If you need a bakery for a custom cake, definitely try Sweets By Jenna. They were able to take my custom order with just one week ahead of the event. They made a gorgeous two tier cake for a baby shower that fit the theme perfectly. Even the little pumpkins that were decoration were made of fondant! Their storefront has a lot of other treats available too, so definitely check them out.

I've seen Jenna's beautiful cupcakes and royal icing cookies on social media and finally made the effort to visit her shop. She's located in Rocky Hill and her treats/flavors change weekly. I highly recommend following Sweets By Jenna on Instagram to stay up to date. We decided to try a little bit of everything. We got two royal icing cookies, two cupcakes, two macarons, a cookie croissant, and a Gold Oreo chunkie. I loved the royal icing cookies--we got a lemon and orange slice shaped. It was a yummy buttery, shortbread-like cookie, with the prefect thin layer of sweet royal icing. Plus, the designs were very cute and had a lot of detail. The Espresso Martini cupcake was a big hit. It was a coffee flavored cupcake filled with kahlua mousse and topped with baileys buttercream, WOW! The Lemon Cream cupcake was filled with lemon mousse and topped with lemon buttercream. I loved that she offers cupcakes with fillings and that the buttercream wasn't too sugary. My mom's macarons didn't make it out of the store, instantly were eaten. They were soft and had a lot of flavor. They might had been the best macarons she's had around Connecticut. The cookie croissant and the Golden Oreo chunkie were also big hits. The chunkie was a loaded cookie with a handful of white chocolate chip cookies and crushed up golden Oreos. Sweets By Jenna is the perfect spot to treat yourself. The shop wasn't busy for a Saturday morning and had a great selection of all the treats. I highly recommend giving her a try!

I've been enjoying treats maybe a little too frequently from Sweets by Jenna so I figured it's time to give them a review. The shop is decorated in a really cute way and they always have a large assortment of different treats such as cupcakes, full cakes, macarons, cookies with royal icing and buttercream and more. Service has always been friendly. I love that cupcake flavors change weekly and they always have a great crumb, moist and nice flavor. One of my favorite tries recently was their rendition of the hostess. Also tried their blueberry lemon cake straight from the case where they were quickly able to customize a message to write on it. Overall the cake was really good. I wish they used a little less frosting as sometimes it overpowered the cake. I also could be wrong but it seems their recipes have evolved a bit over the years to use slightly less sugar which is actually a good thing. I love when desserts aren't cloyingly sweet but just right. Definitely recommend checking them out.

The amount of times I'll find an excuse to get myself to Sweets by Jenna speaks to how good their treats are. My husband and I are obsessed with their sugar cookies, with him sometimes sitting there and thinking about them. His favorite is the buttercream cookie while I like royal icing. Walking in is like being in a wonderland of goodies to choose from when you pick from the case. Meanwhile if you need a preorder, Sweets by Jenna got you. We also love the Italian rainbow cookie and the different cupcake flavors each week. Heard funfetti you can't skip and I absolutely agree. From the different cakes and cookies flavors I've tried from events over the years too who got them from Sweets by Jenna, everything has hit the mark! Can't wait to see what event I pre order with Sweets by Jenna next. (Or find my next excuse to grab sweets from the bakery)

They did an amazing job on short notice! They made the vision come to life. Would definitely order again!

Used sweets by Jenna twice so far. Once for my daughter's birthday, once for my sons. Both times people raved about how delicious the cakes were. Not to mention they were made with care and quality ingredients. Both the cakes held up well on summer days and thru 20-45 minutes of transportation. Customer service is quick and friendly. And the cakes were made accurately and looked as good as they tasted. This place makes you want to find a reason to need a cake! They will be our go to for birthdays and events to come!

Not only are these cookies delicious, they are absolutely breathtaking! The attention to detail and level of skill to make these designs is so impressive. In terms of flavor, this was one of the best cookies I've ever tried! We had a custom order for a friends 28th birthday. She loves rosé and skiing - and Jenna executed these so perfectly. The service was good. We ordered via phone, then picked up in store day of. We didn't interact much but everything went smoothly! Would recommend for your next birthday, bridal party, bachelorette, or other event.

What we asked for vs what we receive

We used Sweets by Jenna to create cookies of our dog for our wedding. We used them before and enjoyed our products so we felt confident to send them what we wanted along with a photo of our dog. They said they can definitely do it and it would be a cartoon version we said perfect! When we received them they truly looked like a non professionals work. All cookies were different, the ears looked like they were smudged in with a finger, the eyes were decorated very poorly and no cookie resembled our dog. This was so upsetting since it was a wedding favor planned for guests. When I called and very kindly expressed my sadness the response was that they thought they were cute and they tasted good. They also said the photo I sent them was not the same breed (which shouldn't matter when it comes to overall execution). They then offered a 30% refund and for the cookies back. This was such an upsetting experience. We were really excited when we first became customers I even used them for my company events. We will not be returning because of the quality and the lack of care for their returning customers.

This will be the place I will order all the cakes I need from now on! I placed an order for an anniversary cake on the website and they called to confirm the details and payment the next day which was very convenient. I submitted some inspiration photos but Sweets by Jenna completely blew my expectations out of the water! The cake was so beautiful I did not even want to eat it! The almond cake itself was very delicious and had a delicate crumb. The strawberry and vanilla buttercreams were just the right amount of buttery and sweet. The bakery itself is also adorable and of course I had to grab a pumpkin chocolate chip cookie not pictured but was one of the best cookies I have ever had! I will definitely be stopping in again to get more!

My Two Littles absolutely love Sweets by Jenna! The owner and staff are always nice and greet you with a hello and their cases are always stocked with all kinds of tasty treats. Anything to put a smile on your face or your littles and to cure that craving for something sweet. I am a fan of her cakes, nice and light cake not heavy at all and perfect sweetness.

Sweets by Jenna is a great dessert and specialty cake shop in Rocky Hill. I don't know when it opened in the same shopping plaza shared by businesses such as Michel Angelo's and Elizabeth's, but I'm in that plaza every couple months and I just saw it for the first time today. From their Facebook page, it looks like Jenna Is an experienced area dessert and cake maker who has been in business for a while, but this Rocky Hill brick and mortar is new. Upon entering, I first noticed a decent size line. I'm not the most patient person, and I almost left. But then I thought, "This place is new and they already have enough of a following to have a line." I stuck it out and I'm very glad I did. I started to observe other things as I waited. The two women working (I believe one was an owner) were very happy and friendly and provided great customer service. In addition, the store was cute. Black witch hats hung from the ceiling. The minimalistic white decor provided a great backdrop for the stars of the show - the desserts. Sweets by Jenna had gorgeous desserts such as cupcakes, cookies, cake, brownies, blondies and macarons. Some souped-up classics and some highly stylish modern stuff too. I posted a pic of an awesome abstract strawberry-looking cake. I also posted a pic of cool Halloween themed cake pops. I bought a few things for the family. I tried the amazing salted caramel pretzel cookie. Sweet, salty and crunchy. The blondie I sampled was good as well. My wife liked the brownie, but thought it could have been a bit softer. 4.5 Stars, with a round up to 5 Stars. It may be a straight 5 Stars as I try more things. Sweets by Jenna is off to a great start. You should look them up if you're getting lunch at Michelangelo's, Elizabeth's or Carbone's Prime, or even if you just need dessert for home, or need to order a specialty cake.!

The staff was friendly during my visit, and I didn't run into any issues service-wise. I'll be honest...I'm not the biggest fan of pre-made sandwiches that have been sitting for a bit, and unfortunately the sandwich I tried didn't really wow me. I was expecting a little more flavor, especially from the turkey. I didn't try a pizza slice, though I was told it's good. The pastries, however, were a highlight. The Dubai tart was flavorful but on the drier side for my taste (definitely needed some milk). The pumpkin croissant was very light and airy--absolutely loved that one. Drink-wise, the tiramisu latte with oat milk was tasty and a solid 7.5/10. The strawberry lemonade with boba was just okay for me--nothing fancy, but I'd be open to trying a different drink next time. Overall, the ambiance was really cute. A nice mix of people working on laptops and groups catching up, which made the space feel cozy and inviting. Definitely a lovely spot and worth checking out at least once.

"She got muffins for sons, she got cornbread too Sweet rolls…read moreand jelly, boys I'm really tellin' you She had the baker shop boogie It's the nicest thing in town" (Willie Nix) We had a wonderful visit to Bake Market today and walked out with a ton of high-quality stuff for under $39 before tax. Our haul included a big tray of eggplant parmesan ($11.99), a small container of chicken salad ($7.99), a big container of Street Corn Salad ($11.99), a serving of Mango Pineapple Bread ($2.95) and Coconut Zucchini Bread ($2.95), and an Everything Biscuit (just $1.49). Bake Market has refrigerated and freezer cases on the walls with entrees and pastas and sauces and salads and desserts. It reminded me of the Pasta Vita store we used to visit in Avon. We split the chicken salad for lunch on Wednesday and enjoyed it very much, it was heavy on diced chicken and light enough on the diced celery and mayo that it was very hearty and not overrepresented by the rest. We decided to split the Everything Biscuit with lunch and I really liked the texture and savory taste of the everything spice. We split the Street Corn salad for Friday dinner, and it was a big portion of sliced Romaine, diced bacon, sliced radishes, roasted corn, tortilla strips, and grated Cotija cheese. It was very good; the lettuce was super fresh with plenty of bacon and corn. We split the Mango Pineapple Bread for dessert and that was excellent too. It was dense, sweet, full of flavor, and quite wonderful. The Coconut Zucchini Bread was so-so. I didn't think it had much of a flavor, and besides the blandness it was incredibly messy with shredded coconut everywhere. Our Bake Market sampling ended with their Eggplant Parmesan. It was a massive 2-lb tray that cost just $11.99. And how can I NOT mention that containers of fresh pasta AND sauce were included! We made four servings out of it. The eggplant parm was made out of a very thick single slab of breaded/fried unpeeled eggplant, and not the multiple layers of thin slices stacked up lasagna-style you customarily see. It had plenty of sauce and plenty of cheese, but how was the eggplant itself? I gotta tell you, when I saw that thick slab, my radar went up because I had a feeling it would be rubbery, tough, and unappetizing. But my doubts were short-lived after my first bite. It was delicious and tender and full of flavor without a hint of grease. Honestly, it was one of the best representations of eggplant I've had in a while. So, there you have it, a nearly perfect score on a variety of foods, and a very satisfactory $39 haul that scored high on quality and value.

I didn't know what to expect, but it was delicious -- the perfect mesh of flaky and doughy textures with the slight warmth was divine. I also saw they had pistachio matcha lattes so I decided to try one. It was surprisingly pretty tasty despite the color not being a very deep green. They also offer several samples, which I was excited about, but I was disappointed because they were all salty -- even the zucchini bread that I expected to be more neutral/sweet. The bagels were also very flat. Maybe their sweets just happen to be better?
