Employee at the counter was helpful and also stated that they could order it or I could drive to one of the other locations that had my particular battery in stock. Didn't end up ordering it as I went back to Auto Zone to order it since they offered free installation and it is closer to my home. Was a little confused as I initially looked up Pep Boys and they must be owned by the same company. Pep Boys was the auto service side and Advanced is the auto parts store.

My husband had talked with one of the guys who apparently was a manager so he was aware we were trying to figure out what was going on. We figured out after a while we needed a new starter and my husband was originally going to fix it himself but we were able to get ahold of a family member that could fix it with more experience. We were attempting to leave except my car would no longer start. At this point the store was closing soon so my husband goes in to let the same guy whose name i was informed later on was Miguel about 2 minutes before they close that we were going to get the car towed. As we wait for our tow truck we go get money from the bank to pay the tow as it would be cheaper paying with cash. That is when we received a call saying our tow truck arrived but the towing services from the store had gotten there right before them and refused to let our towing guy take the car despite them getting there around the same time and that they told him we would need to go pick it up at their lot. All this while being 8 months pregnant was very stressful and showed a lack of communication and compassion from both the manager and the towing service they have hired. When we called to get the address to pick up our car the lady states that we should take it up with the manager because he is the one that called the towing service and that they didn't know if we were there to go to the bar next door or what the situation was but that the car needed to be out of the lot. We informed her that we were already getting the car out and the tow truck we called was there to pick up the car but they're the ones that refuses to let it go since it wasn't convenient for them to loose out on the money. We end up having to get the car towed from their lot and had to pay $577 for them to release it despite the car only being held by them for a short time. Those people themselves are scammers that call themselves "Mr C's Towing". However when we went in this morning to ask for the name of the manager and the name of the guy who my husband spoke to we find out that guy Miguel was the manager on duty but according to the manager that was on duty this morning they do not call the towing services themselves. She informed me they have a contract to come by after a certain time and that they have stickers that lets the tower know which cars are authorized to be there. She informed me the workers have those stickers and that they can give them out to a car so that they don't get towed. This was information that was not given to us by the manager my husband spoke to the previous night. Whether or not they were lying about calling the tow truck on us we gathered that they still failed to inform us there was a way to avoid getting towed if the manager would've just been a decent human being and communicated with us the same way we did with them. If they were going to call a tow tuck on us they could've told us to get the car out and if they do automatically come by after closing they could've also communicated that would happen and how to avoid it. We are now awaiting to see if we will be getting any sort of compensation for what we had to pay due to failure of a manager and the terrible towing service they work with. Overall this is one of the most stressful nights I have had to go through especially as a pregnant woman and it goes to show how some people really lack basic empathy and communication skills.

I swapped out the car battery, tried to start my car, and started to get nervous when it didn't turn on. I went back inside the store and asked Kaileen if she'd be able to help me. She quickly got a portable car jump starter and went outside to jump start my car. When the portable jump starter she had didn't work, she went and got another one. The second one worked and my car started up. Kaileen explained that sometimes Toyotas, like mine, have issues accepting new batteries, which requires the need for jump starts. I wasn't charged any extra for the help she gave me. As it turns out, Kaileen is the store manager. This place has quality workers and didn't try to price gouge me when I needed a little bit of help.

Now three times, I have had wonderful service at this Pep Boys. I love the people behind the counter (I'm starting to recognize them) and I never get upselled into oil or other things I don't need/want. This time, aside from the oil change, I let them know I was having issues with squeaky brakes. I was taken back and shown my brake pads and given a quote. The price was reasonable and they were fixed in no time. I'll always drive right past Jiffy Lube to Pepboys for fast, honest service. Shout out to the manager (I can't remember his name) for his pleasant demeanor and helpful attitude.

I called Sunday to check on it and they said a technician wouldn't be in until Monday now. Monday rolls around and I call them again first thing in the morning and they tell me the technician doesnt come in until 11am! Not once did I receive a call/email/text regarding my car. I had to constantly call them (if I even got through because they will put you on hold and hang up. Multiple times!) Finally, they tell me that I just need a fuel hose clamp. It is now 310pm on Monday and they are requesting $300 for service and parts and I have until 315pm to decide, for the part to come in the next day. I agree and call back for an update the next morning and they said they would call me as soon as the part came in. Did they? No. Of course not. Then after extending our hotel checkout AGAIN (we are from out of state) at around noon, I called and was on hold for 30 minutes before the rude woman tells me, "oh the part came in and your car is ready". My car was filthy when I got it back. $300 and 4 days later for a hose clamp is ridiculous. Plus the lack of communication and respect for their paying customers should tell you to GO ANYWHERE ELSE! This place deserves 0 stars and I highly reccommend not bringing your vehicle here.
