Capriotti's used to be one of my top choices for cheese steaks. However, they changed the steak they use now and it can hardly be considered a cheesesteak. Very disappointing in quality and cut. They need to change name to steak sandwich cause it is not a cheese steak. If anyone knows where I can go to get a close to authentic Philly cheese steak let me know please. I really started off liking this place ordering it off of door dash. The sandwiches were quite tasty the first couple of times. At one point I realized a decline in freshness of ingredients with wilted lettuce and chopped chicken that was dry and seemed to be sitting around for a while before being heated up for the sandwich. This last time I couldn't finish the sandwich bc the consistency of the dried out chicken grossed me out which is really disappointing because I wanted to like this place. read more

Update to my Previous Review. After Capriotti's responded to my review I had a very pleasant email exchange with the proprietors. They apologized for my experience, said it was not indicative of their business and offered me a free sandwich to give them another try. I declined the free sandwich (didn't want my updated review to be skewed by a free sandwich!) but I did commit to giving them another try. Tonight I went back to Capriotti's, unannounced of course, and ordered the same 8" meatball sub. This time when the sub came it was definitely much larger than what I received last time when I ordered the 8", and in fact was very generous. I measured and it was 9 1/2" this time as opposed to the 5 1/4" I got last time. Don't know if they are always that generous on the portion, but tonight it definitely was. In my previous post I said it was a shame that I got such a small portion because the sandwich I did get was delicious. I confirmed that again tonight with a lot more to sample! The meatball sub was delicious. The meatballs, bread, cheese and sauce were all REALLY good, and Capriotti's has won me back as a customer. For full disclosure, I rarely give up 5 stars on the first date! Go ahead, call me a prude, I don't care! However, if there's to be a second date and it goes as well as the first one did, you better believe I'll up the ante! I actually stumbled upon them out of pure laziness and my inherent cheap factor! I was staying at a nearby hotel, and was pretty tired and didn't want to go out for dinner. So, luck would have it there were little menus in the lobby. I grabbed one and it looked promising! However, they only deliver via Grub Hub. So, after attempting to use that app all the extras really started adding up. A sandwich, chips and a drink was running right at 30 bucks! WTF? Yup, I swear! 30 bucks after their higher menu prices, the delivery fee and tip. So my inner cheap man said, "Screw this! Go there!," which I did. Once inside it kind of had that Jimmy Johns vibe to it. A nice, clean, organized sub type sandwich joint with plenty of tables to dine in. An eye opener? A giant sign that read "Voted greatest sandwich in America." I know, right? That's pretty bold, Cotton! No attribution, mind you, just that statement. Ok, I thought, we shall see. Greatest Sandwich? I'm not sure I'd buy into that hyperbole, despite the fact that I'm a huge fan of hyperbole, but it was indeed good! I got the "Capistrami," and it rocked! Hot pastrami on a hoagie roll, lots of Swiss cheese, and get this... coleslaw! Yup, usually reserved for BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, they pulled it off. So, being a huge fan of the timeless classic "Reuben" with sauerkraut, this was a nice twist. I was thoroughly impressed and pleased. Oh, and guess what my price was by going there opposed to using Grub Hub? 15 bucks! I swear on a stack of napkins, 15 bucks! Now I'm assuming they're a chain, but they're not in my neck of the woods. First things first, the portions are fantastic and tastes great. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bad... They have yet to EVER get my orders right... I am a systematic kinda guy, so I tend to order the same thing EVERY TIME. EVERY SINGLE TIME (about 1-2 times a week) they will undoubtedly give me grape jelly instead of the strawberry that I've asked for.. This weekend we decided to try Capriottis and based on our experience I'm not sure we'd return, certainly not to this location. I wanted to share the issue to maybe allow for some education to prevent it from reoccurring. On Saturday we were in a rush so had to order ahead for pick up. We arrived about 2 min before our scheduled pick up time, ordered 2 tuna sandwiches. When I walked in and gave my name the cashier found my ticket hanging, waiting to be made. No problem we got there a couple minutes ago early. Where the issues started were when there were no other tickets hanging, no customers in the restaurant, and 4 staff wondering around the food prep are and back room, and no one making the sandwiches. The cashier to one of them I was there and he started moving towards the area to make the sandwiches. The sandwiches were extremely easy, no cooking required, and one added peppers. Once the kid starts making the sandwiches I realized it was going to be a process! He appeared to be stoned, honestly, moving extremely slow. Finally after about 10 min I asked if I could possibly cancel my order as we were in a bit of a rush, that's why we ordered ahead of time, and he didn't seem like the sandwiches were going to be getting made. She said she thought they would be done soon. At this point, for 2 cold sandwiches requiring no cook time, it had been over 20 min from when they were ordered with again an empty restaurant and 2 to go orders ready for pick up and 4 workers standing around. After a couple more minutes I said that this was crazy as the process watching how slowly each step of the sandwich was going. Finally after 28 min our two simple sandwiches were ready. The cashier handed them to me and I walked out extremely frustrated with the lack of customer service, lack of work effectiveness, lack of caring at all about doing your job, and lack of at least attempting to do it timely. This is where it got even more of a problem. My husband was waiting in the car when I walked out. Before I was even fully in the car he was getting out and headed in the store. He said something to the cashier and came back, when asked what that was about he let me know the lazy cashier had flipped me off when I turned around. Now had I had been yelling, cussing, insulting, any of those things, then please, yes stand up for yourself. I did none of those, I expressed that we were in a rush, the simple order was late, the restaurant was empty, mine was the only ticket hanging, and I said it was crazy that it took that long and asked for a refund if we weren't going to be able to get our sandwiches. Do yourself a favor, either add 10-15 min to your pick up time to be sure they have double the time to make your order, or even better, go to either Cafe Zupas, Eeges, Jersey mikes, wildflower, or firehouse subs for a delicious sandwich, friendly staff, and timely service. read more

This is my 2nd time at a capriotti's. I'm so glad they added inches to their sub sizes. The first time I ordered a medium and it was huge and my husband ordered a large and it was like 20". I ordered the cole turkey which is pretty yummy. It's fresh pulled turkey, with mayo, Russian dressing, coleslaw and cheese. My husband has a steak sandwich. He said it was pretty good. I happen to love cheesesteaks and even more so that I found this place. They are known for their Thanksgiving sandwiches but I am thrilled about the cheesesteaks. They use great quality meats and the bread is great as well. I also suggest the Capastrami sandwich as well which is a hot pastrami with thousand island dressing and coleslaw. It's incredible. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is always helpful and easy to deal with. For all of these reasons I give this place a 5 star rating. read more

Let me first say this is my families favorite turkey sandwich spot, however we didn't get to enjoy it during our recent visit. I ordered two turkey sandwiches both with extra mayo and oil and vinegar, as these sandwiches can be dry. We got our sandwiches and they looked super dry. I opened them both up and I did not see extra mayo or oil and vinegar at all. I proceed to the counter to ask for both. As we are opening our sandwiches my son finds a hair. That was it! I make "Thanksgiving" sandwiches at home with leftover from Thanksgiving day and the sandwich that was prepared for me was such a disappointment. Bread was definitely not fresh. And the overall sandwich was missing something. Stuffing was dry. Cranberry sauce was tasty, but it made the inside of my sandwich soggy when smeared directly on the bread. There was 1 person ahead of me, and I was not greeted when I entered. The place was clean. But overall, just not the best Thanksgiving sandwich I have eaten. Would give 4 stars for taste, but not quality or value for money. Ordered a medium bobby which tasted fantastic, but for the price, it isn't worth it. For $11, I would expect a sandwich that isn't halfway filled and that isn't almost as flat as a pancake. If the restaurant improved quality and quantity, I would 100% come back, it just seemed like they were in a rush when no one was there. Food aside, we chose to eat outside because it looked like the restaurant hasn't been cleaned (chairs, tables, floors) in weeks. I would have expected a cleaner facility especially since the re-opening of indoor dining due to covid. I also didn't appreciate the staff member asking for tips after every transaction. I understand that tips are a great way to support workers and typically always tip (especially if eating inside), but it felt a bit pushed. I would suggest having a tip jar or allowing the customer to write the tip on the receipt (which already prompts you to do so). Overall, me and my significant other will probably not return even though the taste was great. I think management and training should be improved. read more
