Average Jamaican food, and weird pricing structure by weight makes it really not worth the effort.

We ate in the brewery behind the restaurant (there's a cool service window to the back kitchen behind the bar!), and I could not possibly have expected the meal we enjoyed. As I mentioned, the catfish sandwich was lovely, soft fish encased in a light frying batter that was just deliciously spiced. The cornbread is absolutely not to be missed, it is thick and moist. The servings are generous and you will feel fulfilled at the end of your meal. My wife had the honey BBQ wings, and when you get the option, have these baked, not fried. I'm sure the fried wings are lovely, but the baked is cooked so tenderly that the meat was just falling off the bone into the sweet sauce below (which you should dip your cornbread in). Don't forget to ask for some house secret sauce for your food. I'm fairly certain you could put it on anything and it will become even more irresistible than it seems when you first smell the aromas wafting up from your dish. I have two regrets. I didn't take any pictures of my food, and I don't have a second stomach. Get yourself here as soon as you can, bring an empty stomach and an open heart. The staff is so kind and the owner is a joy of a woman that serves up her smile and kindness as much as she serves up a filling meal. I will be making sure to get back here soon so I can explore the menu more.

I'll keep my money & keep going where I've been going. I so wanted to give them a try. Oh well

The service was alright, I was patiently waiting and as soon as I thought I was the next one someone esle cut in front of me and the worker took them . Which made no sense at all since I was standing in line . I even mentioned that I pre ordered and I am waiting to pick up my food. It was a bit unorganized, they didnt know where my order was and then they asked others who were on the line what would they like. Also , my food was leaking in the bag . I asked for extra sauce but they put that extra sauce on my chicken instead of extra sauce on my rice. I have had better stew chicken from other Jamican places before and better service as well.

They are rude, rude, rude. They are representing Jamaica, and that is why we have a bad reputation in this country! (Jamaicans, we do, guys, admit it!!) -- many of us are rude and downright nasty. For years, I ordered brown stew chicken as a special request because Grubhub did not have it as an option. One day, I saw that someone had added it to the menu because I kept ordering it! (Thanks and bless up to whoever that is.) I was eating out alone at a restaurant when I overheard Americans saying, "well you know Jamaicans, they are rude; everyone knows that." That CRUSHED MY HEART because it is TRUE. And it is because of animal rudeness like this, I called the restaurant to say thank you for adding it, and the lady became RABID, was nasty, rude, and bitter?? T Really? I was THANKING you, and she said I was talking too fast and that I didn't need to call to thank us in a rude way! Let us represent the REAL Jamaica--Love and Kindness for ALL!!! Love-L

Came through the main doors, into a nice entrance with a nice illuminated chandelier and mood lighting to greet you. I wait and was directed in. The aesthetic of the main entrance, to the walk way passing the first bar and restaurant area is nice. But once you get into the dance floor you loose a little bit of it. Since it's usually dark there you don't notice it. But when you get to the second bar area, you pick it back up in my opinion. I have been here a few times before the food isn't bad, portion sizes are descent and the drinks are typically good. Every thing even before the pandemic and especially now is just a little over priced in my opinion for what you get. I did have drink specials and when that was over they went to a happy-hour, cash only bar without really any notice or heads up which I didn't like. Because I didn't have cash. They do have an ATM on the premise from what I was told. I might come back here with a group again, but not by myself. Especially there are several cheaper options in whiteplains and neighboring towns like portchester.

Try a buffet style spanish brunch and also come up for a friday or Saturday night of Fun. Im sure you will enjoy it. FYI they have night club on the other side so come for dinner stay for the party!

I ordered the pepper shrimp, a rum punch and an brown stew fish with rice and peas. There is a sign that says that they have the best rum punch and that is a lie. This was one of the worst I've had. It tasted watered down, did not have the full body that good rum punches have. Somehow I received the fish and rice and no peppered shrimp. Which was taken off the bill. The food was good which is why I gave a 2 but the customer service needs to be improved. I also had stopped in to book an event. The prix fix menu is limited but add ons can be done. When I left the young lady informed that someone would get back to me, thing is Noone ever did and what is more interesting is that today they are holding a rum brunch. Informing that the event could not be honored would have been appreciated. Thankfully I pivoted to another place.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and clean, with nice music playing in the background that really set the mood for a relaxing brunch. The staff and service were excellent everyone was friendly, attentive, and professional. The drinks from the bar were honestly some of the best I've had in a long time. The bartender definitely did not skimp on the liquor, and the drink was perfectly made. For brunch, I ordered the omelet with jerk shrimp and it was absolutely delicious flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the catfish and she loved it as well. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. She also ordered dessert and really enjoyed it. Toward the end of our meal, Alvin, the owner, came over to our table and introduced himself, which was such a nice personal touch and made the experience even more special. Before leaving, I even ordered food to take home because the meal was that good. Overall, this restaurant was an excellent choice. Great food, great drinks, great service, and a great atmosphere. My friend and I enjoyed it so much that we are already planning to come back again with our husbands. I would definitely recommend Alvin & Friends for brunch.
