I have ordered delivery 3 times now and have yet to be disappointed. I took off a star because it will definitely take more than 1 hour. My food always comes 90 min after and I'm under 15 min away. Fresh food and all was flavorful so I do not mind. My favorite things were the pork and the morir soñado drink. They send a good amount of food for the low price. They don't send 2 pieces of plantain as others. It will be like 10. My tip is to order through their site so the prices are bumped up like they r on Grubhub. Chicken was dry oxtail had no favor and was more on the cold side than warm or hot. Calamari was chewy and was served with mayo and cocktail sauce WTF. My Cuban sandwich was to oily. I am a little surprised at the negative reviews as I have been coming here for years. Its always a great experience when we come to dinner. Ordered, fried fish filet, churrasco, white rice and beans, 1/2 rotisserie chicken, lemonade, morir soñando tostones and flan. I personally do not have any complaints, beans are always creamy and well seasoned, fish and steak always taste the same and I keep going back to the restaurant (meaning its delish to me). Avoid ordering delivery from this place if you plan on eating your food while it's still luke warm. On now 2 occassions I have received my food over 1 hour and 40 mins after ordering or not at all. To add insult to injury, the phone attendants are rude and unapologetic. I wouldn't mind waiting on my food if I was given an appropriate time frame and could plan on eating several hours after ordering. Instead, the attendants say 40-50 minutes standard regardless of how long the food would actually take to be delivered. "Like I paid for these two items and they weren't in the bag", as I kept explaining to him. After the FIVE minutes, he then tells me sorry and that he was going to send me my items asap. An hour pass, nothing, two hour, nothing. At that very moment I was fed up( This was last night BTW)(April 30th, 2020). I then try to reach Door dash and couldn't get a hold with them, like at all. I had better customer service using Grub hub in the past, for they would actually call the restaurant up and do something about it. I really wanted to give this place a good review but my experience with them is just very bad. I ordered delivery and was given an estimate as to what time I will get the food. It never came. I called the restaurant and spoke to a lady who said the food is on the way and if I can wait a few more minutes. I waited 45 minutes before calling them again and I was then informed my food is actually still in the restaurant. What happened? Now I have to wait another 30-40 minutes for them to deliver the food. So you mean the first time I called you, did you really bother to check my order? Maybe not. I guess the stars on this restaurant should've served as a warning not to order from them. But then I really try to support local businesses but they also need to step up and improve their service. Earlier today we placed an order for delivery to our home and order was automatically processed through DoorDash giving us no alternate option. The delivery person made only ONE attempt to contact us via phone and did not leave a message or ring our bell to indicate that they were here. After speaking (via text because speaking on the phone is apparently overrated) with DoorDash, they tried to explain that the delivery person waited for "a long time" and a credit was offered. After a bit of back and forth, we finally received a "one time" refund back to our account. After speaking with DoorDash, we called Caridad directly and spoke with Jamel who was very kind in hearing us out and offered to resend our order (with payment of course and Not through DoorDash!!!) The food is ALWAYS amazing from here. Thank you Caridad!!! Don't let DoorDash ruin your good name! **** update ***** After an hour of speaking with Jamel our order was delivered. However, the delivery person for Caridad refused to bring the order upstairs to our apartment or meet us in the lobby! I had to walk outside and met him in at his car. I was super excited to cater Christmas, they offered the best deal in the area. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. The order was sent all wrong. The maduros and beef pastelitos never came. The food here is good and I am a regular customer, however the service is horrible. When ordering in, food takes well over an hour to be delivered (I live only a few blocks away). About 50% of the time, or maybe a little more, my order is wrong. Getting it corrected means being yelled at by whoever answers the phone, getting no apology once they realize they actually did screw up, then waiting over an hour again to get it corrected. Eating in isn't much better. Orders come out wrong, take forever and the staff basically ignored you to chit chat with each other. When I'm craving spanish I come back, but I go knowing I'm going to have a lousy experience to get my food. Roasted chicken is delicious. So are the boneless chicken chunks, rice and red beans, maduros and tostones. I like the pernil, but a few times I've had it come really, really dry and tough. For breakfast I love the eggs and mangu. I wouldn't say not to try it, because you'll probably love the food, just don't be surprised if you have to get your order corrected, or get an attitude from the staff. Also, when ordering on their website, their are multiple incorrect prices or entries on the menu that they never bother to fix, so you're better off just calling them. read more

They were also stingy with the beans (more sauce than beans). Salad was fresh but nothing special, just lettuce with tomato slices (can't go wrong there). Sweet plantains were the best part. There was a lot of rice though. Just really ridiculous how much we paid for how little food we got especially in the Bronx. It was $28.90 (including the $5 tip). My office gets Caridad for catering all the time and it is AMAZING! It's everyone's favorite lunch day when we order from here! Between the pernil (the garlic sauce is SO bomb) and the baked chicken (completely mouth watering) you just can't go wrong!
