    The lack of professionalism at this place is unbelievable--from the initial phone call to my visit in person. Over the phone, there was no sense of customer service or etiquette. When I arrived, the person behind the counter seemed more interested in his phone than helping me. He had an attitude and didn't even attempt to provide proper customer service during check-in. I honestly can't understand how this is acceptable. I definitely will not be coming back, and judging by other reviews, it's clear this isn't an isolated issue. Came in to get a tire patch and observed a mechanic going through my engine department and other stuff that I did not ask for

    This pepboys location and I were off to a slow and painful start. It took nearly a month for the work to begin and there was a few issues. However, after speaking with the district manager and coming to a resolution with the store manager things turned around for the better and they were fair in the process and pricing adjustment. The end result was a nearly entirely new engine. Thanks for making it right Mario.

    've been coming to this specific location for the past 4 years, and this past weekend I took my car for the last time. You lost my business. In my four years coming here to get an oil change I have never been asked about charging me $9.99 for resetting my display oil light.....I made a tik tok video to see if this is common practice as I have never been charged... I got hundreds of comments from mechanics telling me that they scammed me, and it should have been part of my oil service... someone point out asking me why did I needed to get a new oil drain plug, I was confused by this comment I went to look my receipt and I got a charged of $4.48, they never asked me, they never told me I needed nor that they place a new plug... they just charged me for it. If this is not bad practice I don't know what it is...

    They fixed my Chevy Volt right up. They are one of the preferred repair facilities for Carvana, so I brought my car in for a repair while it was still under the 100-day warranty. Desiree hooked me up. She was polite and friendly even though it was late in the afternoon where everyone is typically running on empty from the stresses of the day. She got my car inspected, called everyone from the dealership for my parts, to Carvana's 3rd party entity (Bridgestone) to check if the repair was covered, and got my keys back to me and on the road before 4:30pm even though I brought it in around 2:30pm. The breakroom had a Keurig with fully stocked pods, cream, sugar, leather chairs, and a flat screen TV. There was even a workstation, media charging station where I could work and charge both my phone and laptop at the same time. It was fast, clean, and a really pleasant experience. I am not sure what the other bad reviews were from, but perhaps they were from before COVID or a long time ago and the staff has turned over because my experience at this Pep Boys was easy and enjoyable.

    I brought my vehicle here for many years for routine work mostly out of convenience. What followed…read morewas a long, expensive performance art piece about how many times the same job can be done incorrectly. Highlights: Rack and pinion replaced FOUR times. Not "adjusted." Not "revisited." Replaced. Four. Times. And somehow it still wasn't right. Still feels like I'm driving a haunted house, full of surprises. Alternator replacement done with the flair of a minimalist. As in: the car left with one belt installed on a dual-belt system. Someone decided "one belt is plenty!" it's a bold, eco-friendly statement. Experimental? Sure. Functional? Only if you're into spontaneous roadside adventures. And once I decided to replace the belts myself the tensioner was missing from the assembly. Every time I'd take it in for something routine it'd come out with an additional issue. It's like a subscription box, but for mechanical failures. Warranty work that exists mostly as a concept. Multiple issues that were supposedly covered had to be chased repeatedly, re-explained, and in some cases paid for again just to get the car back. If you enjoy learning the fine art of "following up" on work that was already warranted, you'll feel right at home. The real magic is that none of this was framed as uncertainty or troubleshooting. Each visit came with confidence. Confidence is doing a lot of work here. At a certain point you stop being frustrated and start being impressed. Four rack-and-pinion attempts suggests either: 1. a deep commitment to learning by repetition, or 2. a philosophical rejection of "fixing" as a concept. Either way, I now know more about my car than I ever wanted to, which is great, except I paid someone else to know those things. If you enjoy returning to the same shop repeatedly to fix the same problem while being told this time it's definitely sorted, you'll love it here. If you want your car repaired correctly the first time or even the second time, and have warranty work honored without a prolonged correspondence, I'd recommend literally anywhere else. Including YouTube, a flashlight, and a ratchet set.

I went in because I was hearing an odd sound coming from my brakes and the dealership couldn't figure out what it was. They were going to charge me $300 to have a specialist take a look at it but I decided to just bring it here instead. Right away Christy took my information down and listened to my concerns. Kevin and their mechanic (I think his name was Francisco but I could be wrong) were able to determine where the noise was coming from within 15 mins of inspecting it. Kevin let me know what parts of my car would need some work in the near future. But what shocked me was they took the time to sand down one of my rotors free of charge. After that the noise stopped! I'll never forget their kindness and even though i'm moving away from the area soon i'll always recommend them to friends and family near Long Beach in the future.

Came in today to get 1 tire changed and the manager was some middle aged guy with a bad attitude like he hates the world. Outright hostile and rude to customers. I dropped my car off at 12:25, I guess it was around 12:40 when he actually checked me in (I would come to learn this later). He told me it would be about 2 hours. I said okay that's fine, walked around for an hour and came back to wait in the lobby. I asked how the car was doing assuming it would at least be up on the lift by that time and he snapped "It hasn't been 2 hours I said AT LEAST 2 hours." I said yeah thats fine i was just curious if they'd started on it. Then again, an hour later he walked into the lobby and I asked how it was going. He sarcastically replied "I'm doing fine." Then I said I was asking about the car and again he got upset, raised his voice and said "I said it would be AT LEAST 2 hours until they started on it. I only have the one mechanic here." I get only having one mechanic but there was only one person ahead of me and he acted like it was unreasonable for me to ask about the car again. It had been almost 2 hours at that point, which he countered with "No I checked you in at 12:42." Okay-- so it was an hour and 40 minutes not the full 2. Then he said "You're asking me about the car every 30 minutes." I had only asked about it 1 other time which was an hour before. Idk what this guy's problem is but he's really rude and I told him as much. Adding on technicalities and context to say that he didn't mean "2 hours" but "AT LEAST 2 hours" and not to finish but to even start the work. I wasn't even making a big deal about it I was just checking in. There was literally no one else in the lobby besides me. I didn't snap back until he started raising his voice at which point I felt he was just being disrespectful. I called ahead and spoke with Gerardo, the manager, and was told it was okay to come in. I showed up in good faith, only to be turned away in person. Suddenly the story changed to "the guys are leaving early," and the entire tone shifted the moment they saw my truck was older. From the second I pulled in, the looks and body language said it all eye rolls, faces, and an obvious attitude like "why is this guy even here?" It was very clear they do not want to deal with older vehicles or anything that requires actual knowledge beyond easy, modern, plug-and-play jobs. Then Gerardo tells me it's $150 just for them to look at it, said in a way that felt more like a deterrent than a policy. The money is NOT the issue the issue is being told it's okay to come in, then being treated like an inconvenience because I didn't teleport there instantly. Expecting someone with a steering issue to arrive immediately is absurd. The whole experience felt like they just wanted to go home early and didn't want to be bothered. Completely unprofessional, misleading, and dismissive. If you have a classic car, older truck, lifted vehicle, or anything that requires real diagnostic skill, do yourself a favor and do not come here. This place clearly wants easy work only and looks down on older vehicles and their owners. I left angry, disrespected, and shocked at how poorly this was handled.
