Had to check out Lewis Farms as I was coming across it on social Media a lot and it looked like a cute place. It's small and they sell a little bit of everything. Prepared foods to go, sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, ice cream, baked goods and refrigerated items. They have a nice patio to sit and enjoy your ice cream. The other half of the store sells toys. For $31 we loaded up on: A nice piece of pizza for $2.75. It was almost half a pound. A big 20-ounce meatball grinder for $10.99 A big Chef Salad for $12.99 Four Chocolate Chip Scones (Half Price at $5) We just split the pizza and salad for lunch, and I gotta tell you, half of that 7.6-ounce slab of pizza was plenty. It reminded me of a really good bar pizza with a thinnish but chewy crust with a blanket of sauce and cheese. Man, it was good. So was the salad, a big portion of greens, sliced cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, a hard-boiled egg, shredded carrots, sliced shallots, and a big pile of diced ham and cheese. Truth is, we each had a bowl of it with some left for dinner. The Scones were marked down and cost just 4 for $5, but they seemed fresh and soft as could be and were excellent. The next day, we split that big boy of a meatball grinder for dinner. It had plenty of sauce and we were happy to see there was a layer of mozzarella cheese on both sides of the fresh and soft Italian bread. The meatballs were made of ground beef, veal, and pork and they were quite yummy. It was a helluva sandwich. So there you have it. Our $31 order fed us multiple times with some very good comfort food at very good values. Definitely will be a repeat stop whenever we're passing through Southington. read more

Such an adorable farm stand in Southington! This was my first time actually visiting, but I've been brought their cannoli donuts before and knew they were some of the best around! It was a nice, low-key spot for my husband and I to pick out some pumpkins. We even took home a baked mac & cheese for our freezer at home that we can't wait to enjoy. Lewis Farms is a cute place to grab sweets and relax. When you enter the parking lot (in early fall), the first things you'll see are pumpkins, mums, and other plants. I ended up getting a small pumpkin and a mini pumpkin, and they were a lot cheaper than I expected. It was about $0.69 per pound for a sugar pumpkin if I'm remembering correctly. The inside of the establishment was filled with a variety of pastries, snacks, frozen prepared foods, and more. I was drawn in by the case of pastries and ended up getting a mini cinnamon roll and a Reese's cookie. The cinnamon roll was dense and not fluffy, which was disappointing. The cookie, however, was AMAZING. The peanut butter flavor really came through and I enjoyed the texture a lot. I enjoyed these sweets outside at their seating area, and the atmosphere was really nice. Maybe one day I'll come back to try their banana ice cream or apple cider donuts! read more

I went to Lewis Farms yesterday and received the most awful ice cream ever. I tried to explain to the kids working there that it was ice milk not creamy but of course they know everything. One of them said I'll do another one because maybe it froze in the line; it came out the same way ( let's just say it was more of a grayish not white). I explained again and one of them said "it's the way it is". I paid, like a fool, almost $5 for it and then threw it in their dumpster. I won't say I don't like the store because I do and they have amazing stuffed breads and other goodies but my experience yesterday will make me think twice about going again because of the rudeness of the help. As I was leaving I looked over my shoulder and I noticed them staring at me saying whatever. I'll take Dairy Queen over this any day. read more

Lewis Farms is part bakery, part gift show, part deli, part ice cream shop, and part nursery. I wandered inside looking at everything but really want a treat. We recently made a second visit, this time picking up a fresh chicken pot pie plus a container of chili from the freezer case. The pot pie, like the prior shepherds pie (see prior review) was highlighted by a beautiful crust and high-quality ingredients which were totally offset by the minimal amount of sauce.The chili proved to be blah, likely due to the minimal amounts of garlic, cayenne and cumin used in its preparation. read more

I purchased a frozen broccoli & sausage stuffed bread and served it to my family. Without getting graphic lets just say we all had stomach issues shortly after eating the bread. I carefully followed the cooking instructions so I have to assume the product was poorly prepared. I had purchased 2 breads so I promptly returned the unused bread. I was disappointed to learn I couldn't get a refund for the bread. I accepted a gift card for the purchase price but clearly I was owed a cash refund for a poor quality food item. In summary we ate an inferior food item and I experienced poor customer service. After I spend my $9 gift card I will never go back to Lewis Farms. read more

Cider donuts, pies and pastries, produce, prepared soups and sauces, jams and dressings, even a little area with harmless tchotchkes to make your home look more cluttered. They have what appears to be an incredible selection of preserves; gooseberry jam, apricot butter, Dutch apple preserves (must taste of apple pie). Prices range from $6.49 to $8.99 for the rarer specimens, admirable prices for a 16.5 ounce jar. I found the produce prices surprisingly reasonable... no worse than a regular supermarket anyway. $1.69 a pound for apples, potatoes $1.00 or less a pound... fresh corn for $0.50 an ear... darn good for a farm stand. High schoolers work the counter, the most expendable form of labor, of course. read more

I can't believe I am the first review! Their bakery items are great. Every time I pick up a tea bread to bring to work everyone raves and asks where it came from... Well it came from Lewis farms!! They taste like something grandma would make on Sunday morning.
