The cannoli are delicious. I'm a traditionalist, so I always choose the Sicilian, and they taste exactly like the cannoli in Palermo.

"I walked in, the baker said everything was sold I found out…read moreshe saved me some sweet jelly roll Yes, the baker shop boogie" (Willie Nix) Definitely a worthwhile visit! The store is pretty large with an oversized bakery display case showing off their classic bakery goods - think gorgeous cakes, pastries, and cookies. And to make your visit even more worthwhile is a restaurant with a sweet breakfast and lunch menu. We visited yesterday and had a very nice breakfast in their large dining room. There is plenty of seating and plenty of parking too. I had a Veggie Breakfast Burrito ($10.50) with sauteed onions, peppers, spinach, grilled portobello mushrooms, American cheese, and diced tomatoes on a spinach tortilla, It was excellent and the size of that burrito made it a decent value for the price. My wife had a $7.49 Ham, Egg & Cheese breakfast sandwich with an additional $1 bagel surcharge. It was a big bagel, and as you can see from our photo, there were three big ham slices included. Very good coffees were $3.59 each. On the way out, those gorgeous pastries in the showcase whispered sweet nothings in my ear, and helpless to resist, we ordered an Apple Pocket ($2.99) and a Chocolate Croissant ($3.25). How reasonable are those prices? We also saw that Marlborough has a refrigerated case with Grab and Go meals and stuffed breads. They are open from 6AM - 6PM on weekdays and 6AM - 3PM on weekends. We are now fans.

At the suggestion of my Yelp friend Anne C, I visited A Cupcake for Later while I was in…read moreWillimantic for the day. Appropriately, I was not buying cupcakes for contemporaneous consumption. They were indeed for . . . Later. I bought 5 different flavors to share with my family. I bought two lemon, because I definitely wanted to try the lemon. I also bought a Chocolate Peanut Butter, a Biscoff,, a Salted Caramel Butter Pecan, and a Strawberry. I tried the lemon and the Salted Caramel. The cake and icing in both were fresh, and had good flavor and texture. The flavors were accurate to description. There was a small reservoir of flavoring that extended from the bottom of the icing layer into the cake. That's always a nice touch in my book. My one note rating-wise, is that the cupcakes were not as ornate as the top tier CT cupcake places I've been to. Still tasty though. The shop was more functional than cute, but it was definitely professional and clean. Service was helpful and friendly. 4.25 Stars

I ordered cupcakes for a birthday celebration for my husband who lives in a nursing facility. I picked them up the day before and they were perfectly packaged for travel. After keeping them refrigerated as required they were fluffy and delicious. The fillings and toppings so rich and fresh! They disappeared as if by magic! I sampled the lemon cream, Boston cream and the carrot cake. But the menu is quite large and price points vary by size and "fanciness." You're sure to find something delicious for an event or just to have with a cup of tea. They make cakes as well from small size to all size wedding cakes. The service was flawless from phone order to pickup and the staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this wonderful spot for a treat for now ... or later!

Nice personal touch! I've honestly never been a fan of gluten-free food, but this place totally changed my mind. My bagel sandwich was delish!! The bagel was surprisingly soft and had a great texture, and the combo of ingredients was very tasty. I also enjoyed the bakery items I tried, but especially the earl grey macaron. The earl grey flavor was strong but not overpowering. Yumm! (Thanks, Kate!) Can't wait to come back and try something else!!

I was recently diagnosed with celiac, so when I realized everything was gluten free, I was honestly overwhelmed with excitement. I wanted to try everything. Since it was after 11, I decided on a chicken quesadilla--and wow. It was crispy, cheesy, and everything I've been missing about quesadillas. The coffee was delicious too. We split a peanut butter sandwich cookie, which was absolutely incredible. I also took a blueberry muffin to go because I knew I'd want it the next day--and I was blown away all over again when I enjoyed it with my coffee at home. This is definitely going to be a regular stop for me!

I prefer it to be made from Single Origin beans, from places like Africa that have bright flavor profiles. And I prefer a medium light roast that highlights the quality of the bean. Most places make their iced coffee from blends and medium dark or dark roast levels. Grounded Coffee Co is the rare CT coffee shop that made my iced coffee with an Ethiopian Single Origin roasted by Ilse. Ilse, a North Canaan, CT, was not on my radar. They are now. This was one of the best iced coffees I've had from a shop all year. And it matched my preferences. Grounded is small, but the shop was cute, had some inside seating, and seemed to have an outside seating area, although I did not go out back to see it. Service was friendly and helpful. Very impressed with this visit experience. Five Stars.
