Matcha latte with oatmilk and lavender
    Lanasha R.

Yania is SO cool! Her vibes, her passion for the BOP, and her killer matcha making skills really turned my afternoon around. Thank you. I got the iced matcha latte with oat milk and lavender. It was one of the best matchas I've ever had. It was sweet and refreshing with the added lavender. I'm a lil embarrassed by how fast I drank a large but I loved every single sip. The BOP is in the same space as Refuge Tattoos but they're separate businesses. I love watching Pratt St come back to life with all these local businesses. They'll definitely be seeing me soon!

I was very excited to try this place as I love chai and wanted to try their version of it. Unfortunately it just overall was a bit of a letdown and pretty pricey. Located on Pratt Street, it shares a space with a tattoo parlor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is small but the vibes are great. Lots of art, some merchandise and a bit of indoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their drink sizes for hot drinks are 8oz, 12oz and 16 oz. A medium chai was $6 and I added a shot to make it a dirty chai. With tax and tip it ended up being over $8 which is pretty crazy for a 12 oz. Drink. The chai normally comes unsweetened but they do offer homemade gulab jamun syrup. I tried a bit of that. Overall, my problem with the drink was that it wasn't all that flavorful. I love a punchier, more spiced chai flavor and this didn't really do it for me.

Ever since I saw our CM Lanasha's review for the BOP, I knew I had to try them out for my self. The BOP is located on Pratt Street in Hartford. This is easily my favorite street in all of Hartford. It is so lively, with a variety of local businesses and more are on the way. The BOP and Refuge Tattoos share a space. This doesn't mean if you're getting a coffee, you must also get a tattoo, or vice versa. They are simply two business that share a space. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space inside of course is super artsy. It is very small, but the design of the space is so relaxing and cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In the rear is where you can get your tattoo. I met Jack the owner of BOP, he was super welcoming and kind. I asked if he could make me a Matcha. For some reason, I was in my rare matcha type of mood. I got a small iced matcha, with some type of floral flavoring. This was over $6.00, a bit pricy if you ask me. I can honestly say I've never had a tastier matcha. It was so silky, smooth and deliciously sweet. Yum! It truly makes me question every one I've had before the BOP. There was none of that bitterness that's typical in matcha. I'll be returning to BOP very soon to try some of their coffee options.

This man makes a MEAN latte, 10/10, I tried to take a photo but I chugged half of the coffee before I even got out of the parking lot! This was the kind of latte you're up in the middle of the night thinking about drinking it in the morning.

They have plenty of seating, some upholstered furniture and we saw a few Friday morning telecommuters working on their laptops and sipping their coffees. Our order was a Chai Latte and a Cold Brew - each was $5. The pours were very large, and I swear that my cold brew was the very best I've ever had. I love coffee, drinking it hot or cold, and what I had here is in my all-time Top Five Percent. It was that good. I had a sip of my wife's Chai Latte and thought it was excellent as well. What really impressed me were the flavors of both drinks- not overpowering, but strong enough to appreciate them. The Coffee Guy has it all - specialty coffees, matcha, chai, espresso drinks, and pastries and sweet treats to pair with your coffee cup. We couldn't resist grabbing a few on our way out, and we took home a box with a Spinach croissant, iced blueberry scone, and a cruffin (croissant/muffin hybrid). We loved our visit to the Coffee Guy, and I was so impressed by the total experience, I just subscribed to their newsletter. So the next time we're looking for a midday break or afternoon pick-me-up..... I know a guy!

I went to their downtown Hartford location. The space itself was comfortable, and the service was warm and welcoming. They don't offer as many specialty drinks or flavors as other places, but that's okay. Just keep that in mind. I ordered the honey mint cold brew. It was extremely straight forward, but also extremely tasty. The coffee was strong and had great depth of flavors. Very good quality coffee. The mint and honey complimented and highlighted it, playing only supporting roles. So that was all great. Unfortunately, the parking and traffic challenges that come with the downtown location will keep me from returning as often as I would like to. But if I were in the area, I'd happily make the stop! I have heard equally wonderful things about their Glastonbury location, though, so I'm excited to give that one a try too. If you're in the area, or just up to the Hartford traffic and parking, I would highly recommend Victus.

I can't believe some of the reviews. The coffee is roasted in house, the syrups are from scratch. If they could fit a cow in their (way too small) parking lot they'd probably have fresh milk and cream, too! Went in yesterday for a work meeting and the service was even better than usual. The vibe and atmosphere here is great for meetings, business or casual. My associate and I split a Siphon Pot to start. If you have the time, this is the very best way to enjoy your coffee. It really pulls the flavor out of the beans, on par with a pour over or aeropress, but it's also perfect for sharing. Afterwards, we both got Cortados, which were excellent, and I brought ice coffee back to the office for the man we left behind to run things. He sighed happily after sipping it, commenting that he could tell it was from J René. Why not 5 stars? The food is ok but I'm not a big fan of the pastries I've tried here. They're "fine". Normally my wife will get one and I'll try a bite or two. She's really into croissants and won't get them from here, saying they're a waste of money. The prices can feel a little steep here, especially compared to other good, local spots. Lastly, the parking lot is so tiny and during busy times of day the road can get crowded as well.
