Great place to grab a coffee with pandebono with my kids on a Sunday or lunch and delivery for when not in the mood for cooking. My daughter love the pan con queso. We tried the cheese empanada and it was a bit bitter. The food is decent. Not the best colombian food out there but definately worth a try. I mainly come here for the coffee and bakery on Sundays. The place is well kept and clean the staff very friendly and attentive

Soup of the Day: Sopa de Mondongo with white rice & banana Chicken empanada & Beef empanada

I called to order soup of the day and I asked the price. When I arrived the total was different than I thought it should be. I paid with credit card so I couldn't see the detailed receipt. I asked for the receipt and noticed I was charged for an item I did not ask/receive. They said it was voided but it wasn't. 1- Soup was Ok but very I'm upset because I was told the soup comes with avocado, banana & white rice. I never got the avocado. 2- I ordered a beef and a chicken empanada. They packed together and I had no clue which was beef or chicken until I opened. 3- Price is not cheap and not worthy for the service received. If I noticed the overcharged I would not add a tip to the total of the bill. I was at this place few times before I believe it was called Hornitos - no sure if is under new management now. Very disappointed.

    Cheese ball. Very tasty.

Here's the good and the bad about this place. The good: --There's sanitizer on all of the tables. --The food was very tasty. --The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. --The baked goods are very good. (I had a cheeseball and an empanada.) The bad: --The menu doesn't have prices, and when you ask for the price or more info about an item, no one there speaks english. The person who was called over to help me knew more english than the person before her, but still not enough. It was still a struggle to understand. --The prices are kinda steep! I paid $27 for a bowl of soup that had 5 shrimp, and half of a blue crab. There were other seafood items in there, but the crab and shrimp were clearly the most expensive. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but just not worth the money. --While there were shrimp and crab in the soup, it was also packed with this low quality imitation crab meat. It literally had the consistency of biting into jello or a piece of Bubblicious bubble gum. Total fail for such a flavorful meal. Based on the food, I would return, but based on the price, I can't see myself going back. I can go eat a steak at Ruth's Chris down the street for that same price. Matter of fact, Golden Krust is right across the street, and I can get a patty from there that is double the size for the same price I paid for an empanada at this place.

Amazing hidden gem, it's a simple place with very authentic tasty Colombian food, the kind of place you go today and you wanna go back the next day, that's what I did! My favorite was the Bandeja Paisa, get the one with Churrasco! The meat is so good, it's huge! I hope not many people find this place cause it's just as good as it is now, but I feel the urge to give them a review. They're baked goods and coffees are awesome too! Try it all.

When we went to this restaurant a few weeks ago, it had the name Makondo, not Pantojarse…read more The environment in Makondo was welcoming and warm, with a mural of los cafeteros that immediately lets you know you're in Colombia. There is a take-away area at the front where you can purchase breads, arepas, and other easily portable foods, in addition to the tables and seating area in the back of the restaurant. We opted to dine-in for breakfast and try a variety of plates: calentado, arepa con chicharron, morcilla, and bunuelos. The calentado transported me back to Medellin and, honestly, it kept me full for the entire day. The morchilla, arepas, and chicharrones were cooked to perfection and we were provided with a variety of sauces to add an extra boost of flavor. Absolutely everything was delicious and the prices are incredibly reasonable when compared with the other breakfast restaurants in the area. The service was very friendly and attentive. Most of the clients spoke Spanish, including us, but we did hear them speaking English with a few tables that morning. This restaurant is a little piece of Colombia in White Plains and brings some much needed diversity (and flavor!) to the regular breakfast scene in this city.
