She was sharp, super informative, took her time and provided great insight. Also witty and fun to watch her share her knowledge. I bought a Leer canopy for my Toyota Tacoma Pickup five years ago from the Des Moines Canopy World. They installed it quickly and did a very professional job. No complaints. Then about six months ago, the brake light in the canopy stopped working and so did one of the locks. I had my regular mechanic look at it and I got a quote for fixing the problems that seemed very high. I then took the truck back to the Des Moines Canopy World. I didn't have an appointment and expected that I'd have to leave my vehicle with them overnight or for a few days. Instead, they told me they'd get right to it after finishing up one other vehicle. They spent a bit of time troubleshooting the electrical problem and then fixed it while I waited. When I asked for the bill, they said "No Charge." Wow! That never happens these days. I highly recommend these guys. Nice folks. Quality work. And they back up what they sell, even five years after the fact! read more

I went in to get some new door seals for my Leer canopy. They looked at the canopy and ordered the seals. I picked up the seals and found that the lower door seal was different from the flat seal that came originally on the canopy. In trying to install the new seal I found that it wouldn't work as a seal on my canopy. I went back and tried to return the seal, and Canopy World refused. They picked the seal and ordered it, and when it wouldn't work they refused to take it back. They don't stand behind what they sell. I've purchased several canopies from them, but no more. This place took me I got a used ladder rack for more then a new one , do your research before you buy and then when I got home I had to shorten ( which I knew I was going to have to do ) and adjust, the installer put it on crooked but I guess not that big of a deal the lady at the front desk however was super accommodating and friendly. read more

Excellent service!!!! I called shortly before Christmas to order a canopy for my truck. I didn't realize the 2-4 week timeline. So when I told them that I had a trip planned and really needed it by New Years, they said 'no problem' and offered to put a loaner canopy on the truck. I had a similar experience to others on here. Staff was very supportive and more than willing to fix their work free of charge. The problem was on my 19 tacoma with a bak x4 revolver they were never able to properly fit the cover. It meshed poorly with the rails and sat almost an inch high at my tailgate. Again, great customer service in my experience, but the installation for a $1000 cover should be quality work. For their service and support they I can justify a two star review, but the failure to ever really fix the issues with the cover was quite disappointing. read more

I went with them for the high reviews. Ordered a new canopy for my 2020 Tacoma. Everything was fine until the install. The canopy leaked during the first rain of the season. Returned and they "adjusted it". Still leaks. Went back a second time (after the install, 3rd time so far..I think) which is a one hour drive for me. This time they stated that the front window was installed incorrectly which accounted for the leaking up there. However they then went on to blame Toyota as the reason for the poor fit of the canopy. If that was the case why not mention it initially? After the window came in I returned yet again and had it installed. It still leaks, its missing two screws, and I have to pry it to open it and practically bend it to close it (fold down sliding glass). I foubnd the screws and tried to put them back in but the holes were not against any part of actual canopy. Thus nothing to screw into. When I called to mention this I was told that they "don't know how it could be installed incorrectly" and that "they needed someone who knows what they are doing to look at it. Insinuating that I didn't know what I had literally just experienced with it. Now, I had the exact same setup 10 years earlier. 2010 Tacoma, 2010 Snugtop Canopy. One visit to Canopy world in Tacoma and done. Never a leak or a problem in 10 years of use. Essentially each visit has resulted in the need for another visit. I gave them multiple chances but when they blame their inability to install a truck canopy correctly on the truck manufacturer thats a bad sign. If it is a real problem then why wouldn't you mention it from the beginning? In any case. I am done with them. I hope Canopy world in Tacoma can fix this. read more

Great job on the Canopy over all, they messed up my order to start and ordered the wrong canopy's. Fine they corrected the mistake, lets wait another 3 weeks. Blew my company truck presentation plans. It took a total of 6 weeks to get them, then they put on the yakima racks improperly. I wanted them spread apart more but they put them tight together. Could not correct that. So overall a poor performance. read more

Note on the disclaimer that you sign that "damage may occur". Well, I can tell you that damage WILL occur. Drive you nice new truck in for a canopy and drive out with mangled bed rails. You won't notice it until you take your canopy off, but the clamps they use will twist and chew up the rails. Speaking as an engineer, this is an easily avoidable problem, but the company has no interest in protecting your investment. The canopy itself has been fine, but cutting corners on installation shows how much they really care. read more

Do not go to these guys. Absolutely slack and terrible work. My cap has been leaking since I bought it at this location. I went in to have it fixed and they told me it wasn't leaking from the areas I knew that it was. I asked for a reseal and I watched when they replaced the cap and they had to push it forward manually after placement, which rolled the sealing tape in the front of the cap out of position, it was worse than before I had it resealed. The reseal didn't resolve the leakage ( which they should have identified and addressed prior to the reseal, which I anticipated, since they couldn't identify where it was leaking from, from the start. They told me nothing could be done to fix the problem. I pointed out what I thought might be some potential remedies. I was told that a really easy fix (adding a rubber strip) was too difficult to do. They wanted to charge me to reattach the break light wires on the cap ( I found out it is illegal to not have the break lights functional. I went another canopy installer and he fixed one of the issues for free in 5 minutes ( the one that canopy world's employee told me was too difficult to fix) and told me all of the problems and how to resolve them. Canopy World, Des Moines is one of the worst business experiences I think I have ever had. To boot, one of the employees joked that the other one employee, who just drove off with my wheels, wasn't employed there, he thought that was hilarious. Totally juvenile and completely unprofessional.... I want my funds returned. Avoid this place like the plague. I'd give 0 stars if possible! read more
