The name alone is so cute and whimsical - who WOULDN'T want to visit a 'Pie Bar'!? This review will focus on some savory and dessert pies we ordered as takeout to serve at a party. Tofu Pot Pie - I love that this was an option - it's so hard to find a tofu pot pie anywhere, let alone in a cute little empanada style shape! One was pretty filling and could easily be a full lunch portion for some. The crust was buttery and flaky and perfectly golden, as was the crust on everything. Spanakopita Hand Pie - very tasty and flavorful. The darkness of the spinach threw me off at first, but this was really yummy and I could've eaten multiple. Street Corn Hand Pie - great flavors and unique combination Blackberry Tangerine Pie with crumble on top (I think this was the fruit combo?) - I'm not normally a huge fan of fruit pies as they just don't excite me as much, but this one had such a phenomenal sugary crumble on top that I ate it right up. The fruit wasn't too hard or too mushy and blended well together. Key Lime Pie - a very rich, creamy, decadent pie. This seems higher in cream content than some other key lime pies and filled me up quickly so I could only have a little bit in one sitting, but it's phenomenal. Many at the party went back for seconds of this one. Service - we called to place an order ahead of time. Day of, the Pie Bar called to say the tofu option was running low, but they could secure us some extras if we wanted since we only ordered one. We really only needed the one for the lone vegetarian, but this thoughtfulness was so appreciated! This place is a slam dunk and I always look forward to seeing what will be next on their rotating menu. I wish some of my favorites stayed around longer - I really loved their Mac n Cheese hand pie that I had once years ago - it was flaky and incredible, I dream of it!

The woman approved. Quick digression - very clean bathroom, w an interesting painted sink (see pix)....and an old Remington typewriter. The lemon bar was amazing. My lips were so puckered the rest of my 50+ mile ride home, I was fantasizing about my good friend, also named Lucy, and what I could do with those puckered lips. The best part was that it wasn't overly sweet. It was light, fruity, refreshing, and the pineapple pieces throughout gave it great texture. My mom got half raspberry and half pineapple from the non dairy sorbet options and really enjoyed both. I went with the Black Raspberry Chip and it was so good. This is that old-school ice cream I grew up with. If you've had it before, you know exactly what I mean. That said, after trying another place just three minutes away, I do think that other ice cream is creamier. I personally prefer a creamier texture, while my wife likes a firmer scoop, so it really comes down to preference. One thing to know before ordering: when they say "one scoop" they really mean one scoop. Don't expect an oversized serving. There are chickens and cows roaming around the farm, which adds to the experience. The animals looked happy, and while seating is limited, there are both indoor and outdoor places to sit and enjoy your ice cream. Overall, this is still a great stop and one I've enjoyed for years.
