    Ham and cheese croissant
    Jason P.

Bake Market, which I understand is affiliated with Old Wethersfield's The Charles, recently started their Soft Opening and officially opens at its Silas Deane Ave, Rocky Hill location on 11/29/23. Bake Market is part bakery, part coffee shop and part prepared food market. My purchases were limited to a few baked goods that I shared with my family, but I noticed that they're selling (and presumably using) coffee from nearby Drumroll Coffee Roasters. The cooler case included prepared foods such as pasta, sauce, meatballs and chicken parm. The shop is small, and at least at this stage of their very brief time open, they have no seating. Given the size of the shop, I'd guess they won't have seating. The shop has a minimalistic decorating vibe, but it's very clean and functional. Otherwise, I wouldn't say the atmosphere is intended to be a big selling point. I tried part of a brownie, part of a ham and cheese croissant and part of a "Spanakopita" scone. They were all at least good. The croissant had a different texture (it was more heavy and crispy, than light and flaky) than many good croissants, but it worked. There was a thin piece of deli type ham folded over so there was a double ham layer. The cheese was melted and hardened. I would definitely order this again. The Spanakopita scone was good-interesting. It's a heavy scone, but especially in the middle, it was somewhat soft and it was fresh. The exterior was hard relative to many scones. I've never had a scone like this flavor-wise. It definitely presented with Spanakopita flavor notes. I noted a spicy dill vibe. This wouldn't be my everyday scone because the taste is strong, but it's a good change of pace scone. I had a very small sliver of a fudge brownie because I bought it for my wife. It was insanely delicious. Rich. Moist. Decadent. I highly recommend buying a few. Service was friendly. Understandably, Bake was still working on developing muscle memory with things like the payment system, but that will come soon. I had a good first experience with Bake, and I'm excited to see where they go. 4.25 Stars. This rating is partially based upon the fact that many of the best bakeries in Hartford County have better atmospheres and decor vibes.

Blue Milk - cold brew with blue raspberry cold foam

I came here for coffee with my husband. I ordered one of the monthly specials - Blue Milk (cold brew with blue raspberry cold foam). The cold foam was really good and had the perfect raspberry taste. The ready-to-go meals looked pretty good, as well as the bakery items, and the pricing seemed reasonable. I do plan on returning and trying something for dessert to go with my coffee!

Freezing cold out today so I had to drive my car to get it warmed up. I got warmed up at Bake Market which is becoming one of my favorites. Got a Chicken Parmesan [with bonus extra sauce and extra pasta] dinner to have tomorrow fin the cold afternoon. Also got an outrageous Parmesan Scallion Scone that I devoured as soon as I got home. A Cranberry Orange Muffin for breakfast tomorrow and a Key Lime Creampuff for my neighbor who loves Key Lime and it was the last one left. Maybe she will save me a bite...NOT! They are very helpful here and welcoming so it is real easy to stock up.

I've been looking for a cookie croissant in the area since I saw the trend-- and it's so yummy! They have GF options which is great. They also have a wide variety of heat-at-home meal options. Cute ambience!

Fresh chocolate croissant that they offered warmed. It was mouthwateringly delicious!

Our First impression as soon as we walk in was how spacious and cozy it looked. Walking to the counter to see how many treats they had was priceless, trying to choose one was hard, we wanted to get everything: ) I tried a delicious chicken parmesan croissant my honey ordered a Parma Croissant that looked and tasted delicious. I also got a Peach Margo Green tea refresher that tasted nothing like Peach Margo. But everything else was really good. The staff was friendly during my visit, and I didn't run into any issues service-wise. I'll be honest...I'm not the biggest fan of pre-made sandwiches that have been sitting for a bit, and unfortunately the sandwich I tried didn't really wow me. I was expecting a little more flavor, especially from the turkey. I didn't try a pizza slice, though I was told it's good. The pastries, however, were a highlight. The Dubai tart was flavorful but on the drier side for my taste (definitely needed some milk). The pumpkin croissant was very light and airy--absolutely loved that one. Drink-wise, the tiramisu latte with oat milk was tasty and a solid 7.5/10. The strawberry lemonade with boba was just okay for me--nothing fancy, but I'd be open to trying a different drink next time. Overall, the ambiance was really cute. A nice mix of people working on laptops and groups catching up, which made the space feel cozy and inviting. Definitely a lovely spot and worth checking out at least once.

And that adorableness comes in twenty flavor varieties - peanut butters, candies, fruits, cookies, and of course...chocolates. They cost between $1 and $1.20 each depending on the quantity you want. I bought a box of fifteen for $15. I had some time to kill before my appointment in Rocky Hill, so I also ordered a small coffee, lemon, and almond donut to enjoy on site. Now that's easier said than done because the store is small and only has a counter with two stools. Luckily, both were vacant so I settled in, drank their excellent freshly made coffee (small for $3.50) and savored my little donut treats. Indulge By Palazzo also specializes in coffees and protein shakes to help you wash down those donuts, and it looks like they are set up to sell ice cream in season. If you are a donut hound, and appreciate adorableness, indulge yourself with a visit to Palazzo and walk out with a box of their petite sweet treats.
