I will rave about this carbonara forever - it was to die for. I am an avid carbonara lover, order it at almost every Italian restaurant I have been to and this is by far a top 3 entree for me. It was so creamy and the pancetta was so crispy. I also got a dirty martini that I enjoyed. My only complaint is we had a 7:30pm reservation and we did not get seated until almost 8.

yes the frozen espresso martini is 100% worth the hype. also the straw is edible holy crap. complimentary bread too #ThankGod truffle gnocchi was good and you can rlly taste the truffle but i didn't like the way the cheese was torched on top it was kinda hard. dont get the ricotta cheesecake it wasn't good. service was good. very small restaurant make sure to make a reservation.

I went to Canto for dinner on a Friday night. I would recommend making a reservation since the place is packed. I was actually impressed by how much seating they managed to fit into the space. They really optimized every inch. I tried their famous frozen espresso martini and loved it. It's almost like a tiramisu martini because they top it with mascarpone. They have a good happy hour deal, but unfortunately we weren't able to make it in time for it. For dinner, we ordered an arancini, carbonara, and a risotto from their specials. They drop off complimentary warm bread with a red sauce for dipping. Next time I'll probably skip ordering an appetizer since the bread is so good. The pastas aren't the best in the city, but they were solid. Overall, I had a fun time. Loved the frozen espresso martini. Would go again.

Such a cute classy spot and I'm so glad to have experienced it. First off, anyone going needs to get a frozen espresso martini. Those things are dangerous but so good. I was gagged at the edible straw as well! I got two and could've gotten so many more. The restaurant itself is packed shoulder to shoulder with seating but that just made the meal feel a lot more intimate. I got the seafood pappardelle and it was so good. The noodles were so soft and chewy which is how I like them and the sauce was so flavorful. Definitely a spot I will be returning to in the future.

The food and drinks were great! Frozen espresso martini is popular for a reason, so good. Also loved my pasta, big portions and good amounts of sauce/cheese which I loved. The space is nicely decorated though a bit small. Was a bit busy so kinda felt like the servers forgot about us a bit unless we waved them down!

Bucatini Alla Carbonara & Chicken Sandwich

Sunday brunch offered an array of options. The pasta was rich, creamy and flavorful. The sandwich was massive and very fresh. Best of all the eggs were all cooked perfectly! The space itself, and seating was tight, close quarters, but the restaurant was very tidy and tastefully decorated.

Go for the drinks especially the frozen espresso martini at HH - $12 bucks! They are pretty damn good. In fact, the happy hour drinks are all priced well. Also, well fleet oysters were $1.50 - so load up. We split two pastas- bolognese and linguine with clams. Both were ok. Nothing to rave about, but decent. The place is cozy and perfect for a date. Will go back for the vibes and a drink.

Had an amazing dinner at Canto last weekend! Made the reservation 4 days in advance, even was running late from work and they still held our table! We sat in a little counter in the front window and had a great time in our cozy nook, people watching and enjoying the privacy! The food was amazing, I LOVE arancini and this did not disappoint. The servers offered amazing recommendations as well! recommend this place for a fun fancy date night!

Love the frozen espresso martinis it's like a dessert. Had to wait awhile for a table but we were able to put our name in & come back later. Pasta was good. If you're going for 2 people to this location you might get put at the bar seats

Came here for happy hour and I'm happy I did! We specifically came for their famous frozen espresso martinis & I see why they're famous. They're like dessert in a glass but make it grown and glamorous. The frozen espresso martini was smooth, sweet, and perfectly chilled. A creamy coffee cloud with just enough kick to wake your soul. I could've had a third :) Canto is such a vibe, it's small but local and cozy

My daughter saw this spot on TikTok and brought me here for Mother's Day brunch and it was well worth the hype! It's such a cute spot to go with your girlfriends. The frozen espresso martini is delish and addicting, you think you're having an ice cream; the steak and eggs; and the burger and fries...which were all so good!!! Can't wait to go ahead.

Amazing spot in the West Village! Fabulous food, great atmosphere and ambiance. Staff was friendly and attentive and our server Nut pulled it all together for a wonderful overall experience based on her recommendations. Highly recommend.

Rigatoni e Gamberi vodka sauce and tortellini di carne which

I came here late one evening with my friend and we were seated at the back bar facing the wall. The restaurant interior is cute but it was hard for us to see it. Other groups were sat around the bar and kind of in the bar/kitchen area which was interesting. It seems like a lot of people come here for birthdays as they'll play in da club and bring out a sparkler for the celebration. It took about 15 mins for someone to come to us to actually get our orders placed but once we placed them, the bread and wine came out pretty quickly! My friend and I shared the meatballs (8/10 - on the smaller side but good) which was a good addition with the free bread and I ordered the rigatoni e gamberi which was really good and the pasta was Al dente but definitely light on the sauce! My friend ordered the tortellini di carne which I tried but I liked mine better. I want to come back to try the frozen espresso martinis but I wasn't trying to drink that at 9PM! Overall it wasn't too expensive and the food was good but don't expect service to be the best/fastest!

Wow East Village! You have yourself a gem with Rake Wine Bar! We were waiting for our dinner…read morereservations and decided to stop in here for a pre-dinner drink and bite. I am SO glad we did. The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! I love how friendly the staff was here and how unpretentious it all was. Next time we are in NYC- we will definitely make a point to come visit Rake!

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

I started with the chilled celtuce with kombu jelly (the celtuce stem was sliced into bamboo shoot-sized strips, as was the kombu jelly) with toasted shallots in a red vinegar sauce. It stole the show. I've never had celtuce, loved it paired with the jelly, the texture and flavor were both amazing. It was the most interesting and prettiest dish I've had in a long time. For my entree, I had the bobo chicken, which is a poached chicken with a hint of spice and a nice broth. I ordered a side of rice to soak up the broth; the rice had something starchy tucked in it (maybe taro)? I liked it. There were slices of raw celtuce stems (I think, similar to celery) on top that offered some nice texture to the dish. Wine: I tried a merlot by the glass from Xiaopu winery in China. I thought it had nice body and flavor. I'm no expert but for the first western style wine I've tried from China, it was very good. The service was excellent. They are great with wine advice, which I noticed as my server helped an adjacent table select a bottle. I am excited to come back to try more dishes. Great date place. Bad group place. Four or less.

Walked in at 8pm on a Wednesday and was able to sit right away for a limited time (1.5hrs), which was plenty for us. It's small, as most places in NYC are, and dark & intimate. They also have shared tables, so we sat with another couple. Huge wine selection. Everything we ate was delicious. To me, the Celtuce is more of a novelty - cool, yummy, fresh but small. The crudo was the same thing. So in my opinion, I don't think it's worth the money. The noodles were so good we got 2 orders of it - you cannot skip!! The dessert was also unlike anything I've had before. If you love sticky rice and caramel/toffee, you have to try it. Overall, I do think it was very expensive but the ambiance + some of the dishes were well worth it. I'd definitely come back.

Starting with the positives -the banchan was solid across the board and really flavorful. That said, charging for banchan feels strange to me. Traditionally, it's complimentary, like bread at an Italian restaurant so that part didn't sit right but it was flavorful. The chigae was interesting and probably the standout dish. It had a unique flavor that reminded me of a mix between soondubu and dwenjang chigae which worked well. Unfortunately, the rest was a miss. The bossam was overly salty and didn't feel true to the dish. The tteokbokki was another disappointment -it came with cheese (which wasn't expected) and just fell flat overall. For the hype, I expected much more especially because I've eaten Korean food my whole life. The venue is small and the seats in the back are uncomfortable.
