They close pretty early at 7 PM. read more

Carnegie is a beautiful space. The decor is very classic and rustic. There is an abundance of space and seating and even offers a balcony to overlook the "living room" area. We were traveling from Brooklyn, NY as an acoustic duo. We played a short 1 hour set and had a great time. They serve Illy Coffee which is also a plus and the owner, Ashley, was extremely generous and hospitable. I look forward to coming back through Pittsburgh and revisiting Carnegie Coffee! Just had an anniversary party and rented the whole place Saturday night. It was a great experience and we would hands down book with them again for future events. The staff were really cool and involved; they looked like they were really enjoying themselves alongside us! They played an active role in surprising our friends who had no idea this anniversary party was for them. Service was great! The place has so much charm that we barely used decorations-just added a few banners and a simple bouquet of roses. Found this place while on a work trip in Pittsburgh. Reminds me of the cute little cafes from the Short North in Columbus, OH. Certainly out of place for this small rural town; but so happy the owners put the time and effort into creating it! Great coffee, delicious pastries, and fantastic atmosphere. Only other options I found so far have been Starbucks, or going into the city. For 10 extra minutes on the highway, I'm going back today to do some work. Definitely worth the drive. read more
