Been here twice Very busy on Tuesday nights , got the bacon burger one time and the grilled chicken sandwich the next time both were good we had option of lays chips or French fries.

The new "patio" style seating area is going to give longterm gamblers a place for mental revival. Calm yourself for a moment

The DELI, at Cache Creek Casino Resort makes my day when I'm low on fuel, and short of time for gambling. It has the fastest throughput, from a consistently short waiting line, to the first bite. This is another Cache Creek café with a clear view of the cooks. The food is cooked to order. Whether I intend to sit at the barstool- style counter, get a table for two, quick stop take-away so I can eat while playing slots, or even simply buying food to go for a meal during the drive home, I can find what I want on this menu.

I recall on my first visit (many years ago), they were selling olive oil and tastings only. Fast forward to present day, they have expanded to include wine tastings, and selling balsamic vinegars, wines, honey, beef jerky, and nuts. All local grown from Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation land. Very cool. They also sell kitchen and giftable items; and serve food made to order and also offering prepackaged to go. The staff are always so kind and helpful. The building and brewing facility is a beautiful architectural design. Even the outside landscaping and patio area are thoughtfully designed. The views are gorgeous overlooking the adjoining almond and olive orchards, and the Valley. The kind of scenery they put in sappy Hallmark movie backdrops. So darn lucky to live within driving distance. I have not tasted wine here before. But have tasted their olive oils and vinegars. Mmm. Actually we picked up some bottles since they had a sale and marked down some bottles from the prior year varieties. My favorite flavors of SH olive oil are Arbequina (classic EVOO) and Frantoio (this one has nutty, herby flavors with slight pepperiness). It's right off Route 16 and super close to the Cache Creek casino resort which is also a Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation venture. So if you happen to be at the casino, drive less than five minute to the tasting room. Plus if you need a rest stop for a restroom, Seka Hills tasting room has real nice ones.

The ambience was very peaceful and tranquil. You could browse and shop for many charcuterie accessories, dried fruits, nuts, olive oil, flavored basalmic vinegar, wine, etc. During our olive oil tasting session, we tried samples of... Taggiasca: This elegant oil has aromas of sweet almond followed by herbaceous notes of dried thyme and fresh herbs. Frantoio: The flavor of this oil is fragrant with almond and floral notes with grassy flavors. Some bitterness, this oil has a lasting pepperiness. Lovely as a dipping and finishing oil. Arbequina Olive Oil: The flavor is a fresh herbaceous aroma, this harmonious oil has pleasant pungency with a slight bitterness. Its balanced complexity results in a long, satisfying finish. Use in baking, marinades, sauteing, roasting, as a drizzling and dipping oil and any sauce calling for EVOO. Picual Olive: the flavor is Green tomato and olive aromas, this distinct and harmonious oil is followed by nuanced flavors of fresh herbs, green tea and black pepper. Use it to enhance salads, vegetables, fish and grilled chicken and meats and drizzle over grilled peaches and pineapple. Tribal Blend: the flavor is bright and herbaceous aroma with fresh green notes followed by nuanced layers of green almond, sweet almond, and ripe banana with a smooth, buttery mouthfeel. Road Trip Bar & Grill has a real, down to earth feel the second you walk in. Nothing forced, just a solid spot with character. The tribute area really stood out to me. You can tell it actually means something and wasn't just put up for looks. It adds a lot to the overall experience. The food is what brings you back. Everything tastes fresh, like it was made with care. And those jalapeños... I still think about them. Fresh, good heat, and they make everything better. It's one of those places you're glad you stopped at and end up wanting to come back to.

They told us to sit where ever we wanted, so we chose a booth, and France came over to take our drink orders. I got a 20oz Sierra Nevada Hazy $8, and my husband got a 36oz Racer 5 $11 We decided to get an order of homemade Lime Tortilla chips & Guacamole $12, which were good but it was a very small bowl of guac, so it was a challenge to try and make it last with all the chips. The Lime chips only had lime Juice squeezed over them, which made some soggy. For entrees I got the Biker Tator $10 which was HUGE!! It came with several chopped Breaded Chicken Tenders, & I chose American cheese not realizing it would basically be sliced cheese. My husband enjoyed his Spartan Burger & Fries $12 The women's bathroom was clean. France did a good job checking on us, & bringing us TOGO containers. Overall, the prices are pretty decent for the amount of beer & food you get, aside from the Guacamole. It's really too bad they don't have pool tables, or shuffleboard since they def have the room.

I really like the duck, though they don't serve a sauce with it. The bio Choy is another favorite of mine, but it's pretty bland here. The presentation was vibrant and smelled really good. The sandwich was presented as an open face presentation which I thought was unique. The role that is used as the bridge choice was already cut in half so I just had to fold grab a piece and eat. I chose the combination sandwich which I feel was a great choice. They have another one. That is the pork sandwich. I think the associates working here this particular day were very friendly and polite from when we paid at the beginning before being seated and to when our food was Brought to us at our table and even just with an update on if fresh coffee was ready. This location is connected to a casino so the noise is a little bit more loud than some places. But they do have probably about 5 to 6 televisions posted throughout Which is a nice attitude touch to catch up on some sports or news or weather with captions on televisions. Pretty decent spread out of tables and seating choices, which allows for location to seem bigger and not so close together. It is an open kitchen, so you are able to see the chefs cooking and preparing the meals. The sandwich that I had was $13 and the crispy pork ribs that we ordered also were $10. Very reasonable in pricing as we also used our comp dollars towards our meal, which is another great added perk that is allowed at any of the restaurants within the location. I usually like to try each restaurant per each visit, but I know I will be returning back here to enjoy another one of those sandwiches in the near future. Thanks, Asian kitchen for your hospitality.

Hog Canyon Cafe in Esparto, CA…read more A few months ago, on a lazy Spring Saturday I took a leisurely drive to the Capay Valley. Beautiful valley views, rolling hills. Wineries, olive tasting. And even a casino. Our drive took us on Route 16 that cuts through the small but mighty town of Esparso, CA. Population of about 3500. Hog Canyon Cafe sits right on Route 16 in the town. The cafe is small n cozy. Basic interior. Older building. I got to meet the owner, young man. As we spoke to him, I can tell he was passionate about cooking and the community. Luv that! The menu centers around burgers and pizza. They serve bbq smoked tri tip sandwiches. But aw shucks they sold out when we dropped in. Instead we ordered a cheeseburger and a hamburger. Mmmm. Those were mighty tasty. Substantial sized patties that were hand formed.Fat patties cooked so they are drippy, juicy. Classic. Messy but worth it. Topped with fresh fixings. We ordered at the counter and sat outside on the patio. Simple setup. Inside dining is cozy and limited. At the time we were there, the dining area was set up for a private birthday party. Kids pizza party! Aww. Local community gathering spot.
