I stopped in for one of the combo specials and as usual the customer service was very good. For some reason there was a very long delay at the drive-thru, yet there were no other customers in line. The food did appear very fresh and hot when I received it. Everything was good, but the fish batter was extremely salty. I usually enjoy alot of seasoning, but I literally couldn't finish my food because it was so bad. I am not sure if they changed the batter or not, but this isn't it for me. read more

Captain D's - Fast Food Near Me - Pooler, Georgia

As Captain D's go, this is pretty standard fare. This review is really about the drive-in as I didn't go into the restaurant, but the restaurant does appear to be fairly new, well lit with plenty of parking. The good news is everything was available and there wasn't much of a line. The bad news is after placing my order and pulling up to the window. I sat there for another 15 minutes, waiting for my order to be handed out the window. During that time, the young lady working the drive-through window, simply sat with her back against the window and never offered an update or made an effort to go back and see what was taking so long. As I was nearing my wits end, they finally opened up the window and handed out my bag. Not totally giving up on this location, but I may have to try going inside the next time. read more

Captain D's - Two piece meal for $5.99 - Fast Food Near Me - Pooler, Georgia

Waited about 15 mins for my order, and my order was still missing items. And it wasn't hot!. I usually don't eat Captain D's & wanted to give them a try. It was a no for me. Staff was pleasant, not nice.. there's a difference. I went at around a 1800 so maybe they were ready to go home I'm not sure. It wasn't un-eatable but I can name 15 things I would rather eat with no hesitation. read more

Captain Ds is a good place for when you are on a road trip.they are fast and easy when you are in a hurry. They have fish and fries .did you know what the difference between fries and chips? It is that fries are thinner than chips.we are a family of four and we got four plates and it was why to much! read more

We had lunch here, the food was good. The restaurant was out of corn and other sides, they had no lids and only one size cup.

This is my favorite fast food restaurant! Sure it's all fried food, but much better quality than the typical fast food restaurants. The sauce station is great. Don't miss out on the D's dipping sauce. It's a Cajun creole sauce with a tiny bit of horseradish kick. I ordered the deluxe seafood platter. It came with 2 fish fillets, 2 crab cakes, shrimp and 2 hush puppies plus 2 sides. I chose mac 'n cheese and fried okra. The mac 'n cheese was good quality for fast food. It was thick and cheese. The fried okra was great too. The fried fish was good, very flakey and tender. The fried shrimp were tender and tasty. The crab cakes were my least favorite, mostly bread, but crab is expensive so not a surprise, however the presentation was great in an actual crab half-shell. It was a lot of food and I couldn't finish it. My daughter order the popcorn shrimp kids meal. It too was delicious. She ordered corn on the cob and fries for her sides. The corn cake wrapped in plastic wrap to keep it warm and moist. She said she couldn't taste the butter and could have used more. The fries were good, much better than the Golden Arches in my opinion. They have a VIP program that you can sign up for to earn points at your visits which can get you free food. We heard a lot of excitement in the community when they were building it and now we know why. It's good fast food! read more

I've been to this location many times, and every single time they get it right. My order is always correct, the food is never given to me old and stale, and they're always generous with the vinegar and tartar sauce. I always use the drive thru, however the inside does always look clean when I pass by. The workers have never given me any kind of unnecessary attitude which is a plus. I often order a standard 4 piece fish meal with fries and breadsticks and I've never been disappointed. read more

Captain D's - Drive thru menu - Fast Food Near Me - Pooler, Georgia

Since when did Captain D's return to its ancient mantra, "...the great little seafood place"? Tuh-day! Yep. Never no more will you order a Sponge-Bobish square of frozen so-called fishy like fried patty again here, nope, not ever! I was with my mom when she suggested going to Captain D's and I felt my stomach turn at the notion, but oh well since I am vegan and would not consume anything here anyway I obliged this strange request and off we went. She ordered the fish dinner which consists of a REAL recognizable filet of baked lemon peppered white fish over a steamy bed of rice pilaf, cole slaw, and green beans. It smelled good and looked delicious. Her plate was more like a gourmet meal instead of a fast food restaurant. You go Captain D's! I ordered some crispy fries and I was thrilled about that too. read more

I have definitely had Captain D's at least once in my life, perhaps it was back in Richmond. That, however, was years ago. I had an intense desire for fish, and as much as I love to support local businesses, I wanted a drive thru, an easy menu, and a place that would definitely be open. Call me lazy, if you'd like. I had the 3 piece fried fish dish, with fries and mac and cheese. This all hit the spot for me that particular day, even though the fries weren't all that great, and the mac and cheese was not the greatest ever. The sweet tea was a disappointment - Mickey D's would have been a better choice. Yet my favorite part of the meal? The funnel cake fries desert! Make sure you get some Strawberry topping on the side to dip them in. I'm not the world's biggest funnel cake fan, but I am plotting to go back, even if that's the only thing I get! read more

What is happening Captain D's?! Seriously! There's isn't any fish in your fish anymore! Just a slither of Cod incased in layers upon layers of breading! Gee wiz! read more

Crab cakes have barely crab in them. There different here. Ive had way better Captain D's.

Captain D's fan here. Visting new location, and the drive thru was wrapped around. I was so anxious! Lol! I suggest waiting to sign up for the rewards program as the expiration date is only about a week and half out for the free item, and they are waiting on their rewards system to be installed. 3/26/19. Sad face, fish was overcooked. Hoping this is an isolated occurrence. read more

I love Cap D's!! Every time we go there it's hot, fresh and delicious. I usually stay away from chains and definitely avoid fast food, but I can't help it , I love this place. Definitely recommend and will continue to frequent! read more

The staff at the Pooler, GA location are always polite and friendly. Especially the General Manager Miss Teedris Burgess. She has such a warm smile and greets us like family every time she sees us. The Pooler restaurant is by far my favorite! I love that they have grilled fish options on their menu. My son Van has to have the chocolate bundt cake at every visit. ;) Thank you Captain D's in Pooler! read more

Used to love the fish. It was cod n it was delicious. Good amount of white cod in each serving. Now they don't serve cod. It's now either catfish or Alaskan Pollock. Catfish is the better of the two. However the serving size is ridiculous. Not the Captain D's it was in days long ago. read more

COVID restrictions in place, only some employees wearing masks correctly, some had then under their chin. Tables blocked for distancing. Quite a few employees but they were mostly in the cooking area or working drive-thru. Food was fresh, hot and good. Main cashier was friendly. Food delivered quickly and a manager walked around to make sure everything was ok while we were waiting for our food. Had to ask the one cashier working the inside register for our table to be cleaned. Recommended if you are ok with employees not wearing masks #VickieTravelz read more

Being originally from Ohio, this type of food is always welcomed. It was nice to see that one popped up here in Pooler. While at first their start was rough due to the volume of people they had going, it has evened out a little bit. On occasion, they get the orders wrong, but this seems to be the standard for fast food places. However, that being said, the food is always hot and tasty and never "old" - they seem to not just let things sit around. Service is hit or miss as well. Sometimes they are very friendly and accommodating and sometimes they just want to get you out of there. I still am giving it four stars because the food is always good and from a fast food place, I only expect that. read more

The food was good the chicken and fish were nice and crispy, pretty greasy but still good hardy food.

I went drive thru and waited patiently. I don't mind a busy restaurant because the food is likely to come out hot and fresh. The wait was 15 minutes. I ordered 2 piece with 2 sides $7.90. I was surprised by the price, but its okay I can't eat food like this often. Unfortunately, the corn on the cob didn't have any flavor, even after I added salt and melted butter. Maybe it was sitting in water too long? I hope its real corn and not something made in a lab. :) Overall the fish was flaky and delicious and the fries were good. read more

We came down from Atlanta to get away. Wanted seafood but all of the local places shut down earlier than we expected. This Captain D's was great! Food was hot and was the best tasting Captain D's we've had. We joked that they had to be good since they're actually on the coast unlike the one we go to in Atl. The two people working the drive through were so friendly even when we drove back around for a condiment we forgot to ask for. Wish I got their names . read more

If you are thinking about trying to eat here don't bother, it is NEVER OPEN for dinner. The employees are rude and the food is not worth it anymore either. It's cold or not cooked properly. The last time I was inside the restaurant it was filthy, but they also don't allow you to go inside anymore, probably because they don't want you to see the filth your food is being cooked around. It gross. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The manager Ivory is completely and utterly rude! There is no customer service at this location. They had a particular special going on and the signage to match I was told the sign is wrong and they don't "have a button" for the special. If the sign is wrong and you know it's wrong why is it still posted. I informed the manager Ivory that I would be calling corporate regarding his behavior and his answer was ok with an attitude. I informed corporate of his attitude and the situation they acted stunned and stated that I would receive a call back from the owner that was over a week ago. I have not spoken to anyone that is supervising over Ivory. I was excited to see that we were getting a Captain d's but after this experience I will never return. I do not recommend you spending your money or time here at least until they learn how to show customer service. read more

Kahdijah was amazing and very helpful! My boy's had certain things they wanted for their birthday (twins) with Capt D's as a backup plan well sure enough we had to use it. This Captain D's is hot and cold. When it's good it's really good but when it's bad ..... it's hurricane Katrina bad! I went yesterday and ordered a 12 piece butterfly shrimp and a fish kids meal ( in the drive thru). Do you know I waited almost 20 minutes for it?! And then once I opened the kids fish meal it was popcorn shrimp instead! I took it inside and they were not apologetic at all. This is sad because it's the only Captain Ds in this area.
