It was such a refreshing change from the usual "hurry up" and "good enough" experience I often encounter when searching for something that matters deeply to me, even if it may not seem as significant to the person helping. Lori was attentive to every detail in the most efficient way. She guided me through decisions without ever being pushy, offered recommendations that were perfectly suited to my needs, and ultimately created one of the most beautiful - and most delicious - cakes I've ever had. To be honest, calling Nonni's a "bakery" really shortchanges Grandma, because it is SO much more than that. Yes, of course they sell an incredible variety of beautifully crafted cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and cannolis, but you can also buy breakfast sandwiches, pizza, stromboli, arancino, stuffed breads, grinders, chicken cutlets and more. Their store is awesome, and you'll find yourself staring at their showcases and refrigerated cases. Service is top notch, with plenty of helpful and smiling folks helping you. We picked up an eclectic group of odds and ends - croissants, donuts, danishes, and a big arancini stuffed with meat and vegetables. Their bakery is amazing -with wonderful looking breads, rolls, pastries, cupcakes, pies, Danish, cookies, donuts and specialized goodies in every shape, color, and description under the sun. Today, we picked up a gorgeous loaf of marble rye bread, six of their famous handmade donuts, and three Danish. I had a glazed donut this afternoon and it was light, sweet and pretty much fantastic.
