Awesome place and food! This was our 1st time here. The hostess/waitress was welcoming and gave service with a smile. She also was knowledgable of the establishment. We order a Crappy pizza and a salad for the 2 of us. The greek salad is served in a large bowl, similar to the salad bowl you get at Olive Garden. For the last eight years, this pizza shop has been one of our go to's at least once a month. Service and quality have always been exceptional. I don't know what's happened the last two or three times that we've been here. I've noticed a change in staff and the pizzas have not been the same. Last night not only did the food take a little too long, but the pizza and the breadsticks were over cooked, our drinks did not get refilled, and I'm feeling a disturbance in the force. Please tell everyone to take a minute, make sure quality is in check, and make sure people are taken care of. Yes we ate at the famous places in Chicago and at Zachary's in Berkeley, Ca (outstanding) but alas they are not here in Florida. So Cappy's Was our only option. We ordered a Caesar salad (regular size big enough for 2 if youre having pizza too). It was ok, not the best I've had. Adding slivers of Parmesan cheese instead of the powdered stuff would help. We ordered a medium deep dish with spinach, pepperoni and cheese. The crust is awesome, however the toppings were quite scarce. Taste was good but where's the spinach and pepperoni? Still sticking to take out because of Covid so cannot comment on their service. Cost, $27.00. We will return, maybe mention to not be so skimpy on the toppings though. read more

So. Freakin. Good. Never been before but stopped in last night on a whim after convincing myself it's okay to spend $14 on a small deep dish pizza. They were very very busy with it being Friday night before Halloween and a business next door having an event. I was attended to quickly and my to go order was ready in 25 minutes. The smell of the pizzas on the ride home was intoxicating and made me wonder why we don't have savory scented air fresheners. The crust was so good. Crispy, bready but not doughy--if that makes sense, not dripping with grease, lots of flavor. Sauce is very robust and could easily pass as homemade. Veggie toppings were fresh. The next part of the review is for my fellow vegans... Y'all, they have vegan cheese-- Daiya. I know it's not everyone's favorite but it's definitely improved in the past few years and I'm grateful they offer any vegan cheese at all. It's not listed on the menu but they do have it! If you're truly not a fan of the brand, skip it altogether. This pizza really doesn't even need cheese and I'm a person who prefers having it. Their crust and sauce is also vegan! So are the bread sticks. The $14 price tag is totally worth it because this is easily two full meals and it's just as good the next morning for breakfast. read more

Ever since moving to FL in July 2019, we have been looking for a place that has Chicago style pizza, all we ever saw was New York style pizza. Then, someone recommended this amazing place. This was beyond our expectations. First of all, the price for a deep dish in Chicago is an easy $45, so when we saw that it was half the price for a LARGE, we already called it a winner. And then we ate this beautiful masterpiece. Holy moly! This was the best deep dish I've had in a LONG time. The crust was light, crispy and soft at the same time. It didn't leave you with this heavy greasy feeling like most deep dish pizza's. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone! I cannot wait to go back for more! read more

My fiancé and I go to Cappys often! I personally hate commercial pizza, and I typically don't want to drive all too far to get good pizza (sometimes I don't mind) but Cappys isn't too far from our place and it's always so good. We get half cheese and half Cappys, with sides of ranch. When we eat inside we will sometimes get cheesy bread which is so so good! The best dinner I have had in a while. $29 got us a calzone with Italian sausage, green peppers, and onions and a small deep dish cheese pizza. This easily fed 3 adults. Both were excellent quality. The tomato sauce is top tier. You can taste the freshness and the aromatic tomatoes. The calzone was my favorite part. Definitely try the sausage. First time going to Cappy's It's a little place. Just a handful of booths lining the walls by the windows. Seating is parallel to the counter/kitchen where incoming guests could order their to go meals. The menus are on vinyl covers. condensed. They don't serve pizza by the slice. We ordered two medium pies which were sufficient for the 4 of us. There are about 6 slices on each pie. As well as a large Greek salad. Ordered one chicago style, deep dish pizza, with sausage. The only complaint was that perhaps the sauce was a little sweet, but that's personal preference. The other pie was New York style, half sausage, half spinach and garlic. It was delish! Cappy's has been around for over 24 years, and there's a reason why. They only make a few things, and everything is delicious. Pizza ( New York or Chicago style ), bread sticks and cheese bread, salad's and calzones, that's it. All of their ingredients are fresh, and everything is made to order, the way it's supposed to be. You don't win multiple awards (check out their website) including Best of the Bay for nothing. For a refreshing beverage, they have all coke products as well as bottles of IBC Root Beer that come with an ice cold mug (my personal favorite). They also have varying types of beer and wine, just like a pizza place should. I always order a large "Cappy" pizza, which is New York style and is topped with sausage, ham, pepperoni, onions, mushrooms and green pepper, and it's always perfection. The Greek salad is another staple of mine, along with the cheese bread, just be careful you don't go overboard on both because you won't have room for the pizza (yes, I'm speaking from my experience as this has happened to me a couple of times). Along with the delicious food, you'll also get treated like a regular. Everyone that works here is ridiculously nice and friendly, and they always go out of their way to make sure you're happy. The restaurant itself has that old school pizzeria vibe to it, and every menu is on the back of an old album cover (tonight's were Neil Diamond and Barry Manilow).
