I had a wonderful experience here. The lady at the desk was very nice and our room was very clean. We stayed in room 202, which was upstairs. There was plenty of parking and we found a spot very close to where our room was. The bathroom was spacious and we even had a love seat, coffee table, a microwave and a fridge! Very cool! The bed was comfy and we slept just fine except it was a little noisy in the morning the Sunday we were there because some big rigs and motorcycles drove by. Also, the room was stocked with everything we needed, except for some reason there was no hair conditioner. There's a tiny market across the street though, so I was able to get some easily. While there, I stocked up on water since we realized we had a fridge. There is a really cute heated jacuzzi with jets on the side of the property and a nicely decorated outdoor lounge area. It was cold out the night we checked it out so we did not get it, but it was nice to hang out by the jacuzzi for a little while. I would definitely stay here again. It's in between Ventura and Ojai, but cheaper to stay and I was quite pleased with how clean it was. Thank you, Oakridge Inn, and to the nice lady who made sure we got a nice room. Beds are OLD, they do NOT have a pool, it is a puddle at best; when I asked if we could wait by the pool since we were a little early, they said "weLLLLL, we have a "hottub," but I wanted a refreshing pool so THAT SUCKED! As soon as I checked into room I discovered toilet flush handle did not work. I informed front desk of issue and they said management would get back to me asap. When they didn't and i followed up I was told there was no room to move into and I would need to flush manually by sticking my hand into the water tank. Needless to say this is completely unacceptable. I had to do this several times because management did not get back to me and now 5 days after checking out and after multiple inquiries I still have not received a response. read more

Horrible stay! Should have listened to the other reviews. The roomed smelled absolutely horrific, and we didn't check in until 9pm so there was no way they had just cleaned it. They had dryer sheets stuffed into the AC unit to try to mask the smell which didn't work. I ended up with a horrible head ache from the smell and got no sleep. They sheets were so thin some of the blankets had holes in it and they were rough and scratchy. The pool furniture looked cleaner to sleep on than the room. I used my credit card points to pay for the room for 1 night. Upon check in they asked for a credit card for incidentals which was no big deal but they charged that card for over $400! Which doesn't even add up to one night if they were to have made that mistake. I called them they said sorry we have no record of that charge dispute it with your credit card. It's not a pending charge it cleared my bank. I would stay away from this place. read more

*** Buyer beware!!! *** Privately owned Stayed one night (9/4/2025) with family. One room booked with airline credits. Two rooms booked with my credit card. They tried to charge us for airline mile's room. They refunded us and we received refund 9 days after stay. ***SEVEN MONTHS LATER**** 3/10/2026 We were recharged for the room. According to manager, the owner texted him that he was reviewing the year's prior transactions and "corrected" what he thought were errors. (So apparently others have charges also.) No call to customers, just charged their card. Manager states employees have no access to card numbers, but apparently the owner still has customers card numbers and able to randomly charge if HE feels there is an "error" at any time. There was no error. Manager stated that owner decided to refund me (again) due to the time frame involved. Oh! Thank you for giving me MY money back!! Situation not over. read more

Our room wasn't fully cleaned. There was hair on the bed, poop streaks in the toilet, some type of dirty grime on the toilet seat. My wife didn't sleep well as a result, and we both didn't shower because of the dirtiness of the room. My wife also woke up with bumps on her face, and I looked online for an explanation and it could be bed bugs or chemicals in the sheets. It might be a coincidence, too. We talked to the front desk about a possible discount because this place charges the same price as nicer places we stayed in the area, and we didn't feel like $211.68 was fair for what we got. The front desk person said she would call her manager and get back to us. No call. That all deserves a poor rating. read more

This is a perfect value option for staying close to Ojai, and for families. Room was very clean, staff was friendly, and there are little touches that let you know the inn is well run. The "pool" is a large hot tub. Fun for the kiddos, relaxing for grownups, but you won't be doing laps. Close to McDonald's and Starbucks if you need it. 10 minute drive to downtown Ojai - Libbey Park. I would stay here again. read more

I have stayed here many times. The last time was in 9/6 thru 9/8 2024 for my 50th Nordhoff class reunion. Hotels in Ojai are expensive and this the least expensive option I have found unless you want to stay in Santa Paula or Ventura. My local friends always invite me to stay with them but I don't like to impose. Each time I've stayed here it has been a pleasant experience. The staff have always professional, friendly and helpful. The rooms have always been clean. I've never seen any bugs - including bed bugs and I do look when I stay in hotels. This isn't a 5 star hotel but it isn't bad either. I'm planning on staying here again on my next trip to Ojai. read more

Great option if you want to come to Ojai but don't want to pay the high prices to stay in town or can't find any vacancies. This motel is about 10 minutes from downtown Ojai (by car). FYI: I checked to see if Uber was an option (motel to Ojai) and it couldn't find a ride. However, driving is fairly simple in Ojai as there is ample free street parking. ROOM: Typical motel accommodations. Nothing fancy although the room was clean and comfortable, which is all that matters. Large bathroom. Microwave and mini-fridge. Coffeemaker. Functional WiFi. Everything was working as intended. We had a pleasant one-night stay here. PRICE: It ended up being about $150/night (a Saturday night, specifically). Not exactly cheap but cheaper than staying in the heart of Ojai. We booked via [hotels dot com] so I'm not sure if there's a better deal by booking directly. CHECK-IN: Straightforward. I called in advance to see if they could offer early check-in and they were able to help me out. PARKING: Private lot. No issues finding a spot. read more

This place is awful. Dirty carpets from 1980 in the shabby yellow stained walls of the motel rooms. There is mildew along the edges of the grout along the bath tub and in between shower tiles. If you are looking for an inexpensive place don't stay here! You get all the trashy amenities for the low price of $300 per night. Hopefully we won't bring bed bugs back home with us. read more

On our way back to Orange County from a trip to Solvang we stopped over to visit Ojai and spent a Saturday night here. We were able to check in early, which was nice, and were given a room in the back, also nice, since the property sits on the main drag leading into Ojai in a town about 5 miles west. The clerk was not particularly friendly but efficient. The property itself looks all right on the outside, decently landscaped, with views of the mountains surrounding. Our room was clean, with a large bathroom. The beds were not particularly comfortable for me, and I was awakened in the middle of the night with back and hip pain. My wife did not find them comfortable but has less issues than me. The drapes were from another era and some of the furniture was old and chipped. The shower had nice hot water with a good flow. The toilet worked well. They provide a very basic continental breakfast, coffee and bagels, which we did not partake of. I really felt that the room was overpriced, even for a Saturday night. I don't think we would stay here again. read more

What's good: -Convenient location on Hwy 33 (Ventura Ave), 15 mins (8 miles)to Ojai. Across street is a 24/7 USA gasoline station. Kind bright and safe location. -Super fast Free Wifi. -Friendly staff, does not require showing ID, CC or fill out address, phone #, plate # if you book through Expedia. What I dislike: -Water pressure in the bathroom is not that great. -Bathroom floor is seriously slippery I wonder if someone waxed the floor. -Bed is too soft while pillows are too hard. However, I did not wake up with back pain:P -No desk/chair, despite fast wifi, it's difficult to sit on the couch and work on the coffee table. -It faces major hwy/street if you are very sensitive to noise. Perhaps the noise from the heater covered it up:xD Conclusion: Probably the most affordable lodging in the area with what exactly you would expect from the typical motel. It rated 3.7 on Expedia but I would say it's more just like 3.0. Recommend to road warrior but not good for romantic gateway. read more

And thank you for having such a comfy bed. Normally I'm used to sleeping on hard beds when I stay in hotels, but not here, all in all I loved my stay and absolutely recommend people come here. This was the cheapest option for a mid-august weekend stay in any coastal city between Ventura and San Luis Obispo. The room was decent but extremely hot and stuffy when we got there. We turned on the AC and it took maybe about 30 min to get the small room to a comfortable temperature. The bed and pillows were not uncomfortable but they were not comfortable either. The bathroom had an extremely long and spacious counter. The pool is very small and there was one other couple in it when we walked over and we ended up turning around and going back to our room because it felt like we would be too close for comfort lol. There's a gas station and convenience store across the street but it closes early. I'm not sure what time it closes but I walked over around 8 or 9pm and it was closed. There's another gas station with a convenience store a block away and also a liquor store across from it. BTW, Ojai pizza company is literally steps away from the Inn (we almost ordered delivery because we didn't realize it lol). read more

After pricing local hotels in and around Ventura for a local charity bike ride we booked to ride in August, I booked Oakridge Inn for their lower cost. With my AAA membership, price went down $10 additional bucks a day. This motel was 8 miles from our ride start and suited our needs perfectly. We arrived 4pm and Scott the manager had my receipt ready, as I pre-paid to hold the room. He is a man of few words...and gave us double queen beds on the 2nd floor, after I asked for a 'quiet room' (not facing the street). Oh, and FREE wifi but I didn't think we'd need it (we did and we got the password). Our room was dated (older style carpet, coverlet), but exceptionally clean and well stocked. Pillows and mattress were comfy. Working AC that was very chilly! Thick towels with soaps, shower caps and body wash...things I didn't expect at a 'budget' property! There wasn't anything amiss and I was pleasantly surprised at my 'score' of a quiet older property that was well taken care of. We also had a microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge on the larger side. WOW... Our bathroom was HUGE...literally about 20x12 feet! And the shower came with body wash/shampoo...SURPRISE! It felt like a Hilton with all the ammentities. House keeping did a superb job with room upkeep and I gladly tipped for the hard-work that I noticed. Wanted to shout out to the housekeeping staff: your HARD WORK was noticed and much appreciated! My husband turned on the flat screen TV to find loads of cable TV stations and plenty to watch. Ice machine was located by the pool, and there were plenty of parking spaces. The pool is actually a 'jacuzzi' that has tepid water. Not very hot, but we took a dip without the jets on...since it was very muggy when we arrived. The pool area had cool 'tiki' art with one umbrella and a few chairs/lounges. Our room had additional towels for pool-side, but I had brought a beach towel. There appeared to be 'regulars' who lived at this motel; some residents possibly burnt-out from the recent fires in the area. As well as workers with large pick-up trucks re-building in these areas. Also, due to lack of rainfall, we read in the local paper that this entire area was in a STAGE 3 DROUGHT...but it was never brought up by management to conserve water. The building had about 20 rooms (or more) and was VERY quiet the two days we stayed; with the exception of a few rude guests yelling out to friends in the parking lot at 7:30am. Gosh, people don't get that just because THEY are up, doesn't mean other guests are up at that hour as well. I went outside to 'shush' them and they meekly apologized. The tiny office has a decent 'breakfast' we had on our last day. REAL 100% orange juice, hot coffee (packaged creamer my husband turned his nose up at). Mini bagels with REAL cream cheese, packaged pastry, yogurts, instant oatmeal/hot water for tea, etc. A pretty decent spread with choices if you are too lazy to find something to nibble on before you check out. I liked the lobby had some local newspapers (free), and local legit massage brochures after our 100K bike ride so I didn't have to use bandwidth to find them myself. There is also a delicious Thai restaurant literally across the street where we ate dinner that I highly recommend. And a very tiny Goodwill store across the street where I scored a few items. Our ONLY issue were guests smoking in various places on the property (pool, balcony, sitting on the stairs next to their ground floor room). Its CA law that smokers stay 25+ feet AWAY from occupied buildings. And they threw butts in the pool area, which looked trashy. The manager should address/remind his smoking guests that butts need to be disposed of in proper areas (and not thrown in the trash) and to smoke by the parked cars (not near the rooms). In all fairness, I did NOT bring this to management attention. Should we come back to Ventura for this yearly bike-ride, I will book again. read more

Best spot in all of oak view, home away from home!!! I wouldn't stay anywhere else! Clean comfy quiet and inexpensive!

This a good place to stay if you need a clean, decent room. It does have a fridge, tv, hair dryer. Plenty of lights as well. I requested a room with one queen bed on the bottom floor but they were all taken so I got a room on the bottom floor with two queen beds for 10$ more. 109$ is the discounted rate with AAA so we paid 119, 130 with taxes. We couldn't get our key til after 5 as Doug (part owner) had an appointment the day (Tuesday) we checked in. We stayed one night. No noise issues and the beds are comfortable. The AC/heater is the usual under-the-window mount with controls on the unit. It was quiet and efficient. The door has a door knob with a bolt. The key is a standard regular key attached to a plastic oval; the door is very solid. The area was clean. The ice machine is in the back by the jacuzzi for which you need your room key. Doug says he doesn't heat the jacuzzi when it's hot as he says the people don't want a hot Jacuzzi when it's hot. Makes sense. If you want it hot he says to tell him and he'll turn it up. He said kids were coming when we checked out so he added water to cool it off for them. He says many locals stay there who need temporary housing and they give them a better rate. He says he has a weekly rate for them. read more

I grew up in Ojai and occasionally come to town to visit friends and play music. I've driven by this hotel probably a few hundred times but have usually stayed at other hotels in Ojai or with friends. I found all the hotels in town are all over $200 per night so I looked at the Oakridge Inn in late October 2023. I spent two nights. I was pleasantly surprised. My room was clean and their WiFi was excellent. Everything in the room worked as expected. The staff that I dealt with were all very nice, professional and accommodating. It isn't a 5-star hotel but is a good value for the area. I going back on 12/29/23 for another visit. If my experience is better or worse I'll try and update this review. read more

Clean, Comfortable Beds, Spacious Room My husband and I were doing a weekend away in Ojai, but wanted someplace to stay that wasn't going to be as expensive per night. We found the Oakridge Inn and though the rooms were dated, so I would say that was the biggest downfall. It was no frills, but all you could really ask for for a quick night stay. The place was really clean, bed was really comfortable, there was a mini-fridge, free wifi and SPACIOUS bathrooms...like huge. Also free parking! I would definitely stay here again if we are in the area. They have free breakfast - just your basic bagels, bananas, granola bars, coffee, tea, etc. Still nothing to complain about! read more

So we were touring through Santa Barbara, & this was literally the only room we could find that was cost efficient remotely near the town that was open...including Motel 6. This place has a giant jacuzzi with down to earth locals to talk to...including the owner. The hotel is pet friendly, clean, free bagels & coffee in the morning, & Scott the owner is very passionate about 80s music & will literally school you on it. There were 5 of us in one room, one roll-away bed, & it was amazing. & Johnny Cash retired in this community, so cool. There's a cool coffee shop with live music nearby & of course, The Deer Lodge. Hotel was great if you're looking for a very very clean, quiet, and convenient location. 10 minutes to Ventura, Ojai 10 minutes away. Couldn't have asked for more and will definitely stay here again. Needed a place to stay for the Ventura Half Marathon. Decided on this place because they let dogs stay with you for just $15/day per dog. Many other hotels charge at least $100/day per dog. Check in was easy since I booked online. If you book from a travel website, just add a note when you checkout about how many dogs you have and how long you'll be staying. Just FYI, the dog rooms are only on the first floor and there isn't much grass for you to walk them around. Our room was very clean. The bathroom is HUGE. The microwave and fridge are clean and are in the corner of the room next to the table and chairs. I can't tell you about the carpet because I always bring my own slippers but they looked as clean as could be. My only issue was the bed. It's horribly soft and doesn't work for my back at all. I brought my own pillows because I'm a side sleeper. Also, since the dog rooms are only on the first floor, you can hear your neighbors upstairs walking around. We got to the hotel around 8pm and even though there was no vacancy, there was still plenty of parking. There's a Thai place right down the road that is walking distance and there's a gas station across the street. read more

Was lucky to find a room available last weekend, last minute, at the Oakridge Inn. It was Valentine's Weekend and President's Day and everywhere else was completely booked. My partner and myself were pleasantly surprised to get such a cosy room at an inexpensive price. It was comfortable and very clean. Ventura Highway is nearby but the windows are double paned so noise wasn't a problem at all. Scott was very helpful and informative and gave us some tourist tips and general info about some nearby hiking. The Oakridge Inn is just a few miles from Ojai which I found to be great. After hanging out in town it was nice to drive the 4 miles away and get away from the trendy atmosphere on Main Street Ojai. There's also a Starbucks just down the road which makes morning coffee an easy errand. Will definitely stay here next time we find ourselves in the area. read more
