Jennifer's communication was super efficient and thoughtful--she made sure to check on all the order details and even thought to ask about a card, which I had forgotten. She sent a picture ahead of time of the order and the card. Everything was packed beautifully and clearly with a lot of care. Although I didn't need a GF order this time, I was happy to see she has a big variety of GF desserts as well. I highly recommend this bakery.

He was very friendly, and told me about some of the products. The Whoopi Pies looked very tempting. I decided to go with the cookie/brownie combo. It has a proper name, but it's escaping me right now. This is a brownie on the bottom and a cookie on the top. Oh I couldn't wait to dig in! This was just under $6.00. The cookie is soft with chocolate bits, under it is more chocolate goodness with the brownie layer! Yum! I sat in my car and enjoyed each bite! With axe throwing, a retro arcade, coffee, chocolate, and this bakery. I got to explore the exposed brick and large filament lights of this specific locale, and picked up some sweets from this little shop. It's very much loud and proud in it's appearances on popular food television. Having pride in your success is a good thing, but it's very much in your face about it. It also prices accordingly, making the price of the baked goods you get at least a couple bucks extra. Thankfully, the baked goods are actually pretty good. We got a couple misfits, a couple french macarons, and one of the dessert waffles they had. The misfit muffins tasted pretty good, soft and light, not too sweet, and well balanced. The French macarons, they were not too great. the filling was sweet but lacking depth. they were pretty though. The standout was the Dessert waffle. Sweet, crispy but cakey, and plenty of chocolate and peanut butter flavor. A surprising bite, and tasty. Overall, it's a good dessert place to go to and try out. The two bakers were then featured on Food Network shows such as "Winner Cake All" and "Cupcake Wars", winning the latter. After that, they opened their first brick and mortar bakery. Most recently they competed on the Netflix show "Sugar Rush". A second location opened in Southington at the historic Factory Square complex in October 2021. Another location once existed at the Buckland Hills Mall in Manchester, but it has since closed. The locations offer cupcakes, custom cakes, cake pops, whoopie pies, cookies and muffins. I stopped at the Southington location of Hardcore Sweet for the first time this past July. Several businesses located at Factory Square were offering special menu items to celebrate Harry Potter's birthday. Factory Square is located conveniently alongside the popular Farmington Canal Trail, so I cycled there. Hardcore Sweet had several Harry Potter offerings that day, but by the time I had arrived most of them were sadly sold out. I ordered one of the few Harry Potter treats that they had left: Buckbeak's Breakfast Cupcake. It was delicious! I definitely need to come back to try more of their tasty treats on a future visit to Factory Square. I just need to get there earlier in the day when their selection is bigger.

He had a marshmallow for a head, chocolate chips for eyes, and M&M for a mouth, and half a mini-Reese's Piece for a hat. Throw that creativity on a peanut butter cookie, add a blanket of snowy white vanilla frosting and you have a delicious and quite creative work of art. We also picked up a crunchy, and chewy Ranger White Chocolate Chip Cookie made from oats, Krispies, coconut, and white chocolate chips, and a conventional chocolate chip cookie. The cookies are large enough (well over four ounces) that we found them easily splitable, and they made a sweet tooth satisfying dessert. They have a very cool product line of cookies - including a cookie-brownie love child and a slew of stuffed "cookie bombs" that pack a gooey layer of yumminess inside the cookie. They have a nice mail order business, but if you visit the store, like we did, you'll find a big selection, a super sweet staff, and plenty of parking. And the icing on the proverbial cookie is this -- they also sell a line of those super-frozen Nitrogen blasted ice creams, shakes, and sundaes. to numb your aching sweet tooths. If you have an average normal palate, you will greatly enjoy this and think it's a nice little pie with cute handmade touches and an abundance of crust ; (a plus in my book!!!) I didn't like it though...I got a gritty texture on my tongue from the crust. I associate this texture with Dunkin Donuts, as the same thing happens there. I believe this could be from using commercial lard with BHT preservative or maybe palm oil? I do know that when I bake with butter or lard from a local pig, this doesn't happen, and when I buy commercial frozen pie crust and avoid these ingredients, I don't get that texture. Either way it's a taste/texture all too common in commercial baking, and I loathe it. I also could personally do with a little less sugar in the fruit filling. Again, I feel like if you are used to most commercial sweets and that doesn't bother you, this is a a great little treat and looks like a small business, always good to support.
