    Tiny house living area
    Lovella A.

I really enjoyed our stay at Caravan Outpost! It's a cute, unique accomodation for anyone trying to get away. We originally booked an airstream but ended up getting to stay in the tiny house which actually worked better for us since our little one was with us. Despite the name, the tiny house was actually spacious and cozy! We had our own bathroom including a shower. The kitchen included a fridge, stove, sink, water boiler with complimentary coffee, tea and hot cocoa. I'd suggest bringing your own food but there are local restaurants that are walking distance. Check-in and all that is via email and text. I think the only time I saw an employee was the morning of our checkout when they were cleaning the communal bathroom. The space itself was also super quiet, it felt like we had the whole outpost to ourselves! They also have bikes, wagons and a communal outdoor area.

The vibes are just incredible here. I wish we could have stayed longer. The campers are very clean as well. Expect a camper-sized stay, not a spacious resort vibe. The bathroom is TINY, as expected for a camper. The bedroom is a very tight squeeze, as expected for a camper. But again, fantastic vibes. My only complaint is that it's extremely pricey. I'm not sure if I can make this my go-to spot. $350+/night is A LOT for a camper. If it wasn't for the price, this would be a BIG 5 star from me.

Our first visit in Ojai and booked a night here , so glad we did!! Darling relaxing outpost with couple of caravan that's clean and equipped with supplies! Even though there was no host clear communication was done via online ! Great amenities (love the free bike usage) and a nice/quite location among the town

I recently stayed at the Outpost and I couldn't be more impressed with the overall experience. From the moment we arrived, Leilani was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making it a smooth and positive stay. The landscaping throughout the site is absolutely stunning--lush greenery, well-maintained paths, and thoughtfully placed plants and flowers that create a peaceful and scenic environment. You can tell a lot of care and attention goes into maintaining the grounds, and it really adds to the overall charm of the place. The airstream was so cozy, clean, and well-equipped. We had access to clean restrooms, and hot showers. The communal areas were really nice and picnic tables, were well-kept. There were plenty of activities available, but it was also the perfect place to just unwind and enjoy. Walking distance to good food, live music and great boutique shops. We'll definitely be back! Thank you!

Stylish, clean, and peaceful - if you're looking for a place that offers all of this, this spot might be just what you need. I'd even say it's one of the coolest places to stay in Ojai. My partner and I stayed here for two nights, and I felt completely recharged. Even though the airstreams are fairly close to each other, the neighbors were respectful and quiet no disturbances at all. There are two bathrooms: one inside the camper and another outside. There's also a shared common area for guests to hang out and connect. One of the best parts? Free bikes to ride around and explore the town! If I ever visit Ojai again, I'll definitely be staying here again.

Have known about this spot for years from social media and rave reviews from friends. Everything great I heard was spot on! This is such a fun, clean, and chill place to stay while in Ojai. My partner, myself, and our pup Twinkle spent two nights here and LOVED it! The facilities are SO clean and modern, and very welcoming. Comfy chairs, hammocks, desert/ low water garden...beautiful! Incense burning in the communal area all day.... totally my vibe! At night, it was so peaceful, and the beds in the Airsteams are so comfy. Also, everything is in walking distance as this is right off the Main Street at the end of the Arcade. Leilani is such an awesome person, we felt we were very well cared for with anything we asked for. Can't say enough good things, except that we are most definitely coming back!

We recently spent two nights in Ojai at Caravan Outpost, and absolutely loved every minute. The communications coming from them was fantastic. We were texted when our trailer was ready with instructions on which trailer was ours, how to get in to the trailer and phone numbers to contact if we needed anything at all. We arrived, parked on the street, and quickly found our beautiful airstream trailer tucked in some trees with a table and two chairs with an umbrella out front. We settled in and walked the grounds. Everything was spotlessly clean, there are games, cornhole and chairs out in the middle of the common area. There are bicycles with helmets available to guests and the bathrooms and shower rooms for guests too were spotlessly clean. Mr. B used the shower rooms as our shower in the trailer was to short for him. He said they were so clean and had everything he needed. Being short, I was able to use the shower in our trailer. Now to the trailer, so fun! It was clean, everything was well taken care of. On the dining table was a retro record player with some vinyl to enjoy. The bathroom had everything we needed and the bedroom was cozy and the bed so comfortable. The air conditioner worked well and we were more than comfortable in the trailer. Leilani, the camp host isn't on site all the time, we saw her both mornings and she was so friendly as was all the staff when on site. Leilani offered recommendations of things to do and places to eat. We had a ball, and loved every minute of our resort camping experience. Parking is on the street and never had a problem getting parking. We would absolutely stay again when in the area. Located on a side street in Ojai and easy to walk into town. We walked the bike path one evening to get dinner, and walked back through town, even stopping a few doors down at a Brewery and Winery to have an after dinner drink before turning in for the night.

Horrible lighting and for sure not warm and cozy.

Even though my stay was not that great, I still gave this 4 stars because the grounds were so well maintained and the check in was easy. But here are some negatives: The lighting in our Airstream was very blue (ie daylight, 5500k) and not warm and inviting. So hanging out in the airstream at night with the lights on felt like a prison cell with the cold Florescent lighting and aluminum walls. It doesn't have the fizzy camper feeling we were hoping for. I know they are LED lights but they feel like Florescent lighting in a hospital. So we ended up turning off most of the lights in our airstream due to the harshness. Mostly because of that we will not return. Also our shower door did not close and water went everywhere in the bathroom. And we could not get our heater to turn on. Probably a user error but neither me or my wife could get it to work. Speaking of cold and sterile feeling, booking your stay there is also sterile. You never speak to anyone over the phone or in person. Everything is handled via email or text. Some people may actually like that but I prefer talking to a human and knowing a human is on staff somewhere on the grounds. It was quiet and not very many people when we stayed there in early November, but I bet it gets a bit loud in the summer time. So if you are use to a quiet hotel, this might not be the best place to stay when it's packed. Anyways, the place is well maintained and manicured but will not stay again.

Such a cute, unique little spot! Spent an impromptu weekend with 2 of my besties. Our airstream, Diego, was the perfect size for the 3 of us. The record player was such a fun detail. The grounds are well-maintained, clean and everything is meticulous. Shawn was so sweet and kind when booking and especially helpful and excited for us throughout our stay. They even handwrote a bday card for one the besties parking was easy, getting to all the best ojai spots was easy and even the brewery next door was a great easy spot to check out. Can't wait to come back for next time! Thanks for having us, Caravan Outpost!

I absolutely loved staying here with my dog! The property is so cute and there are lots of places that are walkable, including a brewery next door. Leilani was very helpful and got back to me very quickly.

Such a cute weekend getaway setup. Away from the big city and just nature and cute local shops. Lots to do and explore here. The staff is very friendly and the airstream is so clean and full of nice vibes. It's romantic and peaceful and cozy, just love it! Our only thing is that the AC can be too loud at night, it's quiet for a bit but then it booms and wakes us up a little. Anyhoo, we just turned it off eventually. It's not hot inside (at least at night) so it's ok.

Not only did Julia not give me any suggestions of where to go, she actually had a room available at a higher cost which she a) did not offer to me for the inconvenience b) did not offer it to me at a discount. Before she emailed me this should have taken care of. Julia's bad planning basically caused me to have to spend a lot more money or cancel the much anticipated wedding of a very close friend. Julia kept silent after apologizing (not profusely btw) for the "inconvenience" she caused. I should have not even heard from her until check in with a "i'm sorry but your original room is under construction so we gave you this better room" I gave the name of this hotel to 2 other people and booked so so far in advance. It is very clean and the renovations were clearly very intentional with design in mind. It is an incredibly cohesive property. The rooms themselves are comfortable and I loved that the temperature was very adjustable. The bathroom was a bit bizarre. I will never understand the appeal to the shower design. It's the kind of shower that is only separated from the rest of the bathroom by half of a glass wall. Which just means, no matter how careful you are, the entire bathroom will be soaked. In terms of property amenities, the ample free parking was a huge plus. And the complementary bikes seemed great, thought we didn't get a chance to take advantage of them. There is a nice large field in the back which would be a great place to stargaze at night. We did check out the hot tub on the last morning, and I was very disappointed that it was hardly warm. The rooms come with a unique selection of snacks for purchase, but I was shocked to see they were charging $4 for the packet of instant coffee next to the kettle. I'm glad I noticed they were charging for that, because I would've assumed it was free. No chance that's worth it. There was decent coffee available in the lobby for free. When looking at a map, it showed it was only a 10-15 minute walk into the main stretch of town, so we planned to walk daily. Unfortunately, there is just enough distance on the road between the hotel and the downtown where there is no sidewalk, to a point where we felt it would be unsafe to walk at night. So we had to drive 2 minutes down the road instead. If they were able to create a path with a street lamp or two, that would make a huge difference! The staff was incredibly nice and I was glad they were able to help out with anything we needed! I did find it a bit odd that the hotel is only staffed 8AM-10PM. The plumbing is older and can be a little finicky, and the AC/heater units are definitely on the louder, older side. That said, the overall value for the price is still great compared to other places in Ojai. The pool and spa are super nice and relaxing, and I love that they offer bikes for rent--Ojai is such a perfect place to bike around. I'd recommend it and will definitely come again.

The room was initially filled with a harsh bleach smell that made us feel sick while trying to sleep. Although staff said the bed was "new" it was stiff and uncomfortable. The rooms sit along a parking lot and bright lights shone through the plantation shutters at night. A loud refrigerator was right next to the bed, which would have kept us awake even without the light and strong chemical odor. In the middle of the night, I got up and stepped barefoot in a cold puddle. The refrigerator had leaked water onto the floor. We had to turn on the lights and mop it up with towels. Apart from offering an equally bad room the next day (after the smell had started to wane), removing the refrigerator and replacing our towels, there was essentially no effort to make this right. Staff explained door keys often fail if they're placed near a cell phone -- as though that is normal! I know things can go wrong (Murphy's law), but it's the attitude of indifference that really sets this property apart. We didn't get the restful stay we paid for and expected. Worse, this trip was for my wife's birthday. (My fault for not reading the reviews.) Nonetheless, there appeared to be little concern for our experience or even the business' poor reputation. We ended up leaving a day early -- despite the no refund policy -- just to get away. A few photos of the "clean and well-appointed room" are attached.

The entire property has a charming Spanish-style feel that makes you feel like you're on a true getaway the moment you arrive. The pool was amazing--perfectly maintained and such a peaceful spot to unwind. Everything about the inn felt thoughtfully done and welcoming. A huge thank you to Parker for his incredible customer service--he was so helpful, kind, and genuinely made our stay even better. And Jen, the manager, was absolutely amazing as well. You can tell she runs the place with care and pride, and it truly shows in the overall experience. We loved everything about our stay and would absolutely return. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Ojai!

Stay here at the risk of being defrauded! I booked with the…read morefront desk in early March for a room for one night in April. I booked a month ahead, and I want to stress that this was with the front desk, not with an outside travel agency. Confirmation of the price was sent to me via email. In April, I checked in and paid at the price they gave me and confirmed in writing. When I got home from my trip, there was an extra $50 dollars charged to my card. When I inquired as to the added charge, they simply said that I was undercharged for the room, that they had mistakenly given me the wrong price. However, I stressed that the price I paid was the price that they had agreed to. Also, they never mentioned anything about undercharging me when I paid for the room; it was only after I returned home that they took the liberty of charging me extra. This didn't matter to manager Jennifer. This is very unprofessional, and simply put, just a stupid and unethical thing to do from a business point of view. It appears that they have financial problems: the sink in my room was plugged and the mattress is old; also oddly, there is no one on the premises until 3pm and no one there in the early morning, so does that mean that they have no night clerk? They cut corners and overcharge customers that are not regulars. This is low-class, third world treatment in an upscale town. In my opinion, new management is in order if they want to stay in business. There are plenty of other hotels and B&Bs in town that don't feel free to mess with your credit card when you're not looking.
