Great restaurant with fresh and authentic food. We have come here many times throughout the years and generally enjoy our time at Carmines. We have had one bad experience where a waiter judged our party and gave us poor service, but our most recent visit was great! Kat was our server and gave wonderful recommendations, great service and the ambiance as always was stellar! The location is conveniently located in old town bellevue. They have a validated parking lot nearby, but due to the tight and few spaces it is often full. I recommend valet or the parking garage across the street is worth the few extra dollars. The restaurant itself is classy and classically decorated with a semi open kitchen great to watch food prepared. It is an open restaurant which means that when full (which it usually is) it can be pretty loud so maybe come early if on a first date or sit outside if weather permits. Otherwise the ambiance is warm, bustling and so inviting. The food itself is phenomenal. We have liked everything on their menu except we weren't fans of one dish, but everything is executed to perfection with aldente pasta and rich, delicious flavors. I especially love their crab truffle risotto and highly recommend ordering this! Their veal is also well seasoned and tender! The food genuinely tastes as good as it looks. The service is generally great (see my epilogue above), but our best service was from Kat on my birthday! The price is easily around $50-100 per person so be prepared to enjoy and indulge. Food- The bruschetta is 10/10. Get that as an appetizer. The free bread was pretty dry but the sauce on the bruschetta was chefs kiss . Caprese was also great, the mozzarella was yummy. Entrees- I had the rigatoni bolognese. Noodle and sauce were yummy, but the meat was a little funky to me- almost like it came from a can. Kind of soft and mushy. This goes with service- but I wasn't sure what to order as our server said "everything is great" and "it depends on the person" but it would've been great to have a little more perspective on the meals. Dessert- GREAT dessert. The Panna Cotta was absolutely delicious and something I would want again. What a beautiful experience! Had a reservation on a Tuesday night. Complimentary bread and butter to snack on was awesome. Ordered a couple of wine ($12-15), the Duck ($45), and the New York Steak ($50). Everything was cooked well and the protein portions were sizeable. Classy, date-night worthy ambience. Candle-lit and fresh white roses laid with the table settings. Loved the little biscotti in ribbon wrapped boxes to take home, such a nice touch. Staff was great and welcoming. What went well- Amazing host! Super nice and welcoming. What didn't go so well- Service. Felt a bit rushed. Waitor did not go over specials until I asked if there were any. I ordered soup, an appetizer and a pasta. Soup quickly came. The appetizer took some time and the pasta never came. It got down to closing time and I asked for them to remove the pasta from the bill. Unfortunately this treatment is not unique as I've experienced similar treatment 2 weeks prior. Not sure if I have high unrealistic expectations or not but as I typically receive better treatment/experience even at the lower budget restaurants, I would assume I don't. I wasn't sure how to handle the tip because i don't want to satisfy the expection of tipping badly but on the other hand I don't want to reward bad behavior. Not sure how I managed this, but on Monday I ate at Il carmines over in Seattle and Today (Thursday) I stopped here TD;DR- Clean Quiet noise level( for lunch) Great food! They use quality ingredients and the wait for food was not long! Great wine selection The service was unbelievably kind ----------------------------------------------- I decided to come here after work in the city for lunch; a single woman in business wear eating alone is something I've never done before! However the hostess was very kind to me and she sent me in the bar area which was very quiet. I could have read a book! I had a class of sparkling rose to start with an appetizer of the prawns. Gnocchi Sorrentina in Brown butter with sage was light and delicate. They were as if I were eating pillows in the best way possible. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Carmines, with stellar service. We started with the Antipasto Assortito, which included a number of roasted veggies and a few slices of prosciutto? The Antipasto paired well with Carmine's yummy crusty bread. Hubs ordered the Squid Ink Capellini Di Mare and I ordered the Gnocchi Sorrentina. The Gnocchi was delicious, though it was definitely not like any Gnocchi I've eaten before, including at Carmine's - so not sure if they've changed their recipe or ?? The Gnocchi was very soft and had more of a melty cheese like texture- similar to Gnudi, though I don't think it was made with ricotta like Gnudi is. We opted for Tiramisu for dessert and it was amazing, the best I've ever eaten. It was a wonderful evening, sitting outside enjoying a perfectly paced meal, where every course could be enjoyed without feeling rushed. Carmine's was a wonderful experience while we were staying at Atlantis. Resort/island pricing is a bit "extra", but at Carmine's it's worth it. We had a cocktail and glass of wine at the bar while we waited for our table. We were lucky enough to be on the patio by the fireplaces and surrounded by lights. Our server was great. Carmine's is served family style, so one order serves 4-5 people. We began with the Caesar salad and it was AMAZING!!! A must order!! We also ordered the lemon chicken and rigatoni in vodka sauce. They were both delicious! There were 4 of us and we still took home leftovers. The tiramisu was only okay... I make mine from scratch, so I may be a bit spoiled, though. Overall, a wonderful dinner! Tried a new appetizer on Monday this week, the house made pita. Omg it was fantastic, please keep that on the menu permanently! The place is always packed. Don't dare try to come without a reservation or you will wait a very long time. Plan your reservations well in advance or you will be subject to random leftover time slots that are typically super late, even on a weekday. Great spot. Great service, good ambiance. Always hopping. I stopped in here for lunch with a couple of friends. The service was outstanding but the food was just meh in my opinion. I ordered the gnocchi in brown butter sauce and was underwhelmed with the dish, which was 21.00 (for about 15 gnocchi with no side accompaniment). The gnocchi was soggy and a little mushy. The flavor was ok but the texture was not great. Gnocchi is one of my favorite dishes so I know how it should be cooked and they missed the mark, The bread they supplied was moist, plentiful, and delicious. Diet coke was 5.00 a glass. HOLY HELL. For those prices I would expect some gold flakes floating in it. Parking is very difficult in this location unless you are wanting to pay for private parking. I do not come to Bellevue often, but was there for a doctor's appointment a couple months ago and felt like grabbing lunch before heading back to Seattle. Carmine's is right across the street from a park and has a really nice patio. The patio looked pretty full, so I ended up sitting inside, specifically in the lounge half. Even the lounge had a pretty upscale vibe and I felt a little self conscious about my attire, but thankfully, no one called me out (at least not to my face, haha). I had the rigatoni bolognese and it was delicious. Service was great. Clientele was pretty interesting for lunch on a Tuesday. Great people watching. I wish I could convince my bf to let me drag him to Bellevue for dinner, because I really think he'd like this place, but I don't see it happening. I'll just have to do another solo lunch next time I'm in the area, and I'll remember to dress better so I don't feel like a scrub surrounded by fabulous people. read more

Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, and excellent service! My boyfriend and I ate here for our anniversary dinner and we both loved it. The restaurant was pretty empty, but it was also a Monday night. I ordered the rigatoni bolognese and my boyfriend had the spaghetti ortolano. The noodle texture was perfect for both, and I loved the meat sauce on mine as I thought it paired well, and the noodles soaked up the flavor of the sauce. Because it was our anniversary, they also decorated our table with a little card, and gave us a free dessert at the end! The tiramisu was soft and sweet and creamy, just the way I like it. The coffee flavor is very subtle. I loved the attention to detail in the decor, and it made the evening feel more special for us. For drinks, I got a white wine and my boyfriend got a red. I'm not a big sommelier, so I can't really speak to the wine quality but I definitely enjoyed mine. We also ordered drinks with dessert as well, and I got a chocolate martini while my boyfriend ordered an espresso martini. The chocolate martini was so strong, but luckily my boyfriend traded drinks with me, and I liked the espresso martini a lot more :) read more

Theirs was a tomato-based sauce which is not my preferred type for this dish (I typically like white wine sauces more), but it was still good and had an abundance of clams. My husband ordered the duck which was actually not very good... the breast was super tough and hard to chew. The leg that's included was really good though as it was braised and falling off the bone. Their tiramisu was also pretty good, although slightly more alcohol heavy than I prefer. Customer service was great the whole night from waitress to waiters. The food is where I have some recs and skips. I ordered a small greens salad and it was the most plain salad ever. I would opt for a Caesar salad or soup next time if you want it to pair with your pasta. The calamari and charcuterie board were amazing and easy to share. All of our pastas were so good and no complaints from the group! I'd skip the dessert here next time. WOW! What an amazing experience. From booking a reservation, finding parking and our entrance into a BEAUTIFUL restaurant- I was blown away. We were greeted and seated very quickly and had some delicious bread and salted, whipped butter on the table. The server took our cocktail orders and let us know that the sommelier would be over to help us pick some nice wines out for the evening. The menu was delightful in every way with unique and traditional options for everyone. We started off with appetizers- Tartar de Manzo (wagyu steak tartare x2), Calamari Fritti (fried calamari) and burrata (the special with arugula/tomatoes). Of the 3, the wagyu steak tartare was out of this world! The flavor and consistency of the each order were amazing. The burrata was also very good, but normal in the range of what to expect. For dinner we ordered a bunch of items including the: Fettucine Al Pesto con Gamberoni- delicately creamy and perfectly cooked shrimp. Would order again! Rigatoni Bolognese- Table favorite. Pasta was perfectly al dente and the meat sauce we incredibly flavorful. Linguine Alle Vongole- very good, had a broth like sauce we a ton of clams. Extremely flavorful and light. Dry Aged Ribeye (not pictured)- also a table favorite. Came to us a perfect medium rare and the sides were delicious (risotto, veggies and a veal demi sauce) I would highly recommend Carmines for anyone looking to experience a delicious Italian meal. This honestly might be our new go-to place when we want to go somewhere a little nicer for the night. The outside has some nice lights and pretty flowers and the inside is decorated more or less the same. But the VIBES are so nice and romantic (in my opinion) and even though it's not thing super fancy, it just felt like you were in the Italian countryside lol. As for the food...it was quite tasty! My boyfriend and I especially loved the Spaghetti Di Finochio. Everything about it was really good, especially the fennel sausage! We also ordered the rack of lamb and pork chop, which were both cooked and seasoned well. All in all, really enjoyed our meal and thankful for the friendly and attentive service. read more
