Can't wait to come back!!! We took a quick girl's trip to Ojai and stayed at the Capri Hotel. Super cute and thoughtfully decorated. The front desk staff and lobby are warm and inviting. The front desk clerk was happy to provide wonderful recommendations for places to eat. We had a room with a patio and it was cool it opened to a large shared grass area. The room was cute and clean, the beds were comfy. We enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the morning before we headed out

I loved their motif lounge and thoughtful decor. There was ceramic handmade lamps in our room. I love that they had a big soaking tub in the room. We had fun writing the complementary bikes around town finding some really cool spots to get a salad and juice. The only thing I would've liked is if they were more flexible on checkout time. The next time we'll have to go and check out some hikes.

The Capri Hotel had its pros and cons. This hotel is expensive and i wouldn't call it "affordable" for the average person, especially for what you get. We stayed in a room with two queen beds with a balcony on the second floor. The balcony had patio furniture (two chairs and a table). If we wanted to be on the first floor, it was about $100 difference (per night). At the time of booking, it was a minimum of a two night stay. The first floor rooms have spacious patios. The beds were comfortable. The TV had a firestick with Prime and Netlfix ready to watch. The room does have a mini fridge. The rooms were lovely, but the hotel does feel old or vintage. The wiring in the building must be old because our lights were flickering a few times. The lobby and outdoor areas were pretty. There's a seating area with fire pits, perfect for late night chatting. There's a large lawn area, perfect for a wedding. However, you should note that if you're staying in a room with a patio and balcony at the time an event is happening, you'll probably be able to hear everything. The patios and balconies are directly next to the lawn area and pool. The second floor is not handicap friendly as there are no elevators. If you have small children and a lot of luggage with you, you may have to take two trips from the car. Ojai overall seems like it's a safe city, so I wouldn't say that safety is a big concern here. However, if safety is a big concern for you, be aware that there isn't a gate or barrier between your room and the street or parking lot. The hotel rooms are accessible to just anyone on the street. So anyone walking by can just knock on your door or window. The room is lacking a luggage rack, so we had to put all of our luggage on the floor. The shower situation is interesting. The bathroom has a stand up shower with just a glass as the barrier. The glass wall isn't very large because the bathroom isn't large. When you shower, expect water to get all over the floor outside of the actual shower. Don't forget to place a towel on the floor to use as a floor mat so you don't slip on the wet floor. The water pressure isn't the best. The bathroom does have a small window, but be careful when you leave the small window open because the other side of the window is a walkway. The lobby is beautiful! The staff are all so friendly.

We absolutely love the Capri Hotel! It was our first visit to Ojai & we can't wait to go back to stay here again. I took my two young daughters and the hotel were very accommodating. Everything was so beautiful, the beds and rooms were comfy, the snacks in the room were clean and healthy versions of regular junk which I really appreciated! The lobby room had great brands to shop, & the pool and jacuzzi were heated perfectly. Will be back again!

This is a cutesie renovated motel with thoughtful design choices and lots of space. The amenities are VERY minimal, so think of this place as a nice place to rest your head after a day of hiking and exploring the darling downtown. The staff is very nice. The motel does have a cute retail area with some t-shirts, skin care products, books and little effects. They do have a pool and an open space in the back for the guests to enjoy. In terms of high levels of service, there just isn't any here. This is a very bare bones hospitality experience, so if you're looking to be pampered, I'd head over to the Ojai Valley Inn who is among the very best in class in offering that type of experience which you will pay$$ for. Things to know: While this place is kid friendly, they do NOT have cribs or pack n plays which means you'll have to bring your own. Parking is limited but they do not require parking passes, so curious how this plays out during high season. Coffee and tea are located in the lobby. Everything offered in the room is a charge. There is no food establishment attached to the property so you'll have to venture off property to get a meal. But they do have snacks in the room you can pay for.

Excellent service and the vibes were vibing! So much thought and intention was put into the design of this hotel that you truly feel like you're away on vacation. Loved my stay here and would 100% come back the next time I go to Ojai. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay here! The modern boho vibes fit into the Ojai spirit. The lobby is large and inviting with a big fireplace and curated goods for sale. The staff were warm and inviting. The room was cutely furnished and had everything we need for a girls vacation. We swam in the pool, which was warm and felt like an oasis. They did a great job converting this motel, and we can't wait to come back!

Such a cute hotel!! The pool area is what sold us when we were looking for a quick mid week getaway. Very clean and nice ambiance. Will definitely come back here!

It's about a mile away from the "stuff" in town, which is totally walkable. We did find it to be a bit of a drag walking back to the hotel at the end of the day. I booked a room in October of 2025 for a wedding in May 2026 (May 21-May 23). I just received an email this morning letting me know I did not have a room due to construction going on in my particular room which began in January and will not be complete by the time I check in. Not only did Julia not give me any suggestions of where to go, she actually had a room available at a higher cost which she a) did not offer to me for the inconvenience b) did not offer it to me at a discount. Before she emailed me this should have taken care of. Julia's bad planning basically caused me to have to spend a lot more money or cancel the much anticipated wedding of a very close friend. Julia kept silent after apologizing (not profusely btw) for the "inconvenience" she caused. I should have not even heard from her until check in with a "i'm sorry but your original room is under construction so we gave you this better room" I gave the name of this hotel to 2 other people and booked so so far in advance. She did refund my money but it is Memorial day weekend and prices have skyrocketed and nothing is available. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be treated fairly. She had the nerve to tell me the room that was available was a lot more money with no discount nothing. This woman has ZERO business acumen and I can not say enough bad things about her in this one post. It was such an "Oh Well" attitude ...She had so many options to give a) offer me the room b) offer me the room at a discounted rate c) find me a room during the most crowded weekend and offer to pay the difference d) offer me a coupon to come back with a free night ........awful awful awful .....I hope the other people in the party cancel and find something else but they are probably stuck here because nothing is available.

The final day I woke up to being bit by a bed bug I jumped out of bed and noticed I had one crawling on my night gown and panicked I went thru all of our luggage and woke him up to get up and on the bed we seen another 2 crawling on the bed. I was dumbfounded trying to figure out what it was since the office doesn't open until I don't know because I had to leave for work at 7am and Noone was there so I let my husband take care of the situation. I booked a month ahead, and I want to stress that this was with the front desk, not with an outside travel agency. Confirmation of the price was sent to me via email. In April, I checked in and paid at the price they gave me and confirmed in writing. When I got home from my trip, there was an extra $50 dollars charged to my card. When I inquired as to the added charge, they simply said that I was undercharged for the room, that they had mistakenly given me the wrong price. However, I stressed that the price I paid was the price that they had agreed to. Also, they never mentioned anything about undercharging me when I paid for the room; it was only after I returned home that they took the liberty of charging me extra. This didn't matter to manager Jennifer. This is very unprofessional, and simply put, just a stupid and unethical thing to do from a business point of view. It appears that they have financial problems: the sink in my room was plugged and the mattress is old; also oddly, there is no one on the premises until 3pm and no one there in the early morning, so does that mean that they have no night clerk? They cut corners and overcharge customers that are not regulars. This is low-class, third world treatment in an upscale town. In my opinion, new management is in order if they want to stay in business. There are plenty of other hotels and B&Bs in town that don't feel free to mess with your credit card when you're not looking.
