So many great options right off of the rail trail!!! We had the hard serve ice cream and cookies. Everything was delicious! There are tons of options and proximity to the bike trail is perfect! We here helped quickly and there were plenty of seating options. My son got a cone, my husband got a "chimney cone" -sooo good- and I got the Twix and s'mores cookies and forgot to take a picture

Out, cruising in the hot rod, craving ice cream and being in the Southington area, there was only…read moreone choice! So here I am at Pat's looking at all the wonderful choices of ice creams, and sherbets I decided on one scoop of peaches and cream, and one scoop of lemon pie! The peaches and cream was smooth and delicious from the word go. This was a solid choice. Now this lemon pie choice was flipping amazing. There was graham crackers in with this creamy lemon ice creamy concoction. One of the best choices here at Pat's and it's new! I love coming here. Pat is such a nice guy, warm, friendly, treats everybody like he's known them for years, and his ice cream choices are spectacular This place is old school and I love sitting outside watching the traffic go by enjoying the ice cream. If you are in the area, it's just south of downtown on route 10 on the right heading towards Cheshire right after CVS. Thanks again, Pat. I hope to see you again this summer.

Wow amazing ice cream shop in Southington! My only regret is not coming here earlier. There are…read moreabout 30 flavors there at a time and let me tell you, it's hard to choose because every one that I have tried is amazing. I consider myself very lucky to live in town so I can come here often. They are open every day until 9p! Workers seem really nice and attentive. The place is also very cute, kinda like a throwback to the 90s mom and pop feel in there!

I always return to popular places that I didn't connect with in the same way super fans do…read more Sometimes, I think I got it right. And sometimes, I have to admit I got it wrong. In the case of Tulmeadow Farm and Lacroix's Homemade (I'm posting the same update for both), I have to admit that I had it somewhat wrong. Both Tulmeadow and Lacroix's made @cticecreamtour's Top 15 CT Creameries. My original reviews for both Tulmeadow and Lacroix's were both good btw. I just didn't initially connect with the flavors I tried in the way that I did with my other CT favorites. Since those initial reviews, everything I tried at each has been a banger. At Lacroix's, I've now had Banana ice cream, Peanut Butter Cup ice cream, Biscoff ice cream and a Sundae with coconut caramel ice cream and a S'mores flavor. The sundae with hot fudge, peanut butter sauce, whipped cream and maybe the best cherry I've ever had in a sundae (don't know what they did) was great, but it's harder to pick out the flavors of the ice cream with all the delicious toppings. The ice cream seemed very good though. The Peanut Butter Cup flavor was outstanding. Very rich with big gobs of cups. The banana flavor was amazingly realistic. And the Biscoff was very good too. While Lacroix's is very popular and there is always a steady flow of business, I like that I get access to the friendly owners there too. Lacroix's is 5 Stars and I'm updating my review.

This was our first time here and we told them so. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The store…read morewas easy to access and there is a large free parking lot. The patio tables are out and ready. I had the large sundae and my wife had the small waffle cone. First of all the cone and scoops were anything but small! Be advised you get a lot. My sundae was packed with 3 large scoops, strawberries, sprinkles, whipped cream and a cherry. It was amazing. The ice-cream is creamy, not whipped full of air like others. The flavors jump out and grab you. My wife's black raspberry chip was loaded with chocolate. The pistachio ice-cream was loaded with whole pistachio nuts. We traveled farther but we didn't have better.

"Well, Lordy, Lordy, Lordy, Ms. Claudy Girl, you sure look…read moregood to me" (Elvis Presley) Sweet Claude's may be one of the more difficult to find ice cream stores around, so your mindset better be "determination" focused, because I guarantee you'll be very happy with your dish or cone. You'll find them tucked away pretty much out of view inside the Artsplace building (493 W Main) within the Ball and Socket Art Complex in Cheshire. They've been cranking out homemade ice cream since 1988, and we had a stellar experience when we visited. They have plenty of ice cream flavors (including some nonfat and sugar free), plus yogurts, sorbets and ices. Some of their interesting flavors are Claude's Cupcake, Dough - Si -Dough, Salty Pretzel, Smurf, and a "Banana Corner" which is a rotating selection of banana-based ice cream. How cool! I went with a 2-flavor small dish of Salty Pretzel and Triple Chocolate. The ice cream was smooth as silk and full of flavor. Seriously, their ice cream is terrific, and at $5.35 for a big enough cup, was a very fair value. PRO TIP Because Sweet Claude's is in the Ball and Socket Art Complex there are many sections within the complex to park your car. But only park in front of Sweet Claude's if you plan on staying there for no more than a half hour. Visitors to the rest of the complex or the Farmington River Trail should leave those precious spots to the ice cream afficionados!
