How could I possibly have been going to Starbucks over this delight?! I'm so sorry, friends. I should have my queer card revoked and sent to straight jail. This place is incredible. It's decorated like every queer neurospicy teen's dream, which is 100% my aesthetic. Firstly, the drinks: They have a variety of delightfully named beverages, both with and without espresso. I picked my Creme Bru-Lattee and paid for it before I even noticed the MLP:FIM themed bevs, but tell Twilight Sparkle I'll be back for her. The iced confection was a dream. My girlfriend ordered the thai iced tea and she also enjoyed it, but admitted that mine was better. THE BAKED GOODS!!! Having to only pick one to eat was challenging and, frankly, homophobic. How can I possibly pick one jewel in an entire treasure chest? Sure, I could have brought some home to do but that is besides the point, mama is on a budget. I had the gluten free chocolate peanut butter torte which did not seem GF at all and was heavenly. I admit I was audibly moaning while enjoying it. I made a scene. I am looking forward to going back to amend for my sins of coffee breaks wasted at the starbucks down the street. In closing. Yaaaas queen!

I've heard so much about Tony's Flour Shop, I am so happy I recently got to check them out my self…read more I am almost never in Cromwell, but on this occasion I was meeting a friend and Tony's was the perfect midpoint for us. This place is so adorable on the inside, it is small and pretty intimate, but the decor is precious! There are so many toadstools (the oversized red mushrooms with polka dots) and rainbows everywhere. Tony's specialty's are all his mom's recipes. There was a delightful selection of an assortment of sweets. Of course you can get your coffees and teas too. Each month they change their drink specials. I got a slice of their Salted Caramel Pecan Blondie and a May Specialty Latte called Fay Valentine. The Blondie was rich with caramel on the outside but decadently sweet, yet crunchy. This is an indulgence for sure! The Fay Valentine is a Banana and Peanut Butter Latte, absolutely delicious! I kept slurping long after it was gone! Please go check out the restroom at Tony's, even if nature isn't calling you to go. I have never before encountered a more magical restroom. If I tell you there's Alice herself hanging upside down from the ceiling, maybe that's enough reason to go. I had a wonderful time with my friend at Tony's Flour Shop, the staff is super helpful and friendly. I cannot wait to return.

Had seen the bright orange colors from the street and heard about the process of Nitro ice cream…read morebut I finally had the opportunity to stop in. Well...Not sure why I waited so long. Probably one of the coolest ice cream experiences that I've had. For those who don't know, Nitro Cream & Crumbz makes there ice cream for you on the spot using Liquid Nitrogen blenders. It essentially freezes the mix on the spot. A cool process that yields much creamier ice cream (that I read and in person confirmed). This isn't just your typical ice cream scoop and plop experience. During the experience, cool smoke from the liquid nitrogen fills the area as they stir your selected ice cream flavor. The process of the employees adding the ingredients is done all within your line of sight for a full investment into your delicious treat. The flavors are FUN and the end result is visually appealing to eat. I myself got the HOLY CANNOLI which had Riccota vanilla ice cream, crushed cannoli shell, dark chocolate and white chocolate chips wrapped in a spongy bubble waffle. It was delicious and creamy (as you hope from doing your homework on Liquid Nitrogen ice cream ). The staff were extremely friendly, bubbly even and helped explain popular options for a first time Nitro ice cream eater. Best part of this whole thing is having so many other great flavors left to try on my next trip. Highly recommend and prices are VERY reasonable (some might argue a little low for the experience you get).

Today a group of Yelpers met here before our street clean up and had our breakfast outside. They had options from the bakery window such as donuts and bars, muffins to breakfast sandwiches and bowls. I had a GF muffin. I was happy to see that had a few gluten free goodies to choose from. They don't have any gluten free bread. However, my fellow Yelpers that did choose breakfast sandwiches..ohhh my they looked amazing!! The bread was so bread, it looked heavy , home made and nothing like a fresh made sandwich. Coffee were good as well! Good to know about this place. Another coffee spot to add to my list when I just want to meet up with a friend and sit outside! It was delicious. Thank you!

I was in Middletown this weekend and remembered that I've wanted to visit Cake Batter & Roll since…read moreI learned about it on Yelp and/or Instagram. It's located near Main Street in downtown Middletown. The shop is cute and service was exceptional. CRB sells desserts, baked goods, bread and made to order cakes. Although I posted a pic of 3 year old Lila's birthday cake, it was not my cake and I wasn't invited to the party. Lila apparently didn't think I was cool enough. Maybe next year. Very cool cake though. I would want one of my friends or family members to have a cake that cute. I also did not have one of the Super Bowl team color cake push pops. I tried to order one, but they were only displayed for pre-sale. They looked great though. We did order a turtle brownie, a salted caramel bar, a blueberry muffin, a churro bar and a loaf of rye bread. Our family split a number of these things. I thought the brownie, caramel bar and blue berry muffin were all terrific. The bread and churro bar didn't really connect for me. The bread was not what I would call a traditional rye. It was denser and seemed a touch pumpernickelly in flavor. CRB had other breads that looked good though. The churro bar didn't remind me enough of a churro to warrant the name and there was a dense cheesecake type layer that needed more of an identity. Overall, there was more great, than not great though. I would definitely recommend Cake Batter & Roll if you're in Middletown. They have some tasty desserts and they can make gorgeous stuff. Four Stars
