We ordered a cake for my mother in-laws birthday, it was DELICIOUS. Vanilla cake with peaches, strawberries and vanilla custard filling. We did whipped cream frosting. After having a chance at trying the donuts earlier this year, I was excited to learn they were in Colchester and that I could make a stop before work. I held out long enough and had the perfect reason to stop today to pick up some sugary deliciousness to share and celebrate at work. Angelo's is easy to find and has ample parking (some paved areas and others stone). The building is rather unassuming and the inside is without frills - BUT who cares when the food is delicious. For $1.75 a donut as of May 2023, I consider that a pretty great steal considering a chain serves one for around the same price point. These donuts taste decadent - they are light and airy! I've only tried the vanilla frosted but can't wait to try the cinnamon sugar. Do yourself a favor and stop by! Got 2 types of stuffed bread--the spinach was very tasty. I love the way they saute it before baking into bread. Got the meatball too. I also got their marinara sauce ($4 for a very small container) and their prepared meatballs by the pound ($8 per lb). Took it all home--made a great pasta . The MARINARA was excellent. This was such a great bakery. They had such a delightful assortment of Italian pastries in Macarons and all kinds of goodies. They seem to tend toward the larger sizes in portions which Mike really appreciated. We went while we were camping in Connecticut and I read the reviews on yelp which brought us to this location. And they were spot on. We enjoyed the selection and the service. I felt safe inside with all the precautions that they took. After hearing rave reviews, we had to give it a try. Honestly, it did not live up to the hype. The donuts were pretty comparable to supermarket variety. The cinnamon roll was pretty basic not much different from Entimen's. . The cookies nothing to write home about.. traditional Italian almond cookies were very strong and didn't have that traditional chew on the edge that we really love. Angelo's is always the best for stuffed breads and Italian almond cookies. They are obviously a family run business with very respectful and friendly staff. The baked goods at Angelo's are good as it get. The one and only reason I marked them down is because they don't have number system. People stand around and look at each other when the server says "next". Whoever is the boldest is who gets served first. I have never seen a bakery without a number system. Ridiculous! read more

Our family loves the chocolate cream pie that we get for special occasions. The stuffed breads are excellent, they are are go-to when company is dropping in around lunch or for happy hour treat. The chocolate frosted donuts are very good and always fresh. The cinnamon buns are usually good although I had a stale one last time I had one. My only issue is the we love it too much. AMAZING bakery. Clean, beautiful, and reasonably priced for HUGE cupcakes. Get a peanut butter one, it's one of the best cupcakes I've ever had. The coconut macaroons are soft, yet crunchy. They sell pizza here as well and the broccoli bacon was to die for, as well as the buffalo chicken one. This is by far the best bakery I've been in a very long time. When you walk in and smell the bread it overwhelms you in a great way. There sheet pizzas are amazing and the treats omg.
