Came here after a few drinks at another place. From what I recall it's a great place to catch a few drinks. Very small place so I definitely don't recommend going with large groups. They had a nice selection of beers on tap and were able to make a bunch of mix drinks. Service was spot on. Since it's such a small place our waitress was able to check on us many times to ensure she was providing great service. Stop by for a drink. You won't be disappointed. read more

A really good Cuban restaurant in Tarrytown. Started off with spicy guava wings which set the tone for the dinner. We had the Ropa vieja and paella which were really good and authentic tasting. The portions were good. Got burgers with fries for the kids which were really good and big. They have other popular menu items recommended by staff and a big drinks menu also. Drinks: Kudos to this spot for having the best IPA in the world (Yonkers Not Upstate Hazy formerly known as Rays IPA). Had one to start off. I've wanted to try the Cube Inn since moving to Tarrytown. With my son's weird bedtime and then getting into a groove with other places, never got to go. Recently my wife went into the city for a party, so me and my son hit the toy store and then I finally got to go. Place isn't huge but there's a decent amount of tales. Very cool vibe and great service. Menu is huge with all of the Cuban classics you'd expect. Good mix of different folks too, typical of Tarrytown. I got the mezcal old fashioned for reasons I don't really understand. It just popped into my head and is otherwise something I normally wouldn't order. That said, it was really good with the mezcal being a unique replacement for bourbon. Didn't realize how strong it was until I stood up. I got the shrimp al ajillo for an entree. Shrimp were on the smaller side however they were cooked perfectly and there was a decent number of them. Pretty good al ajillo sauce however it was a little salty and there wasn't enough of it. The tostones were just ok and could've used the sauce. Rice and beans also a bit forgettable although portion size was solid. Key lime pie and Cuban coffee were superb though; love that the keep the desserts cheap with a smaller portion, and while I don't normally like sugar in coffee the espresso here was strong enough to hold up to it. Cube Inn was greater than the sum of its parts to me. Next time will get the ropa vieja which is my normal go-to with Cuban places. My son enjoyed his french fries so that's the most important vote anyway. read more

We did some exploring and sightseeing of the Hudson River ice flows and then stopped for lunch at The Cube Inn in Tarrytown. The place was decorated nicely. Good size bar and seating for at least 50 patrons. We were greeted by the bartender and he said we could sit at any open table. There was a nice crowd at the bar and seated at tables. For apps we had empanadas and ceviche with plantain chips. We also ordered the Cuban sandwich. Everything was delicious. Washed it down with a nice Cuban lager. Our waitress was friendly and welcoming and she provided great info and service in regard to the food prep. Pros: overall it was a good experience. I just stumbled upon this place walking through the town . Originally went for brunch but the regular menu was to hard to pass up . The staff were friendly . It took a little while to get a table due to the rush of brunch but was able to sit at the bar and the bartender was very helpful . The food was good and drinks really good . Where they excelled was with the food. The appetizers were amazing. The guava empanada was phenomenal and so were the pork wings. The ropa Vieja was fantastic and the seafood paella was excellent as well. The flan was absolutely to die for. I have never had eggnog flan and it was a unique and slow savoring experience. I found out about this restaurant from an influencer on Instagram and I'm so happy I decided to have lunch here with my family. It's located in Tarrytown New York. The menu had plenty of Cuban style dishes to please your palette. I had the Camarones al ajillo with white rice and beans, my husband had the salmon with rice and beans, my sister had the bongo bowl which you can customize to your liking with different proteins and yellow or white rice and beans. My son of course had his favorite from the kids menu the chicken fingers and fries. The chicken fingers were a little over fried, but other than that the food was flavorful and fresh. Solid brunch spot but the hunt for a good Cuban sandwich continues. Here's what we ordered: 1. Guava/cheese empanada: 3/5. I was expecting a chunkier filling instead of the oozing liquid that burned my tongue when I bit in (definitely let this cool after it hits your table). It tasted like fruity, sugary extract. If you told me it was strawberry instead of guava, I'd believe it. 2. Shrimp fritters: 2/5. Extremely salty and not a lot of shrimp flavor; the exterior was well-fried though. 3. Avocado shrimp with steak: 4/5. The steak came in these thinly sliced sheets that reminded me of Korean beef bulgogi but was tender and nicely seasoned. Salad had generous chunks of avocado and cheese, though I picked out more than a few slimy, rotten leaves. 4. Cuban sandwich: 2/5. This was the item I was most excited to try and it fell flat. The sandwich was basically two large slabs of bread with a small amount of actual meat/cheese/pickles in between, which, fine, but the bread itself was stale and dry. Sweet potato fries, while a generous portion, were drowning in their own grease. Our waitress was nice but was clearly swamped by the brunch crowd. Out again with my gf Allie needing a bite after getting are nails done . The cube inn is conveniently located off main street and we walked in ; and we found a friendly bartender who welcomed us offered a drink and menu. Fabulous we sent in empanadas chicken and beef which we split ...and were quite good. Then we shared a picadillo which is ground beef served with rice black beans and maduros (sweet plantains). I enjoyed I've had better but it was good and the staff was very nice . I saw them quickly make room for a group of 10...nice . The coconut minus was good too. What a great place! We had eyed The Cube In for quite some time, and we finally had an opportunity to go recently when we went to Tarrytown for a concert. We hit up Tarrytown early so that we could dine downtown, and I'm glad we decided on Cube Inn. We all ordered from their drink menu to start, and all the drinks were tasty! Next up, we tried some appetizers. My favorite was the chicken wings. As for mains, we all stuck with Cuban-inspired favorites. I had the Picadillo, which was utterly delicious. Tony had the pork, which was tender and tasty. One of our neighbors who went with us that night, tried the Cuban Sandwich. He said it was really good. And when I looked over to the table next to me, I noticed a few people had ordered burgers. I had food envy, as these looked really tasty, too! I would definitely return to this place if I am around Tarrytown during dinner time! And, I recommend that you check it out as well. You will be pleased! read more

My wife and I visited on a very crowded Saturday night after a show at the Tarrytown Music Hall. Many of the other restaurants in town close early and this was the exception since it is more of a bar/restaurant. There is only about 10-12 tables other than the bar and they do not take reservations. Fortunately, we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. I had the Classic 55 burger with French fries and my wife had the veggie Cuban with sweet potato fries. My burger was cooked fresh and to perfection, medium well. Unfortunately, the burger did not hold up well in the bun and I had to start using a knife and fork. My wife loved her veggie Cuban. I must say that the French fries and the sweet potato fries were outstanding. Seasoned with plenty of salt and spices. We did not feel guilty finishing the entire portion. Please don't serve me unseasoned French fries. The prices were very reasonable and the service was good and friendly. There are some public parking lots in the area that you can park at since they don't have their own lot. The Cube Inn is located right in the heart of downtown Tarrytown. I must admit it was very loud and difficult to have a conversation with the person across from you. I might be getting older. read more

The service was excellent! I didn't care for my paella. It was too salty and the pieces of chicken were too big. The Ropa Vieja, rice and beans and plátanos were really good. The Margarita was good also.. will definitely go back by choose another dish. read more

First time diner came in late for lunch. Place was not packed but a lot of the tables were not bussed down so I just went to the bar. Bartender was very nice but the bar was very sticky. Did not like the feeling so I decided to order take out. I wanted to try the INFAMOUS Cuban sandwich and I ordered a Cevichi to go. Once I was home I was very disappointed with the packaging of the Cevichi was terrible. They placed plantain chips in the Cevichi liquid and didn't separate them it was soggy and I was highly disappointed. This place is mediocre at best. I've tried Cuban food in Florida, Manhattan and Jersey, and never have I ever had such bland, unseasoned food. I guess being this place is in Tarrytown, it caters to a non-latino clientele. You know, the type of clientele that adds raisins to the potato salad. We started off with pina coladas. The base was good, but so is the base at Dallas BBQs (iykyk). I was convinced they must have given us virgin coladas until I saw the "bartender" making drinks. They don't use a jigger, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but when they're severely underpouring, it's a problem. You're lucky if they make your drink with an ounce of alcohol. As for the food ... we ordered empanadas and croquettes as appetizers. The empanadas were good. The croquettes, not so much. We also ordered the Lucy Bowls with a side of tostones (fried green plantains). The waitress / bartender repeated the order twice and the order was still wrong. The chicken was so bland I understand now why they serve these bowls with a sauce over top. The tostones were so bland I needed to drown them in ketchup just to be able to eat them. For dessert we got the tres leches cake and a flan. The desserts were surprisingly very good. I was almost tempted to order a cafe con leche. In conclusion, I would skip this place if you want authentic, good tasting Cuban food. If you're in the area and want to stop in, just do appetizers and dessert. read more

Only negative I have is the limited menu. Not that big of a selection. With that being said the menu items you do have better be dam good. The Celia Bowl was delicious, and the pernil/pork was perfectly cooked with no fat. The espresso was great, and the cocktail I got towards the end of the meal was STRONG. The service was good, but it was freezing inside the restaurant (which has nothing to do with their service or food). It was a frigid day, and maybe there were issues with the heating system. We tried the croquetas, and the masita de cerdo and they were wonderful. I've tried both in Miami from different Cuban places (and kitchens) and although they were super different, the portion was good and flavorful. However, the entrees were so sadly disappointing. I ordered the burger classic 55 and in transit looked so good! When I cut into it, although somewhat juicy, was definitely not near medium as I had ordered. First bite and it was so bland. The meat itself was so-so... good char but extremely bland. I needed to eat because I needed protein so I had to put salt and pepper to every bite or all you would taste was the lettuce. In the end I couldn't finish my meal. The bread and the fries were really good though. My partner tried the cubano sandwich and even though the flavors were there, it was sadly extremely dry. He had to add hot sauce for some moisture. I tried the meat and it did have flavor but it was overcooked. The drinks were fantastic! My partner tried 2 kinds of mojitos and he said he really enjoyed them! I've seen that many of the positive reviews are more towards the more traditional dishes like the picadillo, ropa Vieja or the masa de puerco so maybe some other time we give a chance and try those instead but stay away from burgers or sandwiches. read more

The Fritta burger was delicious. The chorizo and beef mix blended perfectly to provide some heat without being overly spicy. The sweet potato fries were so good that I ate them first before diving into the burger. The Havana sandwich (not pictured) was an unfortunate miss because of the lack of seasoning. Unfortunately I'd love to leave a good review because the food and mojito menu looked really good. But the service stopped us from coming in altogether. Understandably the place was busy for Saturday, we put our name down with the host for a table outside since we had our dog. When I asked how long she might think, she looked outside and estimated 30-40 minutes based on how far along the people already sat outside were. I said okay, we waited for 30-40 minutes, that turned into 50 to an hour. We came back from walking around only to find a new group sitting at one of the two outdoor tables and no call or message. Working in service myself, I thought maybe my number was misplaced or taken down wrong. When we said "excuse me" to speak to the host, she made direct eye contact with us and walked away. Maybe she remembered us and hoped we wouldn't come back, or didn't, who knows. Regardless, it was a big waste of time and an inconvenience to have waited, paid for more parking, only to be ignored. We're not from the area, so at that point we could have been home. This seems like a really great place, and we were excited to try it. By the time we got back, we were lucky to find a different cuban restaurant that was much more welcoming so late at night. read more

Stopped here for lunch after walking around Sleepy Hollow and it was pretty yummy! I got the Bongo Bowl, and the ingredients were all fresh and tasty. My only complaint is that it seemed pretty small for the price. A couple of my friends ordered sandwiches, and one got a burger, and they all said their food was good (not great), so it sounds like everything here is solid. The sweet plantains were also a win! The service is a bit slow--we were one of only a few parties in the restaurant, but never received refills from our server and had to wait for the check for a little bit. Tried The Cube Inn for first time on Sunday was looking for something savory and different as we are being over saturated with Asian & Mexican Cuisine which I love btw but wanted something closer to home as I am Dominican & Cuban American. Anyway, place was super cute and inviting, staff was lukewarm! Our drinks were super delicious I had the spicy guava margarita and my cousin whom I invited to lunch had the spicy classic margarita. We didn't have apps as it was 2p and we were starving, I had the steak sandwich and she had the Cuban (I don't eat pork, I know, how? lol) mine I ordered with Yucca fires which were super delicious not greasy and the perfect crunch. She had Tostones with her sandwich which also were cooked perfect and not greasy or gummy (under cooked) we asked for some kind of garlic mojo or a dip for both the yucca fries and tostones. We got a garlic aioli although I would have like a lot more garlic, was super yummy on everything and the mojo well I will definitely never ask for that again as it tasted like a marinade for chicken. Was bitter and heavy orange flavor and not bitter orange but like orange orange. My steak sandwich could have used some garlic butter on the inside of the bread but overall I give it a 7/10 because I got some fatty pieces which weren't fun to discover as I took a bite of my sandwich. My cousin gave her Cuban a 6/10 also because she felt the break needed garlic butter inside and out & pork was a bit dry. Overall experience was 7/10 because besides the small things with our food we loved that we sat for about 2.5/3 hours and weren't rushed out. May give it another chance with dinner next. We were excited to try as the menu looked great. I order the veggie paella which was disappointing to put it nicely. It was yellow rice with cauliflower and artichokes (weird combo) with tons of olives. The other entree was ropa vieja which tasted pretty good other than it was served room temperature. The drinks looks pretty but did not seem to have any alcohol. The oddest part of the whole experience was that the food was served by a man holding a baby. Came here for a birthday dinner with my family. The ambience was really nice, fast service and the food was very flavorful. I got the chicken breast plate which was flavorful and big portions, chicken, cheese and guava empanadas which were nicely fried. My favorite was the chicken. The croquetas were also delicious.
