Last Friday morning (9/23/22), my car wouldn't start on my driveway. It was a work day. I called my employer that I'll show up later due to this problem. I've literally called 6 auto shops in my area and Jake (business owner) was the only person that understood my situation and squeezed me in to the first in line on top of the other 10 cars they're currently servicing. The other 5 auto shops had less cars to service and wouldn't give me the time of day. I brought my car through a towing service and his team diagnosed my car. Jake gave me the option of hovering over the techs as they run their tests and despite me being a nuisance, all of them were not only friendly but also respectful as well as telling me what these tests mean and how it'll figure out the problem. All in all, it turns out there was internal engine damage. It's a 2008 Chevy Cobalt. I've owned the vehicle for 11 years and done zero maintenance (except for oil changes). Time for a new car. As I pulled out my wallet and asked how much I need to pay for the service, Jake hooked me up and said $0. $0!!! (Maybe due to sympathy or pity but I'll take it.) I'm just a stranger to him! I'm a Navy veteran. I've lived all over the country and has been to numerous auto shops and not one of them has treated me the same way as Jake and his team did. I now own a 2013 Nissan Juke. I will definitely come to Jake for his services in the future.

As for the windows, they fixed three of the four window switches. I needed the car back early so I took it back before they got to the driver side, but they confirmed the switch was bad. Robert (our sales/operations contact) drove me to a couple houses that they worked on and I had a chance to speak with one of their customers. I haven't done a full exterior house paint job before so I made sure to get at least one other quote. Buddy Paint's estimate was about 20% higher, but I still decided to go with Buddy's because of the 5-Year material & labor warranty (the other company did not offer any warranty) and the feedback from the customer I spoke to. I also felt like Robert would take care of us. The crew was friendly and efficient. They prepped the home well. Robert was responsive when we told him of a few spots that needed extra attention. There was one issue (accidental damage) that I wish would have been proactively handled. But Robert worked with me to resolve to our satisfaction. Overall, we love the new look of of our home. Our neighbors complimented the work. The crew did an excellent job and had great attention to detail. Robert was a great with communication and follow through. Well I learned this from Daniel after my rear tires were wearing unevenly. Daniel was able to fit me into that day's appointment schedule and had me on my way in less than a hour of waiting. I received a full report on how my alignment was before and after it was adjusted. Alignment is under warrantee for 90 days but Daniel told me about the 1 and 3 year add-on to that warrantee. At either $49 or $99, it was a no brainer. I opted for the 3 year extended warrantee and will be returning every 2000 miles to get my alignment check up. When I dropped off the car, the technician walked me through their process, starting with the bulbs before moving into any potential electrical issues (which I really appreciated.) I had been here once before and had a great experience, so when my car's AT light went on…read moreunexpectedly one night I called them first thing the next morning to see if they could get it in. They said they could and gave me a timeline for working on the vehicle that matched my needs. While I appreciate them getting me in on short notice, they consistently over-promised and under-delivered on when they would be able to work on my vehicle. They were able to diagnose a couple of leaks that they thought were the problem and sent me photos to show me what they were looking at. In the past when I've left my car at this shop for work they sent over a detailed estimate before starting the work, but this time I only received the verbal estimate over the phone. I drive an old car, which isn't worth much, and I did let the person know that I wasn't interested in investing more in repairs than the vehicle is worth. As it was, the two leaks were just over $1K to fix, and I OK'd the work to begin. After fixing the first two leaks, they then came back and told me there was a third leak, which would require a more major repair to the transmission and they would have to have their transmission person (who wasn't there that weekend) send me an estimate the next day. While I understand that it's plausible that the third leak wasn't something they could have originally diagnosed, it felt a bit weird that the photo they used to show me the leak was one of the original photos they had sent before starting any work. If the leak was visible in that photo, I'm unclear why they couldn't have diagnosed it earlier. The added cost of this additional repair definitely tips the scales of worth-it/not-worth-it to repair vs replace this car, so I wish I had had all the information before deciding to make the initial repairs. Unfortunately, despite stabilizing the ATF level, fixing the leaks did not resolve the transmission issue. On a smaller scale, they didn't check or top up the tire pressure, which most mechanics I've gone to have done as a courtesy when working on my vehicle. The day after I picked up my car the tire pressure light went on, and when I checked my tires all four of them had low pressure. It's a small thing, but especially when dealing with expensive mechanical items like cars, the small things matter a lot in creating a sense of security and trust with your mechanic. They did mention that they were under new management since the last time I had been in, which may account for the different experiences.

Overall it was a bust and repairing it wasn't worth it but I appreciated the honesty and thorough evaluation. The garage itself has access through the alley, street entrance is pretty busy. We communicated via text and phone but during drop off and pick up the main guy wasn't around. He shares the garage with someone else and that person helped us when the main guy wasn't there (sorry I can't remember his name). Overall a good experience despite the fact that my car is officially dead!
