After 2 years of being a customer, sadly enough I will not be returning to this restaurant. Never had any issues, always happy with my food. However, today, my order was incorrect. I got all the way home and called the restaurant and spoke to a Sophia. I explained to her what had occurred, and she said that they did not have anyone delivering food therefore, I got back into my vehicle, came back to the restaurant, and she charged me for an entirely new meal! I was completely appalled after telling several people for two years with no issues this is how I was treated with one mistake from your restaurant... This is absolutely the fastest way to lose a customer in 20 seconds, I will never return! read more

I heard this place was amazing before Covid. However, while the food was delicious the wait was a bit of a long wait in the evening for Dim Sum. If you ordered off the menu the wait wasn't too bad. Now if you want the best experience go in the afternoon for lunch. As I arrived and was seated the cart was already at my table offering their hot and steamy selections. The food was fresh and delicious. If the same level of service was offered in the evening, I would have have given this place 5 Stars. But either way if you want good food, come here. read more

I had a disappointing experience at Oriental Pearl last week so I decided to try this place out and Canton House just blows the other place away in terms of variety! I arrived at noon with a table for ten people on a Sunday, we couldn't be seated until everyone arrived, so we finally sat at about 1pm. As soon as we sat, the dim sum carts arrived! I had everything I had dreamed about! Except cha siu bao... Shrimp, pork, beef plus combinations of pork, shrimp and beef wrapped in sticky rice, rice rolls, fried, steamed and so on! This is legit dim sum! Unlike my experience at Oriental Pearl, there were a lot of sweet options too like sweet tofu, pudding, jello, sweet coconut cream bread, etc... We also ordered duck (regular menu, not offered as dim sum) and that was amazeballs!!!! Sweet, juicy, succulent duck meat! Ugh... left here stuffed and happy! Do not eat here. Very upset that after we ate, I saw the health score of 73. Their previous health score was a 42. I did some research on this restaurant and they have a history of unacceptable health scores because of issues such as roaches, flies, etc. The food itself wasn't good. Most things that were supposed to be served hot were pretty cold when they got to us. The shrimp dishes were disgusting - everything shrimp was mashed up, as opposed to whole shrimps, so I'm sure it was imitation shrimp. Never going back. Alright Dim Sum. To be honest, I can't find an amazing place for Dim Sum anymore, and Atlanta is the only place where I can find a decent place. And to be honest, this place was alright. I've definitely had better, but for Atlanta, it's not bad. I think my feelings about dim sum has been sidetracked with how it's supposed to be, and what constitutes actually "good dim sum." I mean, most of the places nowadays are just from frozen packing and just steamed. There's o more of the dim sum chefs here, but I could completely mistaken and there could be chefs in the back slaving away to make all the goodies they serve here. Overall, service is well... you know how it is at dim sum. If you want something you gotta yell. It's If you want to know what's on the cart, gotta ask them and don't feel horrible. In fact, if you interact with them I think they enjoy that more than them just going around in circles. We ordered several dishes. Pretty normal and wasn't so elaborate as far as what we ordered. The bill came out to be pretty standard for dim sum spots. To be honest, to me it wasn't anything special or memorable. I'm definitely biased though, so if you read this and you think I'm completely crazy... I've had a lot of dim sum in my life. I think it's just a cuisine that I just never really truly got into. But, I understand the work and amount of effort it takes to run one. I would say if you don't know what dim sum is, definitely check this place out. This is one of my favorite dim sum places on Buford. Just a ways up Buford Highway, for anyone who enjoys a good Chinese dim sum restaurant, you have to try this one. I recommend the soup dumplings, the sticky rice, and the chicken congee. The chicken congee is particularly good on a nice cool day. My girlfriend would also want me to plug the chicken feet. Our family favorite Chinese food restaurant around Atlanta since we moved here. To me it's one of the Buford Highway gems. Sizzling rice soup, gai-lan, crispy noodles with chicken, salt and pepper flavored anything: calamari, shrimp, pork chop, tofu (tofu is our favorite). It's. It's a dim sum restaurant and we get a few items from the passing carts (sesame balls, Shu Mai) but we prefer to order from the menu. There's so many good items. It's not the prettiest place, weekends frequently have big parties, sometimes a bit of a wait because they're busy but the owners are nice. This was my first dim sum experience. The place felt authentic. There was a wedding reception happening which only added to the experience. There were not many options and they seemed pretty standard. Again, this is my first experience so this may be the normal. All and all, it was a good experience. If this is some of the best dim sum Atlanta has, then Atlanta doea not have good dim sum. I was disappointed. The rice noodles (Cheong fun) texture were not good--the texture was hard and rigid. The char siew one was much better than the shrimp because they added a lot of char siew. The shrimp dishes fell short because the shrimp was not high quality. Went for the dim sum on a Sunday morning, and I was impressed with how busy they were- we got there when they opened at 10AM and after about 30 minutes almost all of their 50+ tables were occupied! I have never had a restaurant dim sum style experience prior to this, and I really enjoyed the prompt service with multiple carts of delicious foods coming by your table- it was similar to a buffet, but they bring the food to you and you are charged per item. Each dim sum plate is usually a small amount of food (ex- 4 dumplings or 2 tarts) so you can easily order a few items and share with friends. You can also choose to order larger items off of their menu. There were so many things to try between multiple types of dumplings, soups, buns, breads, and desserts! Very exciting for a foodie. I highly enjoyed the shrimp and scallop dumplings (a little sweet and garlicy with crunchy water chestnuts) as well as the pork dumplings (very savory, juicy, and satisfying. The egg tarts were also delicious (think egg custard with a crumbly crust that isn't overly sweet). The only cons were that the sticky rice bun was a bit dried out and that they had no dumplings that were vegetarian in the dim sum offerings the day we went (my vegetarian friend had to order off the menu). Check-out was convenient- you just bring your tab to the front before you go. Overall price per person was very reasonable. I will be back! read more

Pros: food was decent. We had a number of items, including shumai, zongzi, tripe soup, broccoli rabe, and sesame balls and mango pudding for dessert, among others. While nothing stood out as extraordinary, all of the dishes were well cooked and appetizing. Cons: service can be very spotty and we often had to flag down the staff so that we could actually get some food on our table. Our water was not refilled during our entire stay. At one point towards the end of our meal, a staff member came by and quickly grabbed one of the chairs from our table without asking, despite the fact that it was being used (the person in that seat was in the restroom). Our bill for a party of 3 came out to $51 before tips for a moderate amount of food. Expect to spend $15-25 per person depending on how much you order. The menu made it seem like it was spicy hot which was what I'd wanted but it came out to be less than regular spicy, the garlic eggplant you can feel the spice at end of the bite, I'd asked for some dry chili flakes to amp it up but that was a no go. It can be a little overwhelming for first-timers. There are no menus, really; each carts stops at your table and asks if you want anything and there are so many choices. Don't be afraid to ask specifically what each item is. Decent dim sum and always our "go-to" when visiting the Atlanta area, but only because we haven't found better yet. Most items are good (such as the shui mai and lo bak go), but others are just very average, (like the har gow and streamed pork buns). It's hit or miss whether items (that are better eaten hot/warm) will be room temperature and not so fresh. But overall, most items are good. Don't expect good service. Servers are unfriendly unless they know you. You definitely will get exceptional service if a server knows and recognizes you; otherwise, expect very slow and inattentive service. However, when you're really in the mood for dim sum, it's tolerable.
