Ok I have to say that I do enjoy eating here when I visit Cache Creek but the customer service...from management is terrible. What prompted me to write this review although it has been awhile was that I happen to see the manager that addressed my concern when I had issue with their wonton soup. I had found a dead caterpillar in it and it was brought to the attention of the manager, an elderly caucasian man with grey hair. I didn't catch his name but I happen to see him again a couple weeks ago. I understand that things happen but an apology goes a long way especially in customer service. The manager simply looked at my wonton soup and shrugged and said...."these things happen and are unavoidable" What a lame response from a manager. If this is what your management team is like then I suggest you find better people. No wonder why your casino looks empty these days. read more

Canyon Cafe used to be our go to place for Filipino food and late nite snack after gambIing, But lately it's been terrible, they must have changed their cooks/Chef because the last few times we been there, it has been Very Very disappointing. From sandwiches to soup to Filipino dishes, it is all very disappointing, the only one they have not messed up so far is the buffalo wings Please please bring back your previous cooks/chefs, or hire cooks/chef who actually makes the dishes correctly, we need this place for late night eats. read more

Sitting for 30 min now and still no coffee while I wait for my food. Service is awful . Super slow all shifts . Get it together .

It's about that time I go to Cache Creek Casino Resort. Tonight is the night. I haven't been here in a few years. And I never actually dined here, so this is a first. There's not a lot of spots around that's 24 hours, but this is. A lot of people out there look forward to a Ribeye Steak this grilling season. I'm here for a Grilled Ribeye Steak with seasonal vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, and mushroom gravy. I finally got my Ribeye Steak. I don't care what anybody says, I had my Steak cooked medium. Now this is a Ribeye Steak. I appreciate the grilled marks on it. The Steak was almost cooked perfectly, it was moist, seasoned good, and wasn't overdone at all. The green beans were sautéed just right, and very garlicky. This is how garlicky I want my watercress, red spinach, and mustard greens to be. I don't know if they used a potato ricer, but the mashed potatoes is silky smooth. The consistency, flavor, and texture of the mushroom gravy reminds me of Beef Stroganoff. I also can't forget about the Calamansi. I usually see Calamansi Iced Tea, but never whole Calamansi itself. It's refreshing. I was thinking this was going to be a 4.1-4.2 stars, but I give this 4.3 stars. read more

This is my go to restaurant while at cache Creek. I love how they have an American diner type menu, but at the same all-time, offering Filipino dishes for my wife. I ordered a steak sandwich. I really enjoyed my dish as the steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The French bread with the spread and all the vegetables made the steak sandwich that much more better. I ordered with fries and that was pretty good as well. Overall a pretty hearty meal at a reasonable price. read more

I'm surprised this place has hefty bad reviews because heck, I like this place! It's clean and fancy looking but the food prices are reasonable for the huge portions you receive. The interior is lovely. The dim lights, small bar, and dining area can serve as a good date night if you're spending time at the casino lol. We started off with the spinach artichoke dip. Instead of tortilla chips you'll get slices of flatbread which in my opinion was pretty damn good! I ordered their their teriyaki glazed salmon. That alone deserves 4.5 stars. The slab of salmon was huge. Actually, the whole entree was massive. Aside from the salmon you'll get a heaping scoop of steamed vegetables and a mound of brown rice. All for $17.99? Yeah, that's a steal. All the staff here are extremely friendly. I mean after all, you're at a casino right? Lol. Nothing but good food and good vibes here. Totally recommend!! read more

We went here to celebrate my birthday as my wife always told me the Filipino food was good here. They serve other food mainly American. The prices were quite high for Filipino food which is the only downside. We paid $20 dollars for Singnigong and $23 dollars for Kare Kare and $7 dollars for the fried icecream. However, we did have around $29 dollars worth of comps. The food overall was really good and probably one of the best Kare Kare I have had. It can be salty as it has a lot of sauce and I dumped all of the shrimp paste, but still very great. They did give you reasonable amount of food though for the price though as we did take some to go home. The Singnigong was good as well as the soup was good. I loved the fried icecream as well as it was caramel, ice cream and coconut toasted nuts. I would not mind eating here again however :) read more

Ok I LOVE the Filipino food here. It's like what mom used to make it I had a Filipino mom. Ask for the vinegar to go with your rice! They also have the tradition American burgers and such if you're not into rice plates. read more

As I mentioned in my review for them, my friends and I used to hit the Harvest Buffet every time we went to Cache Creek. The food used to be decent, but it was really for superstition. Essentially, it went like this - eat at the buffet, hit the tables, win money, go home. Rinse and repeat, though we weren't always thrilled to do it: Friend 1: For f*ck's sake, do we HAVE to go to the buffet again? Friend 2: Yeah, but we don't have a choice, man! We gotta do it for the money! Friend 1: Soooo, it's like we're whores then? Me: That's the spirit... Needless to say, when our streak finally ended, some of us weren't entirely torn up about it: Friend 1: Dude, WE'RE FREE! On this most recent trip, and potentially our last (#blackjackhatesme), we finally tried something new with Canyon Café, which is essentially their 24-hour eatery. Out of all of Cache Creek's casual dining options, it seemed like a safe choice given the menu's diversity (burgers, sandwiches, salads, and entrees, plus various Filipino breakfast plates). WRONG, much like my decision to split those 7's... Before I go any further though, I should apologize in advance to Big Al, whoever he may be. Because Al, with all due respect, your BIG AL'S CUBANO SANDWICH isn't very good. It sounded great on the menu (Roasted Pork, Black Forest Ham, Swiss Cheese, Mustard-Mayo Spread, and a Sliced Dill Pickle on a Hot, Pressed Baguette with a side of Onion Rings), but it didn't look the part. I may not have been expecting much, but it looked like you literally threw it onto the plate. As far as the taste went, things weren't much better. Hard and overly toasted bread, an excessive amount of the mayo-mustard spread, dry pieces of pork, hardly any cheese, and just not a lot of good flavors (the ham was really salty). At least the onion rings were fine (all four of them...), but that's not saying much either. Based on what other tables had ordered, the Filipino breakfast plates might be the way to go, but I honestly believe you're better off eating before even driving up here. Our trips to Cache Creek are essentially over with now that our lucky streak has ended, but if there was an eatery here that could spark another streak to get us to come back, I really hope Canyon Café isn't it. It almost made us long for Harvest Buffet again. Almost. read more

After a long time on lockdown and finally getting my vaccine for COVID19 I had to get out of the house for a bit, for my sanity. I took a 2 hour drive to cache creek and decided to gamble a bit and have dinner at the canyon cafe. I was expecting much to be honest but i was caught of guard. I ordered the steak and fries and I was surprised. The steak was tender and juicy and vey flavorful, the fries are very crunchy and tasty as well, I think they are pressured fried. So good. Needless to say, I think the food is awesome. Good service too. The prices and fair and the atmosphere is also good. Very pleasantly surprised, I will be eating here anytime in at cache creek. Both were super hungry for lunch. We were immediately seated and greeted by Vivian, our server. She was super polite and loved her service. I ordered the caesar salad ($8.75), friend ordered the grilled New York steak ($18.95), and hot green tea. I don't remember how much it was, but friend used his points on his cache creek club card. The caesar salad was good, but there was so much dressing on it and it was drenched. It came with a piece of cheesy bread that was hard as rock! Friend's meal came with either a salad or soup. He chose the chicken noodle soup, which k thought was a little salty. His New York steak was super chewy and hard. I didn't care for it... His mashed potatoes were definitely not mashed. It was super clumpy and tasted different. Food wasn't that good. Service was great; therefore, 3 star. read more

Came here a few days ago and had the chicken wing appetizers. They were great! We came back and spent the night here and I wanted to get another order of wings but to my amazement they were not the same? When I asked what happened I was told the menu changed. I'm like no its the same as 2 days ago? I asked if it was due to the different chef's? And the response was 'No'. They were very light in color and had a tough texture and not fried! My better half ordered the same item and they tasted tainted to him and had his stomach queasy. I didn't touch mine but sent it back thank God! My better half returned his wings as well! The Thai salad was ok until my stomach began feeling queasy. It appears they may have some sanitary issues going on! They need Restaurant Rescue at this point. Not a lot of folks here at all which is a tell tell sign of something very wrong. Had to leave here very disappointed and grab something closer to home! The kicker is I patronized them just this morning with breakfast for two! Not a good look and a piss poor excuse for poor quality! We pay for the food which should be consistent and up to par for the customer read more

I have to say that during the entire pandemic, this Cafe has been one of the most consistent things of the casino . The food here has always been very good every time we come to eat. it's good that they enforce social distancing here at the restaurant and that they have ample seating to do so. All of the staff members are fully masked and they also wear gloves. One of the things I have to recommend that you do try is their sweet potato fries. The deli is also a good place to eat, but I feel like the quality here at the cafe is sightly better. There is also a bar inside the cafe. read more

Change the menu. Service is slow, one line and if you get through it in 30 minutes, be thankful. Everyone there seems to think, you work for them... Best casual restaurant I've ever visited in a casino. Always feel welcome, have never had a bad meal here.

There was a hour wait before we were able to be seated, and this was at 9pm at night. One of the hostesses gave me the "I hate my job" vibes / demeanor. She definitely backed up her demeanor with a comment she said to a couple she was seating. She said OUT LOUD '" If THEY knew how to clean the table right they (couple) would have been seated there ( pointing to specific booth).'" Mind you, the hostess is Caucasian, as well as the couple. The employees bussing tables happened to be persons of color. My Bf and I are also persons of color. It came off a little racist. Either way, it was offensive and demeaning towards the other employees. I was offended!!! So unprofessional. All the other staff members were very kind attentive. They made up for the hostesses ugly attitude. read more

Stopped here on the way to Clear Lake. Walked around the smoky Cache Creek Casino looking for the lease offensive looking restaurant. Asian food in the middle of nowhere--no thanks. The guys decided upon Canyon Cafe, and I fatefully picked this: ***MEATBALL SANDWICH - Slow Cooked Meatballs on a Toasted Ciabatta Roll Topped with Marinara Sauce, Parmesan Cheese and Walnut Basil Pesto Sauce It sounds kinda good, right? There appeared to be no sauce whatsoever. No Marinara. No Pesto. The meatballs tasted almost like toothpaste. There was no way to keep the meatballs on the sandwich, and subsequently one of them fell onto my lap, and then I had to go to the bathroom and stand there like a tool wiping my crotch down. Thanks for that, Canyon Cafe! read more

Came to Cache Creek with my family for a little gamble then when it got late, this place was the only one that opened the latest. I ordered a smoke house BBQ burger. It was cooked perfectly. Wasn't too tried and you can taste all the flavors. It also came with french fries so that was a bonus. The service was very kind and fast which was amazing because it was 1AM. Stopped in here before leaving Cache Creek around midnight (4/8/12). Our group ordered a Coke ($2.25), and some cheese bread ($6.25). Supposedly there was garlic on it but it was mostly cheese. The crust was just a little too soft and not crunchy enough for my liking. It was served with marinara, which was just a cold reminder that they no longer sell their awesome, giant mozarella sticks. :( We also ordered spinach dip which was okay but could have used a little extra garlic, artichoke, and salt. It was very cheesy. It came with crispy pieces of soft bread that had a hint of garlic. They were decent enough but very thick and filling. ($7.95) A ham sandwich was well-liked ($8.95). We've ordered this before and it's always good (pictured). It came with fries which were skinny, crispy, and good. The apple crisp for dessert ($5.75) had soft pieces of a good, tart apple coated in sweet syrup. Ice cream on top and hot filling, some golden raisins, but not much crisp. A dish like this, served in a cup, should have enough pie shell to justify calling it crisp. it was the most disappointing. ($31.15 total for the meal) Our server Jo Annie did a great job. She was very friendly, personable, and the nicest staff person we'd yet encountered in the casino. read more

Food was not good. It was all clearly from a package. Nothing was fresh at all. I didn't even eat most of the food brought to me. The only thing that was good was the toast, but in all reality, who screws up toast? And the cheery on top was the service. I had to ask for a refill on the coffee. After the first time, she only came arou nd again to drop the check. Coffee is the one thing you should never have to ask to be refilled at a breakfast joint. Shame on you. I had a stack of $20 ready to feed into the machines but I was so turned off by this display at the casino, I left without playing any games.
