Being at the beach is my favorite place to be but Dockweiler just didn't do it for me at all. The RV sites are small, quiet time hours were never enforced, and there was always a constant traffic of people walking through our small site to get to the beach. They don't even have security or anyone to call. At one point I had 3 surrounding neighbors playing loud music till 2am. Another huge issue at this campground is that LA County allows the homeless to camp right on the beach where most families would set up their umbrellas and beach chairs. That was my ultimate concern as it can be a huge hazard. Nothing or no one is protecting innocent families from being poked by a needle left behind. At one point a young man who was clearly intoxicated on some sort of substance walked up to me as I was sitting at my campsite and asked me for a bottle of water or soda. I figured water would quench his thirst so I gave him water and something to eat and he then stumbled away. Minutes later my friend text me that the young man was passed out just feet from her RV door. Her husband talked to the park and they told him to call PD if he bothered them. Let's be honest..the cops aren't going to do anything about it so my friend had to deal with him herself. She offered him water and snacks then asked him kindly to move elsewhere as he was lying at the entrance to the beach from her and her neighbors site. He did but he then moved over to the public restrooms and passed out again. Yeah...no thanks. Definitely not a fan of this place at all. Take a ride on the bike lane that runs behind the campground and you'll pass numerous encampments on the sand. LA County needs to do better and the park needs to fight for the the safety of the paid patrons that are staying at their park.

Fun place right on the beach, just minutes (biking or driving) from restaurants, coffee shops, bars. Easy access to the biking path and beach volleyball courts. Very dog friendly, and has several places to camp out on concrete pads for Class B (sprinter van types) with plenty of sandy area to set up camp. Also, super close to the bathrooms. Not a lot of trees or shade, so bring your own (shade, lol) Everyone at the RV park was very nice, tons of family-friendly people here.

Nice R V park with an Ocean view. There are some serious nice motor homes at this R V park . Everything seems like it's in good condition. There are no other Beach area R V parks in this immediate area.

Friendly staff, well organized, and a fantastic location. Incredible Sunset view. Bring blankets and a beach chair and have a great time

This is how I like to spend my evenings at the RV park.

I live this RV park because it has BeachFront views. It is fully serviced and has friendly staff.

The location is awesome! Lots of noise from planes flying in and out, but I like it. The spots are right next to each other, which isn't ideal, but it is right on the beach, so worth it anyway. No guest parking and if your extra vehicle doesn't fit, which it should, you have to park it on the lot next to the park. The one thing I didn't care for at all, were the street lamps.. I woke up multiple times thinking it was morning already because it looked so light outside. The bathrooms aren't anything to rave about either. Ended up showering in the RV. Thankfully it's all full hookup here! Overall, I would definitely stay here again because of the park's proximity to the ocean.

Love love love LOVED this RV park. If you are looking for a place to stay near a beach with access to bathrooms+showers and electricity hook ups, this is where you want to stay. Location was in a beautiful area, the only complaint about staying here were the people camped in tents on the beach, some of them approached us and were acting inappropriately. Once we brought this up with the staff we were immediately moved to feel safer and more comfortable. Compliant, understanding, well mannered staff. Be prepared to hear planes flying overhead since it's right by an airport. Would stay here again.

This 2021 map indicates 45' campsites even numbered sites 36-85. This map contains Information I was unable to locate elsewhere. Thank you.

Wow no reviews yet? I guess I will start…read more Well, we found this place from another local RV park as most places will NOT take a trailer older than 10 years old! It was getting extremely ridiculous!! I guess our state has had restrictions, idk, I think it has to do with each property owner! What if we have a vintage restored? still nobody will take it because of age. So frustrating!!! I'm sure most of you RV'ers and travel trailer/5th wheel owners know this very well and how much it can disturb you. We are not going to pay 50K+ for a new trailer when we have a perfectly good one! They really last a very long time!! So I called the owner and he was friendly, he has had this secret place for over 50 years.(not a secret now) He had 1 spot opened. My boyfriend relocated down in the area for work few months ago,so happy we found a place to take our '83 travel trailer. Didn't want to rent an apartment. The only things are one- its a very very small place- 9 units in total plus a duplex, 2-must have a smaller trailer-under 25 ft. (for several reasons- driveway and the lots itself are small) and 3- only 1 person aloud. Property is older. Not an issue for us. We fit the bill.( I visit 1 or 2 x a month) From what we have been told, he has really cleaned up the place too. Most everyone here has been here a long time, you can tell with most of the trailers. Friendly too. Thank you for this find. It really made things easier for us and finding a place for my guy. Area is great too. Everything is walking distance!!! Huge mall 1 block away and Sprouts across the street. perfect! A little loud,b/c of main street but nothing white noise can't fix. ;-)

Our family was planning a weekend visit to Universal Studios, we have dogs that we don't kennel nor do we stay in hotels with them, so we found this park convenient to park our trailer, stay a night and keep our dogs in the AC for the day while we enjoyed the day. It is nice and clean and has full hook ups. There is no pool or anything recreational like that, though I do believe there is a game room and gym. Like I said we weren't there for that so I didn't check them out to even tell you what was in them or how they are. The restrooms were clean and have showers, we use the restroom and shower in our rig but did have to use the park restrooms a couple of times. It is a clean and quiet place where a lot of people are long term or residential guests. Please, if you are looking for a place to "rage", do not come here, it is not the place.

We needed to be in Los Angeles on an…read moreongoing weekly basis and decided staying in our RV would be a much more cost effective option than finding a shared apartment or booking an Airbnb every week. BEST choice EVER once we found Hollywood RV Park! From the moment we pulled into the RV park, I could feel how different and special this place was. We were met by the owner, Steve, who is a Hollywood icon (and has the most amazing stories and personality!), who instantly took over to get our camper parked for us. Their complimentary valet service is second to none. Honestly, for US, it was such a welcome relief after braving the LA freeways. Steve has a great little towing tractor that hooks right up to the camper and off it goes to your site, safely and securely. It's a perfect situation. Steve knows every inch of his RV park (having built so much of it himself over the past decades), and he knows best how to easily slide your rig into the generous sites without you having to navigate it yourself. Steve has a never ending smile and welcomes you like you're family or a long lost friend that's come home again. Such a wonderful reception after a long drive. Then let's talk about the RV park itself. It couldn't be more conveniently located. Easy off the 405 and since it's on Balboa, you are on the perfect route for sneaking around the 405 traffic and over the hill on busy traffic times. Everything you need is within a few minutes drive and there's even a grocery store across the street if you want to walk to it. But the park itself is where the magic truly happens. It's a Shangri-la, to be honest. Every street named after a famous Hollywood street (or area) and decorated to make you feel like you've arrived at the Disneyworld of RV parks, with gorgeous artwork and sculptures and Hollywood props tastefully arranged throughout the park. There's a lot of wonderful trees and greenery, so it almost feels like you're outside of the L.A. when you're in the park. We loved nothing more than walking around the park and seeing all of the decor and the wonderful site amenities that long term residents have put on their sites. Speaking of, the personality of the community at the RV park is incredibly friendly and welcoming. People smile at you and welcome you. It almost has an old fashioned feel to it where people greet each other as they pass with smiles and nods, or little conversations if you're so inclined. And yet, you also maintain as much privacy as you want. We've stayed there now every week (for a few days a week) for the past several months and I love that we were able to maintain our privacy but also felt like a welcomed part of the community. It's a very nice balance. The hookups are very easy and well designed. For us, we chose to store our camper right at the park, and Steve arranged it all for us to make life very easy. We drive in on Tuesdays and there our camper is on the spot Steve assigned us for the week, and then later in the week, we close the camper up, unhook, etc. and lock it up and leave it and Steve handles it from there. It couldn't be easier. I also think the pricing is VERY fair. When we compared doing Airbnb's long term or even renting a room in someone's apartment, there was no chance we could come close to beating what it costs to keep our camper at Hollywood RV Park and camping there a few nights a week. I honestly can't say enough about it. This is a very special place, run by a staff of incredible people. And Steve is a true gem. A legend in his own time. I feel lucky to have found it.

Because of this, the price feels a bit on the steep side, especially given the outdated bathrooms and showers. The pool was absolutely freezing too much to enjoy. One thing that really stood out as a bit of an eyesore (and honestly quite off-putting) was the overflowing dumpster. I discovered there's only one tiny bin for all the campers, and during our stay, it got so bad that it looked like people were chucking their bags of trash into the recycling bin. On the plus side, the people were friendly, and the groundskeeper was fantastic. He even took my trash bag and got rid of it for me so I didn't have to go anywhere near the mess. I noticed he was always on the go, making sure everything around the campsite was clean apart from the trash area which had really no hope. All in all, this is a place I'd consider as a stopover to break up my journey, but I wouldn't make it the main destination nor an extended stay. We've experienced better amenities for this price at other private sites.
