I was greeted by a wonderful young man that works there and he was amazing and by the time I got to the fourth car of test driving, I was introduced to John Al Katina the general manager. I have to say in 48 years of my life and buying seven cars from Big lots to small lots. I've never been treated this way. I literally was told that I wasted his time even though there was no one there to buy a car and I've been looking at the same cars that they've had a lot for the past month and a half matter fact when I drove the first three cars, one of them had major problems. The other one did and then when I got to the third car, I barely drove off the lot and the car died. There was one car that I wanted to buy, and then I went for it and they wanted a lender fee. So after John heard the salesman saying that they need to collect a lender fee from me and that he's not sure if he can negotiate it. This man john decided to have a anxiety, nervous panic attack breakdown and tell me that I basically wasted his whole day wasted his time he doesn't wanna do business with me. He doesn't want me to buy a car from him just because I have to put a $2500 down people spend all day sometimes to buy a car and think about it for weeks. This man literally tried to force me into buying a car and then once he saw that I needed to pay a lender fee he literally threw me out of his place and made the guy that helped me feel so low and I just can't even believe I'm appalled at the service my I was born in Upland Memorial Hospital. My grandparents owned two jewelry shops in Upland for 50 years and lived around the corner. My parents all went to Upland high school like I am appalled that this man is even able to be the general manager of this place. I've been crying for the past hour, and I do not appreciate it. I would love to speak to the owner. Celine to let him know he can look back at the tapes and see how this man treated me. I just cannot believe It don't buy a car here. In other words I truly wanted this review to be full of truth of experience and worth. Couple of things I was worried about. Buying a Car off Holt. Lets be honest there are not a lot of things that I have known that are good to buy off Holt other than street tacos. Not exactly the place I would think I would have an amazing customer service experience with great people and great product. Steve, and the Team here is what I would call Magnificent. I was not exactly what you would call an easy sale. I was also a bit strangely organized financially because of my type of business so I proved to be a bit of a challenge for them. Calm and collected they were never worried. Only me. I left this place driving an excellent car with great milage and what I would call no buyer remorse. Mostly because of the experience which I thought would or could get salted over time but it has not. There were a few issues with my purchase that involved the navigation and control module. Steve assured me he would help me take care of it and another minor issue was that the lights are so fogged up they hardly look they are on. Once I get to a place where I can drop this car off I will have it handled but either way I can say this. There is reason why this organization is 5 Stars. They do everything right. They have the cars you are looking for and more importantly the attitude needed to make a good experience. In sales its about the CAN DO attitude. I was frustrated and felt a bit hopeless and they made me feel like I mattered. Steve Knows Sales and the Finance Guy not only knew finances but also computers. It feels good to be treated with respect. This is going to be the place my entire family and friends get their cars from. Here are the reasons. My dad would drop my mom off at work in the mornings and either he or my aunt would pick my mom up from work. We had a humble living and even with one car, we couldn't afford anything too new. The La Costa brothers were there to provide their automotive knowledge and extremely reliable recommendations. The cars we purchased from them throughout the years had no headaches. When it was time to afford to budget a second car into our household, it was legendary. We felt extremely blessed and fulfilled to have what others would imagine to be basic necessities. La Costa Auto Sales was a major factor in making that transition possible for their reasonable rates and reliability. I will always always feel grateful that they were able to be there for us during tough times. I went through the PenFed Credit Union Car Buying Service powered by TrueCar and received documentation showing a $26,105 drive-off price for this exact vehicle. When I went to the dealership, they would not honor the PenFed/TrueCar out-the-door price. On top of that, they attempted to charge me approximately $1,500 for a GPS add-on that I did not want or need. I had already questioned the GPS charge and wanted it removed. What made this even more frustrating was the condition of the truck. The vehicle still needed repairs, including brake work and an oil leak, yet I was being asked to pay additional money instead of receiving the price presented through the PenFed/TrueCar buying service. When I questioned the situation, the salesperson came across as dismissive and cocky and told me that they could always sell the truck to someone else for more money. I found that response especially frustrating considering the advertised price of the truck had already been reduced more than once. I came prepared to purchase the vehicle and had financing available through my credit union. I wasn't asking for an unrealistic discount--I wanted the pricing presented through the PenFed/TrueCar program to be honored and unnecessary add-ons removed. Cons: My experience with the dealership and financing process was challenging. When I first visited to look at the Tesla(May9,2026) , the experience was fairly positive. I didn't feel pressured the way I have at some other dealerships. When it came time to discuss financing, I specifically stated that I wanted dealership-arranged financing because the APR being offered was better than what I could get through my credit union. Despite that, the salesperson and finance department repeatedly encouraged me to use my own bank. The paperwork was completed, I signed the contract, and I left believing the deal was finalized. About a week later, I started receiving multiple calls asking when I would bring in a check from my credit union, even though I had previously stated that I was not financing through my credit union. I was then told I needed to return and sign a different contract. Since I believed that the deal was already done, I was confused about why another contract was necessary after I had already signed one. I returned to the dealership the following weekend and met with the salesperson and the general manager, Pauline Noaman. During that meeting, there was a disagreement regarding the financing paperwork and next steps. As a result, I chose not to sign the new contract at that time and left the vehicle on the dealership's property.(May 17,2026) Later, I received communication from the dealership's attorney stating that the original contract remained valid even though I had not signed the new one. I was also told I needed to retrieve the vehicle within a certain timeframe to avoid potential fees. When I returned to pick up the vehicle (May20,2026), Pauline was not present. I worked with another finance representative, who stated she was unfamiliar with the situation. To resolve the matter and move forward, I signed another contract. On June 1, I received another call from Kal, the Finance Director, informing me that an additional contract needed to be signed. This would have been the third contract presented to me. I declined and stated that I would not be signing additional paperwork. My issue is not with the vehicle. My issue is with the financing process, the repeated contract revisions, and the handling of the transaction. Based on my experience, I would recommend that prospective buyers refrain from this location.
