I was very excited to try this place as I love chai and wanted to try their version of it. Unfortunately it just overall was a bit of a letdown and pretty pricey. Located on Pratt Street, it shares a space with a tattoo parlor. The inside is small but the vibes are great. Lots of art, some merchandise and a bit of indoor seating. Their drink sizes for hot drinks are 8oz, 12oz and 16 oz. A medium chai was $6 and I added a shot to make it a dirty chai. With tax and tip it ended up being over $8 which is pretty crazy for a 12 oz. Drink. The chai normally comes unsweetened but they do offer homemade gulab jamun syrup. I tried a bit of that. Overall, my problem with the drink was that it wasn't all that flavorful. I love a punchier, more spiced chai flavor and this didn't really do it for me.

Yania is SO cool! Her vibes, her passion for the BOP, and her killer matcha making skills really turned my afternoon around. Thank you. I got the iced matcha latte with oat milk and lavender. It was one of the best matchas I've ever had. It was sweet and refreshing with the added lavender. I'm a lil embarrassed by how fast I drank a large but I loved every single sip. The BOP is in the same space as Refuge Tattoos but they're separate businesses. I love watching Pratt St come back to life with all these local businesses. They'll definitely be seeing me soon!

Ever since I saw our CM Lanasha's review for the BOP, I knew I had to try them out for my self. The BOP is located on Pratt Street in Hartford. This is easily my favorite street in all of Hartford. It is so lively, with a variety of local businesses and more are on the way. The BOP and Refuge Tattoos share a space. This doesn't mean if you're getting a coffee, you must also get a tattoo, or vice versa. They are simply two business that share a space. The space inside of course is super artsy. It is very small, but the design of the space is so relaxing and cool. In the rear is where you can get your tattoo. I met Jack the owner of BOP, he was super welcoming and kind. I asked if he could make me a Matcha. For some reason, I was in my rare matcha type of mood. I got a small iced matcha, with some type of floral flavoring. This was over $6.00, a bit pricy if you ask me. I can honestly say I've never had a tastier matcha. It was so silky, smooth and deliciously sweet. Yum! It truly makes me question every one I've had before the BOP. There was none of that bitterness that's typical in matcha. I'll be returning to BOP very soon to try some of their coffee options.

Great coffee and nice place to hang out. I got the Burundi Hafi (the proprietor helped me pick) to go home with. I'll surely be back!

"Nothing you could say could tear me away from my guy…read moreNothing you could do, 'cause I'm stuck like glue to my guy" (Mary Wells) We took a morning coffee break, and had a wonderful time chatting, relaxing, sipping our drinks, and enjoying the friendly, mellow, and very chill atmosphere at the Café by New England Coffee Guy. They have plenty of seating, some upholstered furniture and we saw a few Friday morning telecommuters working on their laptops and sipping their coffees. Our order was a Chai Latte and a Cold Brew - each was $5. The pours were very large, and I swear that my cold brew was the very best I've ever had. I love coffee, drinking it hot or cold, and what I had here is in my all-time Top Five Percent. It was that good. I had a sip of my wife's Chai Latte and thought it was excellent as well. What really impressed me were the flavors of both drinks- not overpowering, but strong enough to appreciate them. The Coffee Guy has it all - specialty coffees, matcha, chai, espresso drinks, and pastries and sweet treats to pair with your coffee cup. We couldn't resist grabbing a few on our way out, and we took home a box with a Spinach croissant, iced blueberry scone, and a cruffin (croissant/muffin hybrid). We loved our visit to the Coffee Guy, and I was so impressed by the total experience, I just subscribed to their newsletter. So the next time we're looking for a midday break or afternoon pick-me-up..... I know a guy!

Not too sweet but not bitter either. We talked to the owner for a little bit and he was very nice and personable. We will be back in the summer with our dog to sit out on the patio.

Afterwards I stay downstairs and experienced the coffee shop. I ordered a gluten-free breakfast sandwich, which was really good. The bread was a bit firm, but I actually appreciated that since most gluten-free bread tends to fall apart. This one held up nicely. My honey latte was absolutely delicious, smooth, perfectly sweet, and beautifully made. There's also a cute outdoor seating area, great for relaxing with coffee on a nice day. Parking is on the street around the corner, since the street the shop is on is closed to cars and open to pedestrians only, which adds to the charm of the area. You order at the counter, get a number, and they bring your food right to your table. When you're finished, you clear your own dishes to the bin, which keeps the place tidy. I also noticed the staff going around regularly wiping tables and keeping everything clean and welcoming. Overall, Bloom Bake Shop has a great vibe, tasty food, and friendly service. Definitely worth checking out!

Is it a flower shop? Is it a coffee shop? Is it a bakery? Of course, it's all three. We popped in a little before their 1:00 Sunday closing today, and the only bakery items remaining were four lemon blueberry scones. We scooped up two of them at $3.75 each. Now a scone isn't always a scone. Some have the density and weight of a doorstop or a hockey puck. Not these, they were as good as any scone we've ever sampled. They were soft, fresh, and bursting with lemon and blueberry fruit and taste. They were exceptionally great. The interior was very pretty with flower displays, booths, tables, and plenty of goodies for sale like bags of granola, pastries, and sandwiches. The exterior dining patio was packed with customers finishing off their lunches or late breakfasts while sipping their coffees, espressos, cappuccinos, and lattes. Thank you, Bloom Bake Shop, for a very enjoyable visit.

They have plenty of sweet and savory treats to go along with your coffee cup - cannoli's, macarons, baklava, cake pops, savories, tortas, croissants, bombolinis, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, scones, etc. I stopped in to do some prep for a morning Board of Directors meeting and ordered a large drip coffee and a cheese and spinach pastry with a criss-cross latticework top. Breakfast was around $10. The coffee was excellent, and far too much for me to drink at one sitting. It was served in a huge ceramic mug, so I asked them to pour it into a "to go" cup when I left. The pastry was delicious, a great balance of spinach, cheese, flaky pastry, and crunchy top. I loved it. I grabbed a small table in the back and went through my notes while sipping my coffee and people watching. I got a kick out of the young lady to my left who was simultaneously working on her laptop and two phones while having her breakfast. She sure beat me in the multi-tasking department. Service was excellent, the friendly gent and lady who helped me were wonderful and super friendly. I sure enjoyed this private non-chain coffee stop.
