    Nutella & ricotta slice shot.

Thus far my experiences haven't been disappointing with Mozzicato's. The ratings seem to be bad up here, so there must be some inconsistency or just staff members that aren't as pleasant. Per my visit, the establishment had a pleasant ambiance, & felt welcoming. This time we had decided to grab another mixed cookie batch, which I unfortunately didn't photograph. The batch we went with included some rainbow cookies, black/white cookies, almond cookies, coconut macaroons, and some other options. I will say that they do have a nice selection of cookies and other pasties, which is nice! We also ended up taking one of their pies home, they had a few options available that day. We decided on their Nutella & ricotta pie, super interesting flavors together. To be honest, I was hesitant but I ended up really liking this combination, & everyone else agreed. I also felt that the crust of the pie was decent and noticed it had sugar lightly coating it. For this one, I would recommend keeping it refrigerated if not eating right away.

We always order our birthday cakes from Mozzicato. Real Whipped Cream. Fruit. Vanilla Cake. So moist and consistent. The service was accommodating and friendly. The bakery is spacious. They have a patio outside with umbrellas

During my trip to CT, my best friend, who practically lives at this bakery's doorstep, insisted I check it out. Word on the street was that mornings could get wild with lines out the door, so being the savvy adventurer, I waited until a lazy Sunday afternoon to make my move. Sure, some goodies were already snatched up, but fear not - the selection was still a treasure trove of cookies, cakes, macarons, and more! Armed with my sugary loot, I headed back to the crew for a sharing extravaganza. Verdict? They all fell head over heels for the treats! Count me in for a repeat performance the next time I'm CT-bound - this bakery has officially earned a spot on my must-visit list!

Solid bakery. Plenty of options and beautiful cakes. The quality is decent-- I don't love their cakes/ frosting but I'm a little picky so can't dock them on that one. They have gelato and espresso as well with plenty of bread/ Italian candies. Worth a stop for sure or a great option for event orders!

Went there on a Saturday afternoon with my daughter because I was craving a good cappuccino with the nice pastry next to it. I have to be honest and say that I was disappointed that I didn't receive the cappuccino in the famous mug.II will definitely try the other locations because I love the pastries that they make and I love second chances. Plainville location was very busy ,people were in and out , with a nice flow and 3 people at the counter. My daughter had the chocolate rainbow cookies (her favorite) and I tried one of the rum baba . They offer to fill it up with vanilla cream for me which I thought it was a nice touch however I ended up having it just the way it was ,with lots of syrup. (Yum)I also forgot to ask for the decaf cappuccino and ended up staying till midnight (writing reviews lol) . So if you're looking for a good strong cappuccino to go ,this may be your place .

Good donuts, needs tlc…read more I've been to this place before, and I appreciated the location despite it being an event. So being in the area, decided to come here and pick up some donuts for the ride home. We got here late in the day, and they were out of almost everything when I got there. I managed to get a churro and matcha donut. I then saw they did a Dubai chocolate strawberry cup, and had to give that a try as well ( they only do the cup on the weekends) The donuts were very fresh, light and chewy. They are high in price but much better in quality compared to other places I've tried. The Dubai strawberry cup had a kind of weak chocolate sauce over them. Not the cheapest stuff on the market, but not strong or mellow like the expensive chocolates. The strawberries were fresh, and the Dubai part needed a little salt to counteract the sweet and enhance the earthy. Inside is well decorated but dirty. All the tables were dirty, there's lots of dust and other ditritus when I was waiting for my dessert. It was end of day, so I get why they would not be fully clean. But there's some repairs that need to get done and there's cracks in the facade. Despite the lack of donuts, the quality was good and the Dubai strawberries were a nice sweet treat. This is a good place to get some interesting food items or sweet treats. Not a trek worthy spot, but good if you're around

Once it was our turn to order we were devastated to find out that they were out of the K-dog batter and could no longer make any so we decided to get extra sweets instead. Overall the deserts were absolutely delicious especially the mochi donuts I would recommend the ones that we tried but of course I'm sure the others taste delicious as well. Our least favorite was probably the crepe cake but that doesn't mean it wasn't also good me and my friend just thought the batter could use a little more flavor. My friend bought the coconut cake and when she first tried it she didn't like it all that much but she said that once she put it in the fridge the texture and flavor of the cake was much better and rated it an 8/10. Aside from the pastries I ordered a mango fruit tea with passion fruit popping boba and I was a bit underwhelmed. The flavor of the fruit tea is lacking a bit but I feel my taste buds were a bit altered after so many sweet treats. I will definitely be back again to give the boba another shot and finally get my hands on those k-dogs!

Not what was expected, but not bad…read more Missus is on a dumpling kick, so we looked for some of the best dumplings we could find locally. Found this well reviewed shop close by, so we dropped in. The inside is very sparse, lots of stuff strewn around. It was lacking a lot of polish, but it didn't seem too sketchy. We ordered from the nice lady an order of dumplings, pirogies, and a couple of bao buns. Price was good, and food took about 15 minutes to cook but we did some trekking locally to waste time, We got our food, took some pics and dug in. The pirogies were for me, and I must say that they were not pirogies. It was mashed potatoes with cheese in a dumpling wrapper. The dumpling wrappers were fresh, but the dough was not what I expected. The potato and cheese was pretty good though. Didn't use a farmers cheese but did some type of white cheese. The bao were generic. They used the same filling as the dumplings as the bao filling. It really needed a sauce inside to help differentiate it from the dumplings. We also got a black sesame bao, but the inside was very watery and not appetizing at all. So we threw that one away. The owner is a very nice lady, and she's working hard to keep her place busy. It's clear that the stresses of the day keep her strained, but she does mean well enough. For those in the area, it's not a drive to destination. It's pretty good dumplings in a run down shop with an owner fighting to stay afloat. I would recommend going here if you want to support local, and don't mind a bit of grit. The dumplings are fresh, the pirogies are interesting renditions, and they do boba tea.

This business has had a lot of publicity in the local press, so we *had* to try it, even though…read moretheir license is only beer and wine. (I'm a lush, if you've not read the rest of our writing on Yelp.) We're always looking for a new place to have a bite -- and several drinks. This place soft-opened a few weeks ago, and is now officially open. One must enter through the front door of Pol-Mart, a good delicatessen and Polish specialty store (I prefer Zieliniak, down the street, but I'll forgive the Pol-Mart people, because they're creative.) Apparently the space upstairs used to be a dusty gift shop. It's a lovely little cafe with a baby grand piano, a stage, and some ambitious lighting effects. They currently offer live entertainment on only Fridays - but have plans for more. The decor is very Old Country, but handsome and clean. The appointments (glassware, cutlery) are of high quality. We love that - we love a professional restaurant that doesn't cut corners. There's a great beer selection - not vast, but good. Wines are limited and cheap, but not very good, but a good value. I bought a glass, then a bottle, of the serviceable Riesling from Zum, in Germany. Best Buddy had his usual Bud Light. We're delighted they have domestics for him, because there are too many places in town (craft breweries, Polish restaurants) which offer only hops-heavy brews. These folks have you covered. The menu is a delight! There are two different cold-cut platters, either for one ($7-$9) or for two ($10-$12), with bread and pickles to accompany. A "French" platter contained only cheeses. It's all gotta be good because they source all the charcuterie from the deli downstairs! A modest offering of the most popular Polish foods appears on the menu (Pierogies, savory and sweet; stuffed cabbage, and the like -- and salads, by themselves or with a grilled chicken breast or a piece of salmon). We didn't try that -- we opted instead for hamburgers. The waitress, who was delightful, actually asked "why are you coming to a Polish restaurant for *hamburgers?*" I told her that our starting-out place on Broad Street in Little Poland, the Belvedere, had begun to close every Wednesday. I left the new People's Bank, and expected to go across the street to have a Scotch or three -- and then recalled that the bartender had lamented that the ownership decided to take a day off on Wednesdays. So this brought us to this little cafe. (I missed the Scotch, but it's okay). Soft music played in the background, and out the window one could view the enormous cathedral that graces the middle of Broad Street. The whole deal, three beers, a glass and a bottle of wine and two very nice burgers was only $50. It was an off-peak time, so I had to get up to summon our server twice, but she was very, very nice and very professional. She encouraged us to visit on a Friday night when they have the live music. Go here - it's a great place, trying hard, and needs to establish itself. There aren't enough places in New Britain to get a drink at lunch, and that's another (selfish) reason why we love the place.

The best thing was a long pastry stuffed with guava and cheese and topped withsugar crystals. Very tasty. The other items (tres leches cake, banana bread, brownie and pumpkin flan) were all about average. Cozy Cup is fine, but I prefer other bakeries in my general area. 3 Stars

In Italy, the word is "Nonnie" which just happens to be the name of an amazing Italian bakery we visited today. To be honest, calling Nonni's a "bakery" really shortchanges Grandma, because it is SO much more than that. Yes, of course they sell an incredible variety of beautifully crafted cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and cannolis, but you can also buy breakfast sandwiches, pizza, stromboli, arancino, stuffed breads, grinders, chicken cutlets and more. Their store is awesome, and you'll find yourself staring at their showcases and refrigerated cases. Service is top notch, with plenty of helpful and smiling folks helping you. We picked up an eclectic group of odds and ends - croissants, donuts, danishes, and a big arancini stuffed with meat and vegetables. We attacked that first as an appetizer with dinner, and it was terrific. I can't wait to sample the rest of their wares. PRO TIP Their Italian cookies look amazing, and we will definitely be back to supply our Thanksgiving dessert table with their Rainbow and Birthday Cake cookie cubes.
