Stayed at Capri hotel for 1 night and initially was attracted by the aesthetic and good reviews. You can tell that it was an old motel style place that got renovated to be more hip and have a desert, hipster, natural vibe. Check-in was pretty smooth and the lobby is cute and smells like sage. Went to the room and it was really clean and there was a nice variety of snacks (with a fee menu). Initially everything was fine except that in Ojai that night it was pretty cold so they have a heater/AC installed in every room. They also has it felt like down comforters. The way the AC was placed was near the head of the beds so I could feel the air blowing. It was very cold initially so we turned on the heater then overnight it got soooo hot and the hot air was in my face. Then we turned the heater off and still the comforter was so hot. I slept with half my body outside of the comforter. Long story short, my night was not the relaxing night I thought for my day away to recharge. Otherwise the bed was fine. I didn't mind but also the hygiene products that are provided in the hotel room all smell are herb forward. You check-out by returning the key to the front desk but we checked out so early the lobby wasn't open (they open 8 am -10 pm) and we left it in the room. Not sure what else this says either but we called the "after hours line" once and no one picked up.

Can't wait to come back!!! We took a quick girl's trip to Ojai and stayed at the Capri Hotel. Super cute and thoughtfully decorated. The front desk staff and lobby are warm and inviting. The front desk clerk was happy to provide wonderful recommendations for places to eat. We had a room with a patio and it was cool it opened to a large shared grass area. The room was cute and clean, the beds were comfy. We enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the morning before we headed out

I loved their motif lounge and thoughtful decor. There was ceramic handmade lamps in our room. I love that they had a big soaking tub in the room. We had fun writing the complementary bikes around town finding some really cool spots to get a salad and juice. The only thing I would've liked is if they were more flexible on checkout time. The next time we'll have to go and check out some hikes.

The Capri Hotel had its pros and cons. This hotel is expensive and i wouldn't call it "affordable" for the average person, especially for what you get. We stayed in a room with two queen beds with a balcony on the second floor. The balcony had patio furniture (two chairs and a table). If we wanted to be on the first floor, it was about $100 difference (per night). At the time of booking, it was a minimum of a two night stay. The first floor rooms have spacious patios. The beds were comfortable. The TV had a firestick with Prime and Netlfix ready to watch. The room does have a mini fridge. The rooms were lovely, but the hotel does feel old or vintage. The wiring in the building must be old because our lights were flickering a few times. The lobby and outdoor areas were pretty. There's a seating area with fire pits, perfect for late night chatting. There's a large lawn area, perfect for a wedding. However, you should note that if you're staying in a room with a patio and balcony at the time an event is happening, you'll probably be able to hear everything. The patios and balconies are directly next to the lawn area and pool. The second floor is not handicap friendly as there are no elevators. If you have small children and a lot of luggage with you, you may have to take two trips from the car. Ojai overall seems like it's a safe city, so I wouldn't say that safety is a big concern here. However, if safety is a big concern for you, be aware that there isn't a gate or barrier between your room and the street or parking lot. The hotel rooms are accessible to just anyone on the street. So anyone walking by can just knock on your door or window. The room is lacking a luggage rack, so we had to put all of our luggage on the floor. The shower situation is interesting. The bathroom has a stand up shower with just a glass as the barrier. The glass wall isn't very large because the bathroom isn't large. When you shower, expect water to get all over the floor outside of the actual shower. Don't forget to place a towel on the floor to use as a floor mat so you don't slip on the wet floor. The water pressure isn't the best. The bathroom does have a small window, but be careful when you leave the small window open because the other side of the window is a walkway. The lobby is beautiful! The staff are all so friendly.

This is a cutesie renovated motel with thoughtful design choices and lots of space. The amenities are VERY minimal, so think of this place as a nice place to rest your head after a day of hiking and exploring the darling downtown. The staff is very nice. The motel does have a cute retail area with some t-shirts, skin care products, books and little effects. They do have a pool and an open space in the back for the guests to enjoy. In terms of high levels of service, there just isn't any here. This is a very bare bones hospitality experience, so if you're looking to be pampered, I'd head over to the Ojai Valley Inn who is among the very best in class in offering that type of experience which you will pay$$ for. Things to know: While this place is kid friendly, they do NOT have cribs or pack n plays which means you'll have to bring your own. Parking is limited but they do not require parking passes, so curious how this plays out during high season. Coffee and tea are located in the lobby. Everything offered in the room is a charge. There is no food establishment attached to the property so you'll have to venture off property to get a meal. But they do have snacks in the room you can pay for.

We absolutely love the Capri Hotel! It was our first visit to Ojai & we can't wait to go back to stay here again. I took my two young daughters and the hotel were very accommodating. Everything was so beautiful, the beds and rooms were comfy, the snacks in the room were clean and healthy versions of regular junk which I really appreciated! The lobby room had great brands to shop, & the pool and jacuzzi were heated perfectly. Will be back again!

Excellent service and the vibes were vibing! So much thought and intention was put into the design of this hotel that you truly feel like you're away on vacation. Loved my stay here and would 100% come back the next time I go to Ojai. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay here! The modern boho vibes fit into the Ojai spirit. The lobby is large and inviting with a big fireplace and curated goods for sale. The staff were warm and inviting. The room was cutely furnished and had everything we need for a girls vacation. We swam in the pool, which was warm and felt like an oasis. They did a great job converting this motel, and we can't wait to come back!

Such a cute hotel!! The pool area is what sold us when we were looking for a quick mid week getaway. Very clean and nice ambiance. Will definitely come back here!

We came on a Saturday early afternoon and started at one of their restaurants. The food was amazing, but service was definitely on the slower side. The resort is huge and has so many activities tennis, golf, bike rentals and more. After that, we headed over to the spa and spent the rest of the day relaxing by the pool. The vibe was so calm, mostly women just chatting, unwinding, and enjoying each other in this peaceful little paradise. We ordered smoothies poolside and omg...so fresh and refreshing. Service at the spa pool was great, everyone seemed to be working together seamlessly and checking in often without being overbearing. Definitely one of those spots I'd come back to anytime I need a reset from LA.

For many years, Ojai Valley Inn was one of my favorite destinations. I have stayed at the resort…read moreseven or eight times and always considered it a special place to celebrate important occasions. Unfortunately, after my recent experience, I do not plan to return. For Father's Day weekend, I booked what I hoped would be a memorable getaway for my husband and me. I prepaid $5,364.45 for a two-night stay in a Deluxe King with a View Room. In addition, I made dinner reservations at the resort's fine dining restaurant, scheduled a golf outing for two because my husband loves golf, and booked a couples massage. I was genuinely looking forward to a special and relaxing weekend. On June 5, I searched for Ojai Valley Inn on Google and called the phone number that appeared online. Unbeknownst to me, I was connected to a third-party reservation company called Hotel Reservations rather than the resort directly. I received a confirmation email that included Ojai Valley Inn's name, a confirmation number, an itinerary number, and proof of payment. After driving nearly three hours from Newport Beach to the resort, I was shocked to learn that Ojai Valley Inn could not locate my reservation. I presented all of my documentation and confirmation details, yet after nearly an hour of waiting, the issue remained unresolved. I contacted Hotel Reservations while standing at the front desk, and they confirmed that a reservation existed in their system. Unfortunately, the third-party company and the hotel were unable to reconcile the discrepancy. What disappointed me most was not the reservation issue itself, but the hotel's response. The front desk associate assisting us was kind, empathetic, mentioned they will have a room available for us, and appeared genuinely committed to finding a solution. However, when the front desk manager, Morgan Giuseponi, became involved, I felt that very little effort was made to accommodate us despite our circumstances. Given our longstanding history with the resort, our prepaid reservation, and the fact that we already had dining, golf, and spa reservations on property, I expected some attempt to help us remain at the resort. Instead, we were informed that the hotel was fully booked and were advised to seek accommodations elsewhere. Whether the issue originated with the third-party booking company or elsewhere, I had hoped Ojai Valley Inn would demonstrate the level of hospitality and problem-solving that luxury resorts are known for. Rather than allowing the situation to ruin Father's Day weekend, we chose to stay at Rosewood Miramar Beach instead. Fortunately, the experience there was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and proactive. The contrast in customer care was impossible to ignore. Luxury hospitality is not measured by how a property performs when everything goes according to plan. It is measured by how it responds when something goes wrong. In this case, I left feeling that Ojai Valley Inn was unwilling to help a loyal, repeat guest during a difficult situation. This experience was deeply disappointing and has permanently changed my perception of a resort I once loved. While the reservation issue may not have been entirely the hotel's fault, the lack of effort to find a solution certainly was. For that reason, I will not be returning.

Their "European" breakfast seemed no better than a Holiday Inn Express. A lot of it is prepackaged stuff. The "assorted cheeses" are identical to the pre-sliced packaged stuff from Vons as is the bread and bagels. The only effort put into appears to be the hard-boiled eggs (unpeeled, of course). They could easily step it up several notches by sourcing pastries from locals, making oatmeal to serve, and getting a decent cheese and meat selection, but after the second disappointing day of the exact same thing we headed to town for breakfast. For us, the most off-putting thing was all the ridiculous signs everywhere! We counted 22 separate signs from driving in the entrance to opening the door to our room - four or five were helpful. And then there's all the signage IN your room (did you really need to label the ice bucket as "Ice Bucket"???). It seems like someone just went to town with a label maker and laminator. Maybe just us, but we felt it was tacky, unnecessary and detracting.
