Trying to place an order well in advance was a nightmare. On three separate occasions, I was given different excuses: "You don't need to place it this far in advance," "The person who takes orders isn't here," and "We'll have someone call you back." Unfortunately, no one ever followed up. I was eventually able to place my order just a few days before the shower. On the day of the event, I went to pick up the order, only to be told they didn't have it. After some back-and-forth, they admitted they had forgotten to put the order in. As a solution, they offered full-size cannolis instead of the mini ones I had ordered, at the same price. While the situation was frustrating, I accepted this as a reasonable compromise given the circumstances. However, when I arrived at the venue and opened the boxes, I discovered that the cannoli's they promised were missing. I immediately called to address the issue, but the staff was rude and unhelpful. The only resolution they offered was a small gift card, which did not make up for the inconvenience or the impact on the event. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience, and I cannot recommend this bakery based on their poor communication, lack of organization, and inadequate customer service.

I secured a whole lemon pound cake and 6 of their pound cups, a cool spin on cupcakes where the cake is more like the texture of a pound cake. Everything was truly amazing. You can taste the soul and love in every bite. The cakes are denser than regular bakery cake, as pound cakes should be. But they are also moist and just perfect. I loved everything we got, lemon pound cake, pound cups in the flavors of coconut (their best seller), strawberry shortcake and strawberry, lemon cheesecake with a crunch. Overall, my favorite were the coconut pound cups. I'm really loving coconut cakes right now. They are in East Hartford, which I feel like most people aren't usually in unless you live or have something specific to do there but I highly recommend taking the special trip if you want a wonderful cake. I believe it was a shortbread base and the use of honey vs a heavier alternative or caramel kept it from being a sugar a bomb, which I quite liked. It was another well balanced treat. The blueberry lemonade was also quite tasty. I loved the interior space. It's quite spacious with plenty of seating to sit with your treats and enjoy them there. Having such a popular chain on Asylum where there's rarely parking causes such a jam late nights. Since there are few places open past 12 downtown, the line is always LONG. I've been on a couple separate occasions and it's been a hit or miss. I've had cookies that literally cannot be picked up because of how soft they were and I've had their "burnt" cookies, which were really just cooked appropriately. No shade, especially as a boneless cookie lover, but tf is up with all these chains serving super soft cookies??? Ordering ahead (20-35mins) is gonna be your best bet. Even then you'll likely wait for 10 additional mins to get the cookies once you're inside.
