Food was free great, definitely overpriced however. My dish was amazing and would get it again, our waiter was nice and friendly however the vibes were a little weird with various women walking through the dining room offering $5 and pouring it in people mouth. The club itself had a good vibe but overall not the best.

I booked a last minute reservation here for a large party here recently & the staff were very kind & accommodating! I believe this is both a bar & restaurant so there was a DJ playing music throughout the duration of our dinner. My party & I had a pre-fixed menu for our dinner & paid about $55 or so for our meal. The meal included 2 pitchers of soda, 2 plates of appetizers, one entree per person, & a dessert platter. The appetizers were subpar & not really out of this world, same thing with my entree which was the half chicken with mashed potatoes, & the dessert platter consisted of 6 1/4 cut pieces of a variety of cheesecake; needless to say that the food was underwhelming. The pre-fixed menu in my opinion is not worth the price considering the portion size & taste of the options, but the staff treated us well & the restaurant space was put together nicely. Would only return to possibly try something else on the menu & give it another shot.

Came to Don Coqui for a friends birthday in October 2022 and was really excited for the experience. Unfortunately, that excitement wore off very quickly. We had a party of 16 people at dinner, we all ordered drinks and food-- it took OVER AN HOUR to get our food out to us. Members from the party opted to LEAVE because of this wait while others left as soon as the food came out. I completely understand it may have been a busy night but waiting over an hour for food is ludicrous. I've been to very busy restaurants but have never experienced something like this. Not to mention, the staff knew it was a birthday celebration and they did not sing happy birthday to our friend who was VERY upset at the service that was being provided. That was a tough moment when we saw others around us getting the happy birthday treatment and she was practically ignored. After we paid well over $1K for the dinner, I asked to speak to the manager about our grievances. I can't remember his name but he was already on the defensive when I started speaking and wouldn't let me talk at first. He THOUGHT he was saying what I wanted to hear but all I needed him was to LISTEN to how bad the service was. It was incredibly rude to not let me get a chance to speak. It was also super embarrassing to go through this for a birthday celebration and I will never return back to this restaurant.

Came here, there is street metered parking available. 9-9 is paid parking. After 9 it's free if I'm not mistaken. Came through the main doors, into a nice entrance with a nice illuminated chandelier and mood lighting to greet you. I wait and was directed in. The aesthetic of the main entrance, to the walk way passing the first bar and restaurant area is nice. But once you get into the dance floor you loose a little bit of it. Since it's usually dark there you don't notice it. But when you get to the second bar area, you pick it back up in my opinion. I have been here a few times before the food isn't bad, portion sizes are descent and the drinks are typically good. Every thing even before the pandemic and especially now is just a little over priced in my opinion for what you get. I did have drink specials and when that was over they went to a happy-hour, cash only bar without really any notice or heads up which I didn't like. Because I didn't have cash. They do have an ATM on the premise from what I was told. I might come back here with a group again, but not by myself. Especially there are several cheaper options in whiteplains and neighboring towns like portchester.

This absolutely has be the worst restaurant I've ever been to. The drinks are over priced and weak. The food is disgusting not worth waiting for or the money. I paid $45 for my meal part of a prefix menu. One word DISGUSTING. I literally spent 35 minutes throwing up in the bathroom after eating. Don't waste your time. don't waste your money. The best thing was maybe the service. If I could give less than one star I would, I will never be back. I will never recommend the place. I'm literally writing this with food poisoning so don't waste your time. Please don't give them anymore money don't hype this place up and don't let anyone else get sick.

Terrible service! Stay away!! We were a party of 4 and it was 2 adults and 2 kids. This place is overly expensive for no reason. Beware! They don't list drink prices, when I got my bill my 2 Henny punches cost 35$ a piece and my soda is $7.00. I told the waitress it had to be a mistake because we both had watered down Henny drinks. They don't put the drink prices on the menu for a reason, they overcharge for the drinks and food was mediocre. They also charge gratuity for party's of 4 or more or if your bill is more than 100$ so yeah our gratuity was more than 30$. This place is overrated and not worth the money spent and I'm not a cheap person at all but 70$ for 2 drinks, u gotta be kidding me.

    Churrasco

This Churrasco is absolutely AMAZING. The flavor, temperature, flavor, juiciness, seasoning, flavor, texture, flavor, did I mention FLAVOR??? One of the most AMAZING Churrascos I have ever tasted. To top it off, the Staff is extremely friendly and hospitable. The atmosphere is very welcoming and such a great vibe. I would recommend Don Coqui in White Plains to anyone and everyone who wants amazing food with a smile and an overall great atmosphere.

Cool place to hang out and have some good food and drinks to add... the lounge in the back is becoming a club unfortunately and they were charging $10 per person last weekend... definitely not very Covid safe. Other than that the main bar was a nice experience as the bartender there is strikingly beautiful and she had a graceful " I'm not taking no bullshit " attitude while serving customers .. . They also only took cash at the bar.. like what ???? Gimme a break! Who does an only cash bar these days ?? Let's keep the integrity of this place alive!

Let me tell you something. If Don Coqui was in the dictionary, you'd find the word POPPIN as the definition. This place had me lit faster than a forest fire in California. Male staff. THICC. Female staff. THICC. I visited all the other spots on the ave and none of them come close to this place. I went and we turned UP. We got bottle service right to our standing table directly on the dance floor with our hookah constantly being restocked for us before I could even get the head buzz. This is a SCENE. I brought 4 girls with me and let me tell you, sh*t got wild. DJ at 6. Lounge opens at 9. But the place doesn't really turn up until about 11, so plan accordingly. Drinks are expensive so i suggest getting the bottle service treatment because it was definitely worth it. I can't explain any more of the night or I'll incriminate myself so y'all just gotta go for yourself to experience it. NYC represent.

Is this 18+? Even tho you just wanna have dinner and dance

I think dinner and dancing is ok but after a certain time being under 21 may be an issue. When in doubt, call.

I'm traveling on business solo and will be here over the weekend. Is this a good place to sit at the bar alone and have a meal and listen to music? Or will I feel awkward and out-of-place?

No it's actually perfect now compared to how it used to be , you can even sit at a table and be fine. I didn't go in a long time so I was over dressed.

Is there dancing at this location?

If you like hip hop. Mix a little of everything..packed people waiters walking by with hot plates where they push you. Bouncers moving you out of the way..uka..every where.

Can you dance here and is there hookah?

    Yep

If you really think about it the Dominican food has taken over the Bx. I searched, and found this place. The moment you step in you are greeted with the warmest blessings. The 2 beautiful people that worked there made our time there so memorable. The food was out of this world let me tell you. Also, I will say it is AFFORDABLE. portion size was huge and the place was so CLEAN. Food: Pernil: 10/10 flavorful and tender Yellow (arroz con gandules) and Black rice with the beans: 10/10 both were good and couldn't even decide which one was better Pulpo 9/10 : fresh and tangy, cut into small pieces so you can top it on your rice Alcapurrias: 8/10 great and made differently then what I'm used to but it was sooo good I'd come again for this alone Juices: Ask them to try the juices and they will let you. We tried it all. Came home with passion fruit (parcha) and guyaba (guanabana) Delicious 10/10 It was so fresh and they don't add too much ice so you get all the juice taste. All in all I'm coming here from now on. A true BX staple for the community and a true essence of the Bori pride resides here. If you miss PR, come here.

The lady working there said that sometimes they make guanimes (some people call them guanimos) which I have never been able to find outside of PR. I hope I get to try them at this place.
