This was such a great bakery. They had such a delightful assortment of Italian pastries in Macarons and all kinds of goodies. They seem to tend toward the larger sizes in portions which Mike really appreciated. We went while we were camping in Connecticut and I read the reviews on yelp which brought us to this location. And they were spot on. We enjoyed the selection and the service. I felt safe inside with all the precautions that they took. The macarons were excellent and the other pastries that we got were very very good. Definitely worth a trip to try some of these amazing goodies.

Chocolate frosted with rainbow sprinkles! Some of the freshest, tastiest doughnuts in the Colchester area at awesome prices.

Angelo's Bakery is a wonderful addition to Colchester that offers delicious and fresh pastries, cookies, doughnuts, cakes, pizzas, stuffed breads, and more. The stuffed breads and dangerously tasty treats are to die for!

"I walked in, the baker said everything was sold I found out…read moreshe saved me some sweet jelly roll Yes, the baker shop boogie" (Willie Nix) Definitely a worthwhile visit! The store is pretty large with an oversized bakery display case showing off their classic bakery goods - think gorgeous cakes, pastries, and cookies. And to make your visit even more worthwhile is a restaurant with a sweet breakfast and lunch menu. We visited yesterday and had a very nice breakfast in their large dining room. There is plenty of seating and plenty of parking too. I had a Veggie Breakfast Burrito ($10.50) with sauteed onions, peppers, spinach, grilled portobello mushrooms, American cheese, and diced tomatoes on a spinach tortilla, It was excellent and the size of that burrito made it a decent value for the price. My wife had a $7.49 Ham, Egg & Cheese breakfast sandwich with an additional $1 bagel surcharge. It was a big bagel, and as you can see from our photo, there were three big ham slices included. Very good coffees were $3.59 each. On the way out, those gorgeous pastries in the showcase whispered sweet nothings in my ear, and helpless to resist, we ordered an Apple Pocket ($2.99) and a Chocolate Croissant ($3.25). How reasonable are those prices? We also saw that Marlborough has a refrigerated case with Grab and Go meals and stuffed breads. They are open from 6AM - 6PM on weekdays and 6AM - 3PM on weekends. We are now fans.

If you have an average normal palate, you will greatly enjoy this and think it's a nice little pie with cute handmade touches and an abundance of crust ; (a plus in my book!!!) I didn't like it though...I got a gritty texture on my tongue from the crust. I associate this texture with Dunkin Donuts, as the same thing happens there. I believe this could be from using commercial lard with BHT preservative or maybe palm oil? I do know that when I bake with butter or lard from a local pig, this doesn't happen, and when I buy commercial frozen pie crust and avoid these ingredients, I don't get that texture. Either way it's a taste/texture all too common in commercial baking, and I loathe it. I also could personally do with a little less sugar in the fruit filling. Again, I feel like if you are used to most commercial sweets and that doesn't bother you, this is a a great little treat and looks like a small business, always good to support.

"You need bread, try the bakery You need lovin', look here,…read morebaby I got just what you need" (The Doors) Well, whatever your needs might be, you'll probably take care of it at Giuseppina's Italian Bakery, because they really do have it all. Their website, counters, shelves, and showcases offer you temptations everywhere you look. Want a pastry? What kind of a question is that....sure you do, so how on Earth are you going to choose between these? Cannoli, Tiramisu, 3 kinds of mousse, eclairs, frosted or plain brownies (are you bold enough to get a brownie with peanut butter buttercream frosting?), cream horns, rum rolls, an amazing peach concoction of sweet dough soaked with peach juice and rum and filled with vanilla pudding (!), Sfogliatelle, Zeppol, cream puffs, NY style cheesecake, fruit slices (peaches and strawberries with whipped cream layers and frosting), pasticiotti, cappuccino slices, Amaretto Squares, Limoncello Cake Slices and Chocolate Brownie Cake Slices. And there's more - miniature pastries, Cheese danish, apple, raspberry and blueberry turnovers, Cranberry Orange scones, blueberry scones, chive scones, and roasted red pepper scones, lemon and cherry squares. Get the picture? And I haven't mentioned their Italian cookies, 25 cake varieties, cupcakes, cake pops, pizza slices, sandwiches and stuffed breads. The truth is, this place is fantastic and is clearly in the top ten percent of Italian bakeries we've visited. We picked up an assortment of cake slices, a croissant, a scone, and a donut yesterday. They all looked amazing! We started off splitting that donut, and it was great -very light, not too sweet and just plain delicious. Shout out to the young lady who waited on us, she was pleasant and friendly, and our interaction was a far contrast to some of the less than favorable interactions reported by other Yelpers. PRO TIP 1) Don't worry about parking- they're in a shopping center with plenty of parking. 2) How good does their fig, prosciutto and Asiago cheese stuffed bread sound?
