My husband and I both had the day off so why not start our fantastic day with some breakfast. We normally head downtown or somewhere by our house for brunch but we decided to step outside of the box and try somewhere new. We have been to the Capri downtown. We all enjoyed it there. The food, the vibe and the service was all on point. So, heading to the Capri in Meridian sounded like a great plan. Our experience was great at the downtown location that we were sure our experience in Meridian will be great too. It was right before lunch hour when we showed up and it was pretty chill. We sat ourselves at a booth. A very cute, colorful gal greeted us with menus. Shortly after, our server came and we got our drinks ordered with her. I had asked our server if I can get a fresh basket of coffee creamers. Without hesitation, she said no problem! She also offered to put my coffee into a to go cup. I can't express my appreciation for her and her kindness. Not everyone is this compassionate. My husband got pancakes, eggs and bacon. I got a cheese and spinach omelet with a side of sausage. As much as I wanted the hashbrowns that came with it, I'm trying to be good with my carb intake. I'm almost positive the hashbrowns were going to be money. My husband's pancakes were huge and fluffy! He smothered them in butter and syrup of course. I couldn't resist and had a couple bites. The bacon was perfectly cooked! Not too hard and not too floppy. My omelet was tasty. The cheese was nice and melty. The spinach was fresh and bright. I do wish there was a bit more spinach. Next time I'll ask for more spinach and less cheese, that will be the perfect omelet. The sausage links were overcooked just how I like them. I dipped the sausage in pancake syrup and it was so good! I polished almost everything off. It was quite the meal! Service is as important as the food when you're eating out. And honestly, good service is hard to find. The two gals that were working today were fantastic and fabulous. I appreciate their kindness. Our server was attentive and considerate. Her assistant/busser/hostess was sweet and magical. We were checked up on. They made sure my coffee was always filled. Service was great. I'm happy we got to start our day with a good meal and great service. If this place was only closer to us, we would hit this joint up more often. I look forward to coming back and enjoying another huge omelet. And of course I got have some of them pancakes too. read more

I am being nice with the extra star because they really picked it up in the end....walked in and it's open seating so we were fortunate and found a table right away. But then sat there for a good 10 mins before anyone paid attention to us. What's annoying and a pet peeve is when others that sat down after us got attention 1st and I think that's the drawback with a seat yourself place. Inside vibe was not sure but either way completely clean. Once we got waited on all things looked up from here. For food I had the meat lovers omelette add spinach and green chilis. This was a very good omelette and was a huge plate of food. My daughter had the Philly cheesesteak with onion rings and while I didn't sneak a bite she said it was very good. My wife had the capri which consisted of ham, eggs, hash browns on top of English muffins topped with cheese sauce. We had to try the homemade cinnamon roll and to be honest wasn't that great. While it had good flavor it was very dry and would've been better a little warm. The other food everyone enjoyed and would for sure be back to try some more of the menu. read more

We were looking for a place to have brunch or lunch and we drove by this restaurant so we decided to just stop and go in as we walked in. It was very open. It look nice. You could see the kitchen you seat yourself. Someone comes and brings you some menus and some water and ask you if you want something else to drink. everyone there look very chilled. They were in normal clothes. everyone that work there was having a good time they were on their phones. the person who was bringing us drinks and he was walking around talking on the phone the people in the back bar were just leaning against the bar talking on their phones. Once we order our food was brought to us. I have ordered chicken strips when I got my plate you can definitely see they were not chicken strips or the chicken was bad. I don't know once I poked out it and smelt it. I noticed it was fish. The fish was overcooked very greasy my friend order a chicken sandwich and a pancake with bananas and strawberries which I think that was like literally the only thing that was good the pancake that sandwich was dry so once I let the server know that my food was fish and not chicken, she was like oh it's not chicken I'm like no so she went back to the kitchen. Told to cooks and stuff and they apologize and she remade it. I honestly didn't want anything anymore. I was really turned off by the experience and she said I apologize but there's nothing I can do about taking that item out of your bill. I don't have a button for that then she said I'm just not gonna charge you for the coffee. I was OK that's fine but I learn my lesson. I will not go to Capri restaurant ever again a few years ago. I went to the One downtown and now remember why Istop going. Oh yeah, the crackers were old still they had a funky smell and they taste bad. The broccoli soup was very thick. They didn't really have a good flavor. My experience overall was not that great my friend didn't even eat his food either. We just paid our bill and we decided to leave. read more

Capri Restaurant won us over fast! I was skeptical when I first saw the half restaurant/half ice cream shop set up, but they might be onto something here. Our group couldn't stray from the daily specials! One ham & cheese omelette and two orders of the banana bread French toast and we were three happy diners. The entire restaurant is very clean and inviting. The staff was very friendly and quick to serve. We felt very taken care of. The prices seemed a bit steep for diner fare, but we left happy so I guess it was worth it! read more

First and last time here. Regular burger had a very thin patty. Onion rings were good. My husband had minestrone soup, which tasted canned. It came with saltine crackers that were so old he had to spit it out. They tasted awful. We had the waiter smell a cracker, and he thought it was gross, too. I pass by the Boise location every day on my way to work ... and I've never been in. I had a hankerin' for some biscuits and gravy, and we hit the Boise location just before noon on Saturday (figuring the breakfast rush would be over). I remembered too late about the festival going on downtown - and there was a line out the door. On a mission to try their biscuits and gravy, we headed to the Meridian location. They share the space with Delsa's ice cream, so when you walk in it's this sort of cafeteria vibe. (A messy cafeteria, that is. The place was about 50% full and tables and chairs still messy and out of place.) There was no sign that said seat yourself or wait, (though later I did see it put away and not out), so, we sat ourselves and waited. And waited. And waited - while watching the staff chillin' behind the counter gabbing and whatnot. I wondered if we were supposed to go up and place our own order and asked the table next to us who said no, they'll come to you. I finally caught a young man walking by to settle a table that came in after us and asked if we could get some menus. We got our menus and then the waitress was there immediately; we asked for more time. I wanted biscuits and gravy, but I also wanted a meal. The waitress said that the toast option on my meal could be a biscuit and they could just put some gravy on it for me - score! Our food came out; rather quickly ... I will say that my chicken fried steak with gravy on it was pretty damn good. The gravy was good, thick, and while you could see the flecks of pepper, it was not at all peppery which is perfect for my taste. However, the hashbrowns, not so much. They looked crunchy and delicious - but the inside was complete mush; flavorless too - no salt at all. Just not good. One of the eggs that we ordered was not cooked. You could see uncooked/clear egg white in it. When the waitress came by to ask how everything was, I showed her the raw egg and she smiled and nodded and said, (not asked), "mm hmm, and you don't like that." Right, no, we don't like raw eggs. She offered nothing - not even to remake another egg. And walked away. When the bill came, I noticed there was a $2.49 charge on it for the biscuit and gravy that she had said "for the toast option it can be a biscuit and we can just put some gravy on it." When she came back, I asked about this and told her that she never said that, and that she should have disclosed this. She just smiled and nodded and said "yeah, there is a small charge for that." I KNOW! I see the bill. Most other restaurants would have taken the charge off or at the very least said they were sorry. Same thing with the raw egg - no apology and no offer to at least re-make the egg. I was really disappointed in the food and even more disappointed in the customer service (or lack thereof). Hi. I love Capris on Fairview. This was my first Meridian visit. The staff was nice and the restaurant was clean. Our coffee and water stayed full. I had the Eggs Benedict. Sad face. Not sure why the ham wasn't on the biscuit. Eggs were near hard. (Ham was very good). It was the sauce: not good not hollandaise not even industrial strength, restaurant grade hollandaise. Not even gravy. I can only describe it as Annie's Bunny Mac n Chz sauce no Mac. It didn't taste bad, but it did not taste good. Thumbs down on sauce. French toast looked very good. What a happy surprise! Stopped by on a whim and found my new favorite breakfast haunt. Wait time was nil. Friendly staff. Food was delivered timely and hot. No sitting under heat lamps waiting for service - delivered speedily to out table. I had the corned beef hash. Yes, it is from a can and I loved it. It was grilled with a great crust on it. Eggs over easy were just right ( some cooks have a hard time with over easy eggs...usually receive over medium on a hot grill). But the star was the delicious golden hashbrowns!!!! Hashbrowns done right!!! My personal gauge for a great breakfast establishment. Hubby had the Huckleberry Pancakes and he was NOT disappointed. Fluffy, fluffy and lots of great huckleberries. He ordered a side of sausage links and was "meh", just ok. They could do better with an upgrade to something other than Farmer John links. Place is clean. Floors mopped, tables cleaned and sanitized between guests. I did not use the bathrooms so I cannot speak to their condition. If I could make one suggestion to the owners itcwould be to clean the caps on the catsup and mustard containers kept on the tables. They were pretty gnarly with old dried up food in the cap when you open them. The catsup had gunk all over the outside of the top. I pasted on adding catsup to my hashbrowns. Why screw up perfection, right? I will come back here again and hope their lunch is as good as their breakfast. Standby for 2nd review. read more

I'm a regular at both Capri locations, I have NEVER had a problem, today we waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our order (club sandwiches and fries). unacceptable!!! You failed miserably today. Additionally, we asked the Manager to at least advise incoming customers of the wait and or provide a discount if the bill. He said he didn't have the authority to do so?? Sooooo your customers just wait an hour plus for their food and that's that!? read more

We decided to give this local establishment a try last week. We were both in the mood for a salad. It was about 12:30 and our server informed us they ran out of Salads, all 5 different choices. EXPENSIVE. My wife and I and our 2 toddlers ( 3 & 4) came in for breakfast. We were greeted very quickly and our waitress was awesome. The food came quickly We ordered verbally with our waitress just telling her what we wanted ... it's hard to study the menu the first time with little kids next to you. I mean what could go wrong ? It's just breakfast.... Right ? We had bacon and eggs and pancakes for the kids and a side of sausage and 2 coffees and 2 juices for the kids . Just a basic family of 4 with 2 toddlers ... out the door almost $80. I am not kidding ... I always add a 20% tip and with that the bill was $78. Wow. The food was just ok nothing spectacular... it's a basic breakfast. That's about $20 per person. Too bad they didn't have a kids menu. Sure I bet many parents just buy 2 meals and let their little kids eat from theif plates ... but I really don't think that's proper. But $80 ? I won't be back. Yes it's on me ... I've heard about the Capri in Boise but have never been. The Meridian location is close to our house so we went there today for brunch. First off, the service was terrific - our server was so nice! I ordered the egg, hash browns and toast combo and asked for the egg to be scrambled. The hash browns were toasted on the outside, but flavorless. No seasoning whatsoever. The egg looked like it had been scrambled as it was cooking, because there were shiny white sections. Ick. The sour dough toast was pretty good. My husband had meatloaf and mashed potatoes with a cup of chili. He said the chili was bland and tasted like it came from a can. The meatloaf was pronounced as "okay". None of it was worth the $30 it cost us. With breakfast places in Meridian like Moe Joe's and Biscuits and Hogs, I don't see how the Capri stays in business. read more

Servers were great..food was amazing...the sausage is just mind blowing. Only complaint for the 3 stars is my dad ordered an omelette and wanted meat and cheese... They charged 5$ f-ing dollars for him asking for spam on top of the omelette price. Lets be real Capri employees and management. We can buy a can of spam for that. I went here a few weeks ago on a weekend morning. It was very busy with the dining room filled with lots of people. There was no wait in line, but this place was bustling with customers. Staff were friendly and service was great for how busy it was. We ordered omelets and they came out fast to the table, which was nice. However, the food was mid. Nothing great, nothing bad, just middle of the road. Maybe I expected a little more (I don't know why). I may be back, but probably won't if i am being completely honest. read more

We usually like this restaurant. I ate my food and was nearly finished when I saw hair in the food. I got nauseous immediately. I advised the young man and he apologized. The waitress brought the bill with no discount. I asked and she said no they were not going to credit the bill. I spoke to the young man in charge again and he brought an updated bill. He then said his personal opinion was he should not give a credit because it was one hair and I had nearly completed the food. My husband and I have been to the Capri-Boise and were hooked on the food. Today we took the family to Meridian location. The service was good. We had our drinks and order taken pretty fast. My husband ordered the half order of loaded biscuits and gravy but they didn't make them loaded. I had the half order eggs Benedict and the ham was over cooked and dry. Maple bacon cinnamon roll was not soft gooey and warm. Kids pancakes seemed like they came from the microwave and not fresh at all. Hash browns looked good but tasted like paper and flavorless. We had been here about a year ago and it was pretty good. At that time I had the loaded biscuits and gravy, this time just plain biscuits and gravy with 2 scrambled eggs on the side. Last year I would swear the gravy was homemade, this time definitely from a can. No sausage or flavoring other than salt. The biscuits are a pan bread, not traditional fluffy buttermilk biscuits. The scrambled eggs were scrambled on the griddle and not much there either. It was ok but very disappointing since the last visit. Tables were all crammed together, the table washer was not actually washing the tables-they were greasy afterwards. Servers were on task and friendly. The ambiance was gone since we were all crammed together family style and it was just hectic serving. I'm gonna give up for a while until I see better reviews. read more

I've eaten here multiple times. I live close. I decided to get a to go order this time. I won't be going back here again. You charge an extra fee for pickup orders. I'm not taking up the limited space you have. Not getting coffee refills. Not getting water. I'm taking a fraction of your employees time. For that you tack on 15% to our bill. You are charging me more then if I had food delivered to my house. Think about that. I can have your competitors deliver me food for less. Luckily for me Biscuits N Hogs opens soon. Update on the pancake experience... We stopped in for breakfast two weeks ago, and while I wanted to try the pancakes, I chickened out and ordered an omelet instead. Since we were seated at the counter in front of the kitchen, I could monitor the food coming out, and the pancakes looked like they should, a nice golden brown. We will have to give them another try as we normally have good service and the food is normally good too! read more

I love the original cafe capri, and I understand short staffing. Short staffing has become a norm, and I don't mind waiting a little longer for food. Where my issue came in, was being forgotten and on multiple occasions, having to flag someone down. Drinks orders weren't taken for 45 minutes. Then once again had to get someone to take our order another 45 min later. 5 tables came in after us, got their food , ate and left before we even got our food. I should have just left, my kids were struggling at that point and I was pulling snacks from the diaper bag to get them through. One waitress passed by and said "oh you didn't get food yet?" (40 min after we ordered) She then let someone know and it was another 20 min after that we got our food. The hadnt even started cooking it until she told them. Finally the food came out, over two hours later, and 3 of the 4 dishes were wrong. Just really disappointing. I wanted to rate better but the lack of care that followed was astounding. I brought up my concerns, and was really shrugged off. The young man filling coffee was great, he tried to help on multiple occasions. read more
