    Tiny house living area
    Lovella A.

I really enjoyed our stay at Caravan Outpost! It's a cute, unique accomodation for anyone trying to get away. We originally booked an airstream but ended up getting to stay in the tiny house which actually worked better for us since our little one was with us. Despite the name, the tiny house was actually spacious and cozy! We had our own bathroom including a shower. The kitchen included a fridge, stove, sink, water boiler with complimentary coffee, tea and hot cocoa. I'd suggest bringing your own food but there are local restaurants that are walking distance. Check-in and all that is via email and text. I think the only time I saw an employee was the morning of our checkout when they were cleaning the communal bathroom. The space itself was also super quiet, it felt like we had the whole outpost to ourselves! They also have bikes, wagons and a communal outdoor area.

The vibes are just incredible here. I wish we could have stayed longer. The campers are very clean as well. Expect a camper-sized stay, not a spacious resort vibe. The bathroom is TINY, as expected for a camper. The bedroom is a very tight squeeze, as expected for a camper. But again, fantastic vibes. My only complaint is that it's extremely pricey. I'm not sure if I can make this my go-to spot. $350+/night is A LOT for a camper. If it wasn't for the price, this would be a BIG 5 star from me.

Our first visit in Ojai and booked a night here , so glad we did!! Darling relaxing outpost with couple of caravan that's clean and equipped with supplies! Even though there was no host clear communication was done via online ! Great amenities (love the free bike usage) and a nice/quite location among the town

I recently stayed at the Outpost and I couldn't be more impressed with the overall experience. From the moment we arrived, Leilani was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making it a smooth and positive stay. The landscaping throughout the site is absolutely stunning--lush greenery, well-maintained paths, and thoughtfully placed plants and flowers that create a peaceful and scenic environment. You can tell a lot of care and attention goes into maintaining the grounds, and it really adds to the overall charm of the place. The airstream was so cozy, clean, and well-equipped. We had access to clean restrooms, and hot showers. The communal areas were really nice and picnic tables, were well-kept. There were plenty of activities available, but it was also the perfect place to just unwind and enjoy. Walking distance to good food, live music and great boutique shops. We'll definitely be back! Thank you!

Stylish, clean, and peaceful - if you're looking for a place that offers all of this, this spot might be just what you need. I'd even say it's one of the coolest places to stay in Ojai. My partner and I stayed here for two nights, and I felt completely recharged. Even though the airstreams are fairly close to each other, the neighbors were respectful and quiet no disturbances at all. There are two bathrooms: one inside the camper and another outside. There's also a shared common area for guests to hang out and connect. One of the best parts? Free bikes to ride around and explore the town! If I ever visit Ojai again, I'll definitely be staying here again.

Have known about this spot for years from social media and rave reviews from friends. Everything great I heard was spot on! This is such a fun, clean, and chill place to stay while in Ojai. My partner, myself, and our pup Twinkle spent two nights here and LOVED it! The facilities are SO clean and modern, and very welcoming. Comfy chairs, hammocks, desert/ low water garden...beautiful! Incense burning in the communal area all day.... totally my vibe! At night, it was so peaceful, and the beds in the Airsteams are so comfy. Also, everything is in walking distance as this is right off the Main Street at the end of the Arcade. Leilani is such an awesome person, we felt we were very well cared for with anything we asked for. Can't say enough good things, except that we are most definitely coming back!

Great little clamping spot. Very peaceful. The trailers are fully stocked and come with directions all over. Super clean. Nice bathrooms as well. Check in was a breeze.

We recently spent two nights in Ojai at Caravan Outpost, and absolutely loved every minute. The communications coming from them was fantastic. We were texted when our trailer was ready with instructions on which trailer was ours, how to get in to the trailer and phone numbers to contact if we needed anything at all. We arrived, parked on the street, and quickly found our beautiful airstream trailer tucked in some trees with a table and two chairs with an umbrella out front. We settled in and walked the grounds. Everything was spotlessly clean, there are games, cornhole and chairs out in the middle of the common area. There are bicycles with helmets available to guests and the bathrooms and shower rooms for guests too were spotlessly clean. Mr. B used the shower rooms as our shower in the trailer was to short for him. He said they were so clean and had everything he needed. Being short, I was able to use the shower in our trailer. Now to the trailer, so fun! It was clean, everything was well taken care of. On the dining table was a retro record player with some vinyl to enjoy. The bathroom had everything we needed and the bedroom was cozy and the bed so comfortable. The air conditioner worked well and we were more than comfortable in the trailer. Leilani, the camp host isn't on site all the time, we saw her both mornings and she was so friendly as was all the staff when on site. Leilani offered recommendations of things to do and places to eat. We had a ball, and loved every minute of our resort camping experience. Parking is on the street and never had a problem getting parking. We would absolutely stay again when in the area. Located on a side street in Ojai and easy to walk into town. We walked the bike path one evening to get dinner, and walked back through town, even stopping a few doors down at a Brewery and Winery to have an after dinner drink before turning in for the night.

Horrible lighting and for sure not warm and cozy.

Even though my stay was not that great, I still gave this 4 stars because the grounds were so well maintained and the check in was easy. But here are some negatives: The lighting in our Airstream was very blue (ie daylight, 5500k) and not warm and inviting. So hanging out in the airstream at night with the lights on felt like a prison cell with the cold Florescent lighting and aluminum walls. It doesn't have the fizzy camper feeling we were hoping for. I know they are LED lights but they feel like Florescent lighting in a hospital. So we ended up turning off most of the lights in our airstream due to the harshness. Mostly because of that we will not return. Also our shower door did not close and water went everywhere in the bathroom. And we could not get our heater to turn on. Probably a user error but neither me or my wife could get it to work. Speaking of cold and sterile feeling, booking your stay there is also sterile. You never speak to anyone over the phone or in person. Everything is handled via email or text. Some people may actually like that but I prefer talking to a human and knowing a human is on staff somewhere on the grounds. It was quiet and not very many people when we stayed there in early November, but I bet it gets a bit loud in the summer time. So if you are use to a quiet hotel, this might not be the best place to stay when it's packed. Anyways, the place is well maintained and manicured but will not stay again.

Such a cute, unique little spot! Spent an impromptu weekend with 2 of my besties. Our airstream, Diego, was the perfect size for the 3 of us. The record player was such a fun detail. The grounds are well-maintained, clean and everything is meticulous. Shawn was so sweet and kind when booking and especially helpful and excited for us throughout our stay. They even handwrote a bday card for one the besties parking was easy, getting to all the best ojai spots was easy and even the brewery next door was a great easy spot to check out. Can't wait to come back for next time! Thanks for having us, Caravan Outpost!

I absolutely loved staying here with my dog! The property is so cute and there are lots of places that are walkable, including a brewery next door. Leilani was very helpful and got back to me very quickly.

Do an you accommodate a family of 6? 2 adults and 4 kids? Or is it only for families of 2 adults and one child?

A picture posted in 2018 shows a fire pit, yet in the Caravan Outpost website (within the "Amenities" tab) says no fire pit. Is there a fire pit?

I saw an area that was probably a communal fire pit area at one time, but is now a sitting area. Everyone has been paranoid about open fires in the Ojai area since the Thomas Fire, so I can't imagine there are any fire pits there.

Can you bring a small folding bbq to use outside your airstream?

How's the temperature inside the airstreams? Maybe it's a silly question it is there AC or heat? Are there fans? Are there windows that open?

Hi! All units are air conditioned and heated! Thank you

Is there coffee on site and/or in each air stream?

Hey! There is coffee in the office at the caravan outpost.

Is it kids and pet friendly?

    Yes!

    Do you do weddings?

Hi! Yes we do! Navigate over to our website for the ‘group inquiry’ page and you can submit details there. Please note we are completely sold out for weddings in 2018.…

Can we park next to our unit or is there another place to park?

Hi, there is plenty of street parking at the Outpost.

Do the units have tv's in them?

Hi! No, we don’t have Working televisions in our Caravans. We do have wi-fi throughout the Outpost for streaming.…

Hi! Do we need to bring our own towels if we're staying in the airsteams? Thank you!

Nope. They also provide pots, pans and eating utensils

We came on a Saturday early afternoon and started at one of their restaurants. The food was amazing, but service was definitely on the slower side. The resort is huge and has so many activities tennis, golf, bike rentals and more. After that, we headed over to the spa and spent the rest of the day relaxing by the pool. The vibe was so calm, mostly women just chatting, unwinding, and enjoying each other in this peaceful little paradise. We ordered smoothies poolside and omg...so fresh and refreshing. Service at the spa pool was great, everyone seemed to be working together seamlessly and checking in often without being overbearing. Definitely one of those spots I'd come back to anytime I need a reset from LA.

I have stayed at the resort…read moreseven or eight times and always considered it a special place to celebrate important occasions. Unfortunately, after my recent experience, I do not plan to return. For Father's Day weekend, I booked what I hoped would be a memorable getaway for my husband and me. I prepaid $5,364.45 for a two-night stay in a Deluxe King with a View Room. In addition, I made dinner reservations at the resort's fine dining restaurant, scheduled a golf outing for two because my husband loves golf, and booked a couples massage. I was genuinely looking forward to a special and relaxing weekend. On June 5, I searched for Ojai Valley Inn on Google and called the phone number that appeared online. Unbeknownst to me, I was connected to a third-party reservation company called Hotel Reservations rather than the resort directly. I received a confirmation email that included Ojai Valley Inn's name, a confirmation number, an itinerary number, and proof of payment. After driving nearly three hours from Newport Beach to the resort, I was shocked to learn that Ojai Valley Inn could not locate my reservation. I presented all of my documentation and confirmation details, yet after nearly an hour of waiting, the issue remained unresolved. I contacted Hotel Reservations while standing at the front desk, and they confirmed that a reservation existed in their system. Unfortunately, the third-party company and the hotel were unable to reconcile the discrepancy. What disappointed me most was not the reservation issue itself, but the hotel's response. The front desk associate assisting us was kind, empathetic, mentioned they will have a room available for us, and appeared genuinely committed to finding a solution. However, when the front desk manager, Morgan Giuseponi, became involved, I felt that very little effort was made to accommodate us despite our circumstances. Given our longstanding history with the resort, our prepaid reservation, and the fact that we already had dining, golf, and spa reservations on property, I expected some attempt to help us remain at the resort. Instead, we were informed that the hotel was fully booked and were advised to seek accommodations elsewhere. Whether the issue originated with the third-party booking company or elsewhere, I had hoped Ojai Valley Inn would demonstrate the level of hospitality and problem-solving that luxury resorts are known for. Rather than allowing the situation to ruin Father's Day weekend, we chose to stay at Rosewood Miramar Beach instead. Fortunately, the experience there was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and proactive. The contrast in customer care was impossible to ignore. Luxury hospitality is not measured by how a property performs when everything goes according to plan. It is measured by how it responds when something goes wrong. In this case, I left feeling that Ojai Valley Inn was unwilling to help a loyal, repeat guest during a difficult situation. This experience was deeply disappointing and has permanently changed my perception of a resort I once loved. While the reservation issue may not have been entirely the hotel's fault, the lack of effort to find a solution certainly was. For that reason, I will not be returning.

It wasn't loud construction, but we could hear footsteps, ladders, and people working overhead. We had booked a weekend stay because the listing indicated there would be no weekend construction. When we mentioned it to the front desk, we were told the workers were on the roof of the neighboring building and that they had hoped guests would already be awake by then. It is very clean and the renovations were clearly very intentional with design in mind. It is an incredibly cohesive property. The rooms themselves are comfortable and I loved that the temperature was very adjustable. The bathroom was a bit bizarre. I will never understand the appeal to the shower design. It's the kind of shower that is only separated from the rest of the bathroom by half of a glass wall. Which just means, no matter how careful you are, the entire bathroom will be soaked. In terms of property amenities, the ample free parking was a huge plus. And the complementary bikes seemed great, thought we didn't get a chance to take advantage of them. There is a nice large field in the back which would be a great place to stargaze at night. We did check out the hot tub on the last morning, and I was very disappointed that it was hardly warm. The rooms come with a unique selection of snacks for purchase, but I was shocked to see they were charging $4 for the packet of instant coffee next to the kettle. I'm glad I noticed they were charging for that, because I would've assumed it was free. No chance that's worth it. There was decent coffee available in the lobby for free. When looking at a map, it showed it was only a 10-15 minute walk into the main stretch of town, so we planned to walk daily. Unfortunately, there is just enough distance on the road between the hotel and the downtown where there is no sidewalk, to a point where we felt it would be unsafe to walk at night. So we had to drive 2 minutes down the road instead. If they were able to create a path with a street lamp or two, that would make a huge difference! The staff was incredibly nice and I was glad they were able to help out with anything we needed! I did find it a bit odd that the hotel is only staffed 8AM-10PM.
