We had a fantastic experience with Wade and Sunstorm! It was our first time in a camper van, and we couldn't have asked for anything more. We took "Slim" up to Sequoia National Forest and it was the perfect home away from home in the woods. Despite being loaded with gear, the van had a lot of get-up-and-go on the freeway and handled surprisingly well on the twisty mountain roads. The van was basically brand new (lucky us!), and was fully stocked with all the essentials. The bed was super comfy and the house battery never dropped below 85 despite us being parked in a wooded area for most of the trip. We found the 20 gallon fresh water tank was the perfect amount for about 4 days of dishes and misc. But you could definitely stretch that if you're careful. Wade is a gracious host and his service is very responsive. He coordinated with us for pickup and was flexible on the details, and even let us know that we'd left some items in the van. My girlfriend and I planned a road trip down to Arizona and Utah for the weekend. We thought it be best to rent a conversion van as opposed to getting a place in every place we stopped, which was one of the smartest decisions we made. We got "Freddie" and had absolutely everything we needed and made our travels so much more fun and convenient. We stopped in places we didn't plan to stop before and was probably where we had the most fun. From Lake Havasu, to Grand Canyon, Coral Pink Sand Dunes and ending our trip at Zion. We would look for campgrounds that had water hookups and pay a small fee of 30-50 the night, but it was worth it since we didn't have to unload or load up our cars - it was all in our van. I would recommend getting a small stove to make your food, but other than that everything was PERFECT. I had a great time and will 100% be recommending wade and his campervans to any of my friends who enjoy traveling and road trips just as much as I do. It was easy to drive and the visibility was great (although at first you are kinda like uhhhh this feels weird). After 15 days on the road, I now feel weird driving my own personal vehicle and miss driving this camper van hahaha. I was very apprehensive before the trip about it being difficult to park or maneuver, and was pleasantly surprised at how easy and smooth it all was. Having unlimited miles was also a plus. We rented a van for 10 nights to take up the coast of California - 10/10 across the board for driving, safety, and comfort. The entire conversion is thoughtfully designed, from the fresh/grey water tanks to the table that slides out from under the bed, to the maximized storage, and of course, the solar panels and battery system to keep it running 24/7. We ended up being caught in essentially 10 days of torrential downpour and were dry, warm, and cozy in the van - with everything we needed at our disposal. All you will need for your lil van road trip & then some! This was our first retro outfitted van experience & it truly exceeded our expectations. Literally will never camp any other way again. Wade has definitely perfected the pimped out van situation. First, in comparison to a RV, driving a van is SO much easier to maneuver & park. Our van was a 2021 Ram Promaster, and it was so super smooth. Super clean interior design, great lighting, plenty of storage space above and below, USB ports all around. Some amenity highlights include: solar panel battery which operates mini refrigerator + freezer +lighting. Kitchen w sink, fresh water tank. Plenty of Countertop space & basic cooking supplies. Outdoor rug & chairs x 2. Temperpedic bed & fluffy pillows. Stepping stool, broom (Probably my favorite prop, i never realized how much I love sweeping ) Optional rental (HIGHLY recommend!): Coffee maker, mini compact toilet (this is yours to keep lol); ice chest (we actually never ended up using); propane stove. Other items available, but we didn't get them. The ONLY thing the van did not come equipped with, and we may have missed this being told to us, was a blanket for the bed (fitted sheet & pillow covers included) . But all good- we made do with cozy onesies, 2 towels, and mega cuddles. Wade was very accommodating, communicative & understanding of our schedule and gave us an A1 world tour of 50 Cent and told us everything we needed to know. I have always been someone who feels deeply connected with the Earth. Being outdoors, smelling fresh chlorophyll, and soaking sunshine is the best therapy. I was always a bare bones camper, throw up a tent and light a fire. BUT... due to current circumstances renting a converted van seemed more appealing. WOW, Sunstorm Vans absolutely changed my perspective. I was able to travel further distances, pull into campsites late at night, hike more remote and experience outdoor activities longer. Having a van gave me the luxury of not wasting my time setting up and breaking down camp. We went to the Valley of fire, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon and the Mojave Desert all within a 5 night trip!!! It was an awesome adventure that would not have been possible if we had our basic camping gear. We rolled into camp at dark, rolled out at sunrise. It was an extraordinary freedom to have. I never felt entirely comfortable camping in BLM or dispersed camping when rolling into sites late at night, but having a Van made it so much easier, especially when a lot of campsites are full. A camper van is the answer to that problem, because you can almost camp anywhere. The solar panels are awesome, had power to charge all my devices and then some! Having a sink to do dishes/wash hands/face was a nice perk. The refrigerator was always cold and charged, kept the brewskies extra cold for that after hike reward! HAHA! We've rented with Sunstorm Vans two times this year, and both times were incredible. My husband and I are hooked! We aren't huge campers, and were originally nervous to rent a camper van, but Wade and Hannah made the process SO easy. When we arrived, he gave us a tour and showed us how everything worked. Also, his vans are unbranded (no loud designs or colors or anything), which helped us feel safe to sleep in it (it was so inconspicuous and could pass as just a normal sprinter van). The vans we rented were "Smalls" and "2Pac" and both were easy to drive, and surprisingly spacious. We never felt like we didn't have enough room (there were multiple cabinets/storage). There's also a desk to eat or use a laptop on. And the best part is we got to take our pup with us. I cannot say enough about my rental with Wade and Hannah. My pup Milly and I rented their 2017 Promaster camper van, "Smalls", for a trip up the coast and into Yosemite. First of all, "Smalls" was incredibly easy to drive. You can drive a car? Great! You can drive this van. Thanks to the back up camera and back windows, it was also really easy to park and back out of or into spots. There was TONS of storage, and believe me, I am a classic over-packer. I still had plenty of room for weeks worth of clothes and food. Speaking of food, the fridge worked like an absolute charm keeping all my stuff nice and cool the entire trip. The electric on this thing is amazing! I never saw the battery dip below 85% even when using the lights, plugs, sink, you name it, AND being parked in partial shade while in Yosemite. The outdoor shower and sink get GREAT water pressure. And the outdoor shower was a huge asset while traveling with the dog. No one wants a sandy pup in that fabulous bed. And yes, the bed is super comfy. I'm 5'10" and had PLENTY of room. Plus "Smalls" really came with anything you could need to have a great trip- plates, cups, utensils, camping chairs, shades for all the windows for privacy, and the list goes on. This is my first van rental and the process could not have been any better. I found a perfect van with Sunstorm Vans in La Crescenta, CA. The price was right and the van was a new 2022 Dodge Ram ProMaster named "Cher". Wade responded quickly and answered all my questions. He had plenty of pictures and a video to explain everything in the van and also did a walk through when I picked it up. I was able to take my 120 lb. Rottweiler, Rocco, with me which is another reason I went with Sunstorm. I rented the van for 13 days and traveled from L.A. to MD and back. The 2022 ProMaster had the latest safety technology. At times during the trip I experienced high winds and heavy rain but the crosswind assist made me feel safe. The layout in the van was very nice and comfortable. I didn't need to bring anything, but food and clothes. The van comes stock with kitchenware. I enjoyed the trip very much. What an experience! This was our first time renting a camper van and Sunstorm's 2017 Promaster camper "Smalls" was such a delight. We took it up to Sequoia National Park and the drive was a breeze. I was a bit worried about whether it would be hard to drive but it handled so well! No learning curve at all. The interior is so clean and comfortable - many people stopped to comment at the campgrounds. I felt like I was traveling in a mini apartment the whole weekend! It comes with every amenity you can think of. A sink, fridge, big comfy bed, lots of storage, power... As a freelancer who works from my computer, having charging ports and outlets deep in the forest was major. And since the van battery is powered by solar panels, you don't have to find a campground with hookups or rely on a battery that may run out. Just park in the sun and power-up! My husband and I, along with our two dogs, rented the 2018 Thor Mercedes Diesel Sprinter Chateau for a two week adventure from Los Angeles to Portland, OR and several stops in-between (July 7-20th, 2019). The vehicle was immaculate, comfortable and incredibly easy to maneuver - surprisingly great gas mileage too! We way over packed - I only mention as an indication of the home's ample storage - and still had plenty of space. This was our first time in an RV and Wade was very thorough going over the operating details and answering all our questions. Easy hookups and first-class vehicle features/amenities. Additionally, on top of several recommendations and tips Wade provided - he suggested the app RV Parky, which helped us tremendously as we tend to fly by the seat of our pants and only had one of our main RV sites booked in advance. Unfortunately, we experienced a fluke incident where the vehicle had a minor mechanical issue at the very end of our trip. The roadside assistance was not something we planned on using due to the newness of the vehicle but they delivered and the service was good. Wade, the owner of the vehicle and company La Motorhome Rentals, was absolutely amazing! Superior customer service and care is not lost on this guy or his company. He was with us every step of the way - making sure we were getting all the help we needed and troubleshooting with both us and roadside assistance. Unfortunately, it was Saturday and the vehicle would need some repairs. The mechanic wouldn't be able to fix until Monday. Wade jumped into action and ensured we had a car rental and hotel so we could get back to our lives as scheduled. The reality is, in the moment, the above was not ideal and I was annoyed. However, being broke down in an RV is way better than being in a regular car - also we were at the end of our trip. Additionally, I can say with certainty that it was a total fluke and I would be confident renting the exact same vehicle from Wade / La Motorhome Rentals again. I truly appreciate quality/meaningful customer service and when business owners value me as a client. Not only do I look forward to being a repeat customer but I've already recommended Wade / La Motorhome Rentals to three different colleagues who have expressed a desire to hit the open road in comfort and style as we did. Smalls was everything we wanted in a Van and more! My fiancé and I had the best weekend in Joshua Tree camping. The Van came stocked with everything we needed for our trip, we loaded up the fridge and took off! I can't say enough how kind and knowledgeable Wade and Hannah were. My girlfriend and I rented "Marshall" from Sunstorm Vans and spent two weeks visiting Saguaro, White Sands, Big Bend, and Guadalupe Mountains National Parks. We've done a few road trips before but were pretty tired of pitching a tent each night and dealing with bugs and freezing temps. After 12 nights in the van, we were blown away by just how comfortable and luxurious it was. The bed was very cozy and we didn't have any issues with the mattress size despite being 6'0" and 5'9". We were never able to get the battery below 84% despite charging laptops, phones, using a toaster, etc. The driver and passenger seats were very comfortable and the bluetooth was great for music and podcasts. We'd both only driven sedans in the past and had no issue getting used to the van ... it drives more like a minivan than a truck and fits in your typical parking spots (the rearview camera helped!). Although we were new to van life, Wade's how-to video took care of any learning curve in terms of refilling water, dumping grey water, and so on.
