I had an accident, my car towed back to the original dealer, Wile Hyundai, and they sent it here. The manager was so scandalized that I had a FULLY SHEATHED gardening machete in my backseat that, in her own words, she "wouldn't even let any of her guys go inside the vehicle." Flash forward three times of it being there and they want me to pay to fix and issue it had documentation on since 400 miles. Flash forward to a 2025 wrangler with 400 miles that doesn't start and had to be towed in (tow driver also couldn't start it)... the say there is no issue. My Agent was great and accommodating. However within days of pulling off their lot there has been nothing but issues. The A/C doesn't work, they never did an Inspection, the car jumps when you put it into reverse and one of the speakers is blown. Called and spoke to Service, they said "That's not up to us, you need to talk to the manager Al." Talked to Al and he says "Cars have issues, this isn't my responsibility. Fix it if you want, or don't, doesn't affect me either way. But we're not covering it." What kind of customer service is that!? I'm mind blown. Will never return to this dealership. They forgot to unplug my fan when replacing my radiator causing my vehicle to overheat when idling. They claimed they couldn't replicate the issue but when getting my car back AC is freezing cold again and car doesn't overheat. Still charged me the fee to look at it. read more

I purchased a used truck from this dealership 2 1/2 months ago with less than 36,000 miles on it. The buying experience was fantastic, and everyone I interacted with was kind and professional. Unfortunately, when the starter failed so soon after the purchase, I assumed they would stand by their product and help resolve the issue--especially since I was going to buy four new tires and would have had all future service work done there. Instead, they chose not to assist, which I found to be both disappointing and a very surprising business decision. Over the years, I could have been a loyal customer, and they would have made thousands from me just off service, not to mention likely repeat purchases and referrals from doing the right thing, but this experience has changed my mind. While the people are nice, especially Jimmy, I'd stay away from this dealership, because they don't prioritize taking care customers even when doing so is financially the best thing for their business... which is really strange. I hope they reconsider how they handle situations like this in the future. If they reach out to make this right, I'd be happy to update this review and reconsider sticking with them. I really do like the people that I've dealt with directly. Maybe the person that made the decision, which never actually spoke to me, didn't have all the info or was just having a bad day, at least I'd like to think that's the case. read more

All around a very poor experience for me. I had my wife bring my truck in while I was at work for an oil change and tire rotation that ended up taking almost 2 hrs. After I get out of work I called to have them explain why a scheduled oil change/tire rotation would take that long. The first call ended in the lady at the front desk raising here voice and hanging up on me. The second call was to a manager who ultimately told me things take time and didn't know how else to handle the situation. I understand things do take time but up to a certain point. I also feel like if you are in a leadership position you should be able to know how to do your job. They need to do better! Not everyone will have a bad experience like me but after the consistency of poor management and leadership there. I'd strongly suggest you do research on a more professional place to take your business. read more

The moment I gave the down payment, I was dropped. I would call every day and never got a call back until I expressed my frustration and was given the line to Jamie, who, didn't really do anything. Every time I called, the person would act like they didn't have ANY clue what I was talking about. I waited 4 weeks of going back and forth with 4 different people to get my plates and registration. Oh. Then I go to get my inspection sticker and the car fails. I pay (idiot me) and call them about it and they say there's nothing they can do, because the car mechanic probably bamboozled me out of $500.00 and that different states have different requirements for inspections. This is not true. I was shown what a bad rotor looked like and it looked like mine. The service I received from this place was absolutely terrible. NEVER AGAIN. They should do better. read more

Excited to purchase this car. Not a jeep but a Chevy. But the make of car we had been looking for. Had problems from the minute after we signed the papers. No cooperation until we had to push hard to get answers and corrections to everything that was wrong. Over three weeks to get paperwork finally correct. Overpaid registration but no one listened and then we get a check in the mail to correct from them from DMV. Now we find a simple thing that should have been taken care of prior to purchase as part of the dealer inspection by them was not done, filling the AC. We had thought it was serious AC issue. Took to our certified mechanic shop to find this is not covered by paid service warranty as it is something that is maintenance. He stated they filled it wrong, did as a truck and not a Tahoe. They should have done this prior to us buying it. So I have to pay. After all we went through we did not trust them which is why we took to our person plus warranty person said we could do so and recommended we do since they are not a GM dealership. Did call to speak to the manager who at first was nice but then intimated that my mechanic probably was not truthful and it did not need coolant. Funny the AC didn't work and we trust our guy with all our cars for many years. They have bent over backwards to help us and give us best prices and best service every single time. So I believe what they tell me. He wanted it brought to him. Now why would I do that when they could not handle the paperwork correctly let alone service my car. read more

Bought a jeep not even two months ago for our son to have a trusted car ( those were even the words that came out of Jimmys mouth) since our son just turned 16 he is only allowed to practice drive, so only about 40 days from buying the car and around 400 miles in the rear starts making an awful noise, take it to our local dealership bc no one from Capitol calls you back or even email at that matter. The quote to fix the car was $4,600. We just bought the thing. I am absolutely floored that we trusted them to sell us a decent car and this is what happens. I brought my 2014 Jeep Cherokee with 99k miles on it for a look at an intermittent warning light about the 4 WD overheating. The car ran fine and shifted fine before I brought it there. They gave me an estimate for 4700 for a rear differential and some engine noises (worst case scenario), I had to regroup and pick it up to decide what I wanted to do. I still owe money on it, and the receptionist for service said that I could always trade it in, but with the problems it has, I wouldn't get as much. Well, I picked it up, and a mile down the road all of the sudden the engine light came on, and traction control, and it lost power. I took it home and brought it to another place. When I got there, the mechanics could not even shift it into reverse. Not to mention, they charged me a $180 diagnostic fee, that I have stopped payment on. I went in thinking it was a sensor, and left with a junk vehicle. I am now looking at bankruptcy to get out from under what they did. read more

I bought a 2015 Jeep Compass on January 15th. My car broke down April 9th and had to have it towed. A bunch of lights came on and wouldn't go at normal driving speed. Had to rent a car to use for weekend. Got car back today and it was throttle body connector. I had to pay over $1000 for it because I didn't have extended warranty on vehicle. The assistant manager AL out right lied to me stating that my trade in had excessive milage on it and was not going to be offered for sale on his lot but would be sent to auction. I pointed out that he had other vehicles on his lot that had higher miles than mine and again he stated mine was going straight to auction. The very next day my car was offered for sale on their web site and placed in their inventory on their lot. Additionally, as a side note they originally offered me 17,500 (which I did not accept) and then listed my vehicle for sale for 25,900. Pure greed from a dishonest typical used car salesman. When I bought my first new car at a dodge dealership at Capital Dodge in San Jose CA. The dealership has since changed its name to Normandin Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat. I was surprised to see they had written sold as is on the paperwork. Being young and inexperienced I wasn't worried because I had a free maintenance package. Every time I brought it in, I told them that the car seemed to surge as you accelerated past twenty miles per hour. They just kept telling me they could not duplicate the issue. I ended up moving back to the east coast and took it to Capitol Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Willimantic CT. They told me I needed a new transmission. I told them I had documentation of the problem from day one so it should be covered by my warranty which had conveniently expired a month earlier. They said I could talk to the area boss but for now to get me back on the road I could cover the cost of the parts and they would cover the labor. They told me they would give me a call when the area boss was in the area and I would be the first one to speak with him. I would call back a few weeks later only to be told that I missed him, but they thought we had worked it out already. They would apologize for the misunderstanding and again reassure me that I would be the first one they would he would talk with next time he was in the area. After the fourth time this happened, I got distracted and stopped calling but then that was their plan all along. I still remember the name of the manager who kept giving me the runaround. Rudy, a slimy car salesman if there ever was one. Guess each dealership has at least one. Wish I remembered the name of his counterpart in CA who was just as slimy. Great place! Had to take my car to their body shop, since I have never been in any incident I was not sure how to go about things. I dealt with Brian and I literally had to do nothing. He did all the paperwork and dealt with the car rental place for me also. Had my rental there already waiting when I arrived. They also had my car ready even sooner then expected which was great! They've always been great, the wait times they give are honest, and Victor is super cute which is a bonus lol I shopped around before finding the car I wanted, and they happened to have a great deal on a Honda CRV, used but with low mileage and in great shape. I got it for less than its worth (my bank even agrees) and they made the process very easy and straightforward. I dealt with Hal and Craig mostly, and they were honest and friendly and didn't make me feel pressured. After I left with car, I received phone calls from them both a few days later checking on my satisfaction with the car. Super glad I gave them my business, I'll be giving them nothing but rave reviews and continuing to go there for maintenance on my vehicles and for future purchases. read more

Bought a new Ram from this dealership. Settled on a price and a value for my trade and agreed to purchase, Then they told me the truck had been VIN etched and I would have to pay another $200. When I got home I looked at the glass and it had not been VIN etched . After battling with them they finally gave back my money. Then they told me they had to charge me $400 to register my truck and if the cost was less they would refund the difference. They registered the truck and sent me the registration but no check for the difference also no receipt from the DMV. I called them up and they said they would send a copy of the receipt . Weeks have gone by no check no receipt, I finally went to the DMV and got a receipt myself and it turned out I had overpaid by almost $300. I called them up and they said they owed me the money and they would send a check. Weeks have gone by with no check, when I call them they say the check is in the mail. My next step is to get in touch with the attorney general, hopefully they can help. Stay away from these people they are crooks plain and simple. read more

Highly recommend this body shop. My Nissan Juke had been parked and was hit on the driver's side door, which had to be replaced. They did a great job, took about a week (which was expected), explained everything before doing the work. Best of all, they washed and waxed my car, as well as detailing inside. I purchased an extended bumper to bumper warranty and was under the assumption it's was a Factory Jeep Warranty as I had did prior at other Jeep dealerships in the past. Horrible dealership!!! Got my car there last year. When we went there they said that they would fix the paint chip on the hood and balance the tires before I picked up the car. They didn't fix the chip and they didn't balance the tires. They said they sent the paint to me and i never got it. I called to tell them that the car was shaking from not balancing was told that they would look at the paperwork and if they said they did the blance they wont cover the cost of the fix. They admitted they didn't do the balance, but that they now weren't going to give me the $40.00 that it cost to get it fixed. They send me countless emails and call me all the time seeing how it is going and that i have service updates. They never fixed my other problems clearly i dont want them to touch anything else. After years of taking my jeep there, it fails emissions and I bring it in. They tell me $800 to replace the TCM (even though they replaced it 2 years ago). I tell them to do it. They call me and say they've done the work, but there are still problems and they recommend $3,000-$4,000 for a new transmission. Oh, and i still owe the $800. I ask if it will pass emissions and they say yes. I pick it up and 2 miles later the check engine light comes on. I take it back and they hook it back up and now 2 more codes for the ESM and transmission temp circuit. Now it won't even pass emissions. I'm disgruntled and the manager tells me they will track down the best price for a rebuilt transmission. Over 3 weeks later and they still haven't called. read more

I've purchased three trucks from Capitol since 2001 and have always got a decent deal on the purchase price in my opinion. My latest purchase was a 2014 Ram 2500 Quad Cab diesel truck similar to the first two trucks I've purchase at Capitol. My first two trucks...no complaints and they were solid, even though there were recalls, I NEVER had a problem with those trucks. I traded my second truck in for this truck and the problems began at 2500 miles with a death wobble. Took it back to Capitol to shrugged shoulders and a who cares attitude. They reluctantly changed the steering stabilizer and then there were highway vibration problems. Every time they said there was no problem with the truck, I had to pay for service somewhere else and found out they tried to hide problems by hiding bad tires on the rear of the truck or etc. Craig Lewis told me they would check what I wanted and when I checked with the lying service manager he told me there were no problems even with the driveshafts on the truck and I drove it home vibrating the whole way home. I took it to Connecticut Driveshaft in East Hartford and they told me absolutely what they saw told them there were problems with the driveshafts. Go back to the dealership...ask what the runout tolerance on the driveshafts are...blank stares and then the liar (service manager) tells me the first honest thing..they refuse to look at it any more and F off....and of course if I try to have it fixed Capitol said they would void my warrantee. Now the death wobble has returned and Craig Lewis of course says bring it in....after 2 days and a whole NINE mile test drive nothing wrong here. You want to purchase a car here go ahead.... but pray for no repairs because this place is a JOKE. There isn't an ounce of honesty or integrity here.
