I have read the reviews...but only after my visit. Glad I didn't read them prior because I had a wonderful experience. It was a Saturday evening and we did not have reservations, most restaurants in this area on a Saturday evening ask for reservations and I do prefer to make a res. Still we approached to see if we could get seated, he offered us a couple seats at the bar which I am totally good with. We waited only a few minutes and were promptly seated. I loved the ambiance and I like being able to see into the kitchen. They have a great selection of high quality liquor and wine. The gentlemen that took care of us were great, I hope I got one of their names right but I believe it was Dominic. I ordered the short ribs with polenta and it was very tender and delicious, the bread is also very good. Had my dinner with a glass of tempranillo which was perfect. Wine too. I had the filet. He had the flat iron. 5/5 They were out of too many items. They were out of the appetizer we'd looked forward to. When I ordered my main, they were out of potatoes. Fine. We finished dinner. Asked for the dessert menu. They were out of every dessert. Offered Haagen das. Went there for the first time before attending a Halloween wedding. We all enjoyed the foods we ordered, from crab cakes to crab burgers and salads, although personally many of us felt the prices were a bit high. My partner in crime had a solid eggplant parm but had the same feeling, plus she felt the serving was skimpy. Which it just was. Caprice is unfortunately just okay. Their prices indicate something better that just isn't there. Their staff is wonderful but this places needs a management refining. Every dish should be delightful and worth its price. At first glance, this restaurant looks like a great place to dine. The atmosphere is modern, casual, and relaxing, and the menu is full of tempting items. Now for the reality. They open at 11:30 and though we arrived for our reservation at 11:28 and doors were open, they refused to seat our party. We waited until 11:45 before someone finally came to seat us. Then, although we were the first party seated, the restaurant filled up quickly and we noticed that we were the last party whose order was taken. It took about 25 minutes to get our food, which was also disappointing (the food that is), to say the least. One of my party ordered the Crab Burger, which arrive with both a burnt bun and a burnt patty. When she requested that it be remade, we were told that the chef claimed it was not burned, and that was how it was meant to be served. Unfortunately, her replacement didn't come until 45 minutes later, at which point we needed to leave for an appointment. I ordered the Wagyu burger, which came with a similarly burned bun. I requested that it be cooked medium, but it arrived well done and dry. A complete waist of $22 of Wagyu beef. Seeing what was happening with the Crab Burger, I elected to just eat it any way. Another member of my party ordered a chicken sandwich which was over cooked, dry, and almost impossible to cut. She also elected to just eat it seeing that she would not get a replacement in time. We ordered a refill of bread for the table (which they charge for) and our replacement was taken to the wrong table and left there although we could see those diners stating that they had not requested any more bread and, in fact, still had a full plate of it on their table. We then requested the bread again, since we didn't get it the first time. Again, the bread was taken to the wrong table, who by that time had more bread than they knew what to do with. When we notified the waitress, she took the bread from that table (which had been sitting there for quite a while at this point) and brought it to us. Aside from the fact that it was burnt (that's a thing with this place, I guess), I informed the waitress that we were not going to eat something that had sat on another table for an extended period. Finally, on the third try, we got our bread. At least it wasn't burnt this time. The service is slow and unattentive. No one checked on our water/drinks, we only saw the waitress when she delivered our food and the bill. She never even introduced herself, so I have no idea what her name was. Despite the upscale vibe of this restaurant, the wait staff were dressed as if they worked at a sports bar with jeans, tennis shoes, and crop tops. I really wanted to like this place and before this happened, and even thought about bringing my family here, but I will never return due to my experience. read more

My personal order: spicy angel hair pasta had no flavor or heat. 0 stars don't recommend The waiter did give us 2 free desserts for their blunder on our order hence the 1 star. The ultimate screw up came after we tried to pay. Waiter said 2 of the 3 credit cards failed We tried switching up cards and again she said failed. My wife and I went for lunch during a weekday and we were seated immediately in the patio. They have complimentary toasted bread with olive oil & butter, but you have to ask for it. The bread was made perfectly with a toasted outside but soft inside. We then ordered the Wagyu burger & Ribbon pasta al pesto: 1. Wagyu burger - this was honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life. The meat was juicy and the combination of the meat, comte cheese, and teriyaki onions gave the burger an amazing flavor. The burger is expensive, but definitely great to try at least once. 2. Ribbon pasta al pesto - it was a great pesto pasta with a perfectly cooked & seasoned salmon filet. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and I decided at the last minute that I wanted to try this place instead so we ditched our reservation at another place. On a Monday night, I called around 6:30 pm and they saved us a seat at the bar for us. I didn't expect the place to be so full on a regular Monday night in the summer. The meal started off with fresh bread drizzled with olive oil. I loved how fluffy the bread was. My husband ordered the Wagyu Burger and I got the Pappardelle Pasta. I'm not usually a burger person but my husband enjoyed the juicy patty. From our angle into the kitchen, we could see that the buns weren't made fresh in house and tasted like a typical brioche bun. Initially, I hesitated to order the pappardelle pasta since I don't typically enjoy lemon cream-based sauces. However, this pasta did not taste very lemony at all and I mostly tasted the cream. The chef cooked the shrimp perfectly and I liked that spinach and mushrooms balanced the meal well. At the end, we had leftovers to take home and we wanted to try their cinnamon apple dumpling but they happened to run out that night. I would describe the ambiance of the restaurant as rustic and romantic. Overall, I'll be back but I'll make sure to make a reservation next time! read more

This used to be our go-to restaurant on Friday evenings. We loved the ambiance, the service, the menu, the atmosphere. We've been back twice since the pandemic, and their standards seem to have slipped. The staff is not engaged - they do their "jobs," but there's not really any hospitality involved. No enthusiasm for the menu, no checking in to see how our meal was or if we'd like a second glass of wine, no acknowledgment when we sat down at the bar. It was the same tired menu from years past (or if there was anything new, it wasn't apparent and our waiter didn't point it out.) One really good experience has led to three failed attempts to go back. The service is abominable, there is 4-6 people sitting at tables and the host and awkward waiter tell us they are full??? Literally looking at the empty restaurant and they refuse to sit us. They offered us patio seating when it's 57° outside and would not let us in. This happened to my mom and dad too, there's a very dismissive and rude undertone- it's truly unfortunate that this is how they treat customers. Maybe they only like white customers? I came here on a Friday afternoon for the first time. It was a little confusing figuring out whether to go inside to check in or just wait in line for a server to come. There were a few people in front of us so we just waited and eventually after they sat those people they asked how many were in our group and seated us. I'm not really sure if that's how it was supposed to work, but if it is it seems a little disorganized especially if there are multiple groups waiting that are differently sized. The people that came after us were equally confused. We were on the patio which was a little warm, but nicely shaded. The food itself was delicious. We got a burrata salad, pasta with wagyu meatballs, and chicken breast with fries. I really loved the salad especially. The portions were good. They forgot to bring our bread out but remembered half way through our meal and brought it then. The bread was super good. My boyfriend and I came by on a Friday night cause we suddenly had a massive craving for French onion soup. Honestly, I would return any day for the soup and the soup alone lol. While the soup was hearty, flavorful, and everything that we had hoped for, the other dishes were just subpar. The crab cakes we had were extremelyyyy salty - so much so that my tongue was starting to shrivel up after a few bites and I had to chug water. I brought my mom here for a lunch date and couldn't have picked a better spot. We decided to dine inside and the atmosphere was so pleasant. They had beige pillows on a small booth for two. We both admired the large indoor trees with lights high above us. The menu was very unique for example angel hair with baby squid. But I would be happy to try anything on the menu, it was such high quality. I ordered the fettuccini with meatballs and it was amazing! I knew when the waitress said she had it last night for dinner it would be a winner. When they brought it out it smelled so good! I could tell they really knew how to blend flavors right from the red sauce pesto and burrata melted cheese. The meatballs were lean and flavorful. And I was delighted that the dish was light on the pasta. It was the perfect balance of pasta to meatballs. My mother really enjoyed her salmon salad with an arugula base. For dessert we got the Bombe Andes, a cappuccino and Americano. The Bombe Andes was superb! It was a lemon almond cake with a buttermilk crust. The raspberry drizzle complimented the flavors perfectly. I would also recommend the chocolate. It only had a hint of chocolate and the crust was perfect. Once we were seated we had a nice table..we ordered a couple cocktails which were delicious! The food was also very good! After we ordered our 2nd cocktail, our server asked if we wanted any other food because the kitchen was closing and it was only 8:30 pm...we felt like we were being rushed out.. it left a really bad taste in my mouth. We had reservations at 5pm on a Saturday evening and were able to enjoy our seats until 7:30 for the next reservation. Quite pleased. Our server was friendly, helpful, and personable. She knew the menu well and was well versed with the wine list. Bread started us off then we followed it with the quinoa salad. We could have each had our own - light and delicious. The shrimp cocktail hit the spot. For our main entrees, I had the washing meatballs in marinara sauce (Pasta Ribbons) and my friend had the Spicy Angel Hair. We had quite a bit left over because we opted to have dessert - the apple pastry with caramel and vanilla bean ice cream. So I chose to look over their scotch selection and sadly when I asked if they carried Dalmore or Bruichladdich or Hibiki, he didn't know any of those. And I didn't even ask about age.
