Today was a Good Day! My husband is working on his Harley and needed his Customized Crash Bar Bracket cut so we went to Torklift Central to see if they could accommodate our needs. My husband is so happy with the Service that was provided! The Customer Service was Above and Beyond Awesome. They were able to answer all questions asked without hesitation. We were able to leave the Bracket there to be cut and we were told it would take about 30 minutes so we were able to go to another store and pick a few things up. We started our trip to San Antonio yesterday morning and we are towing a U-Hual Auto Transport trailer and my new Chevy pickup was sagging at the rear and I felt it was unsafe just 60 miles in our trip and needed help. we stopped at a well known RV sales and repair shop and ask for help and they recommended Torklift Central and they gave me their number as well and that told me this had to be the place to go. I called and spoke with Keegan on the phone and explained my situation and he said he could get me in early the next morning and gave the price and we were set. We came in the next morning and the people at the shop treated us like we belonged there. Keegan explained to me what he had planned asked me what I thought and for my concerns and I set him free to get the work done. Tried to install their stableload upper suspension blocks on a new gmc 3500. Was surprised after finding out the do not fit without modification! Did not have this problem with my 2015 Ford 350. Thus had to pay them to complete the install. They have good products but cost is high. 2 1/2 time what I paid in 2015. Not too happy about being forced into a 30000lb hitch as well when my truck can only pull 20000. Update- I do appreciate them swapping out the stableload part. I do suggest they update the website note to be more clear. The current website page shows as attached and the box I got did state it would fit my 2024 3500 I am bumping up the rating based on the service I received. I do recommend these to anyone carrying a camper. I have owned 6 campers (11 1/2') and these stableloads eliminate the need, and do a far superior job stabilizing the load as compared to airbags. I would only use airbags to level the truck if you are having any sag. read more

If you need a specialist for anything related to towing - hitches, racks, trailers - these are the guys you want to visit. They live, breathe, and eat this stuff every day. Torklift has their own line of custom hitches and they have options for vehicles that a lot of the major hitch manufacturers aren't interested in, or just haven't gotten to yet. They had one for my wife's CR-V hybrid touring - neither Curt or Draw-Tite had a model that fit this trim line. They sell across the country and have a network of authorized dealers/installers. This location is their home base/headquarters. We use the hitch for a garbage can attachment. We live down a gravel road and have to bring the cans out to the main road. It's a really simple use of a hitch, but it's such a nice perk to be able to haul the cans with the car in the winter. For our new CR-V's hitch installation, I was in at 8:30a and out by about 11:30a, about a week after I put in my initial order. While I was in the waiting room, I understood the true scope of work these guys take on by listening to the staff talk to customers - from re-decking trailers to fixing damage or other towing problems. This isn't the U-Haul around the corner installing hitches in between selling boxes and renting moving trucks. If you live in the area, I'd highly recommend going to them for your towing needs. read more

I called the Kent office and described to the person on the phone what is happening with my boat trailer when I reverse up an incline.   The brakes on trailer would engage and I wouldn't be able to reverse without using the manual release.  She immediately said that I needed a brake controller installed and that would fix the problem.  So I made my appointment and got it installed.   Everything seemed to be OK, until later that night after I was returning home from work.   My check engine light came on,  VSC off light was on,  Traction control light was on and my Snow and downhill assist buttons were not working.  My cars shifting was horrible.   I took it back to them the next morning,  they did have a dirty loaner car that they lent to me while they looked at what was causing the issue.  All they did was double checked the wiring that they installed and cleared the code.  Test drove it and said it was all fixed.  I picked up my car the next day and brought it home.   No issue until the next morning while hauling my boat.   All the same lights came on and the same issues.   Luckily we made it to the boat ramp ok and was able to make it to the kent Torklift store to have them take another look.  When we got there with the boat trailer they determined that I didn't need the brake controller installed.  That was not going to fix my issue.  Duh!  Anyways, I was told by the manager that they don't understand why it's happening and I would need to take it Toyota and have them troubleshoot it.  Which she did say,  if they determine that it's due to their installation that they would reimburse me for the bill at Toyota.  They did mention that the fix for the trailer brakes engaging was connecting the reverse wire to the plug which should have been the original fix.  So I told her I don't want the brake controller,  so they removed the unit from the car and said that they could credit me the difference from the work to install the reverse to the trailer adapter.  I took my highlander to Toyota remove the wire installation of the brake controller that was installed by Torklift. They removed the wires and taped it up. They cleared the codes, and it removed the check engine, VSC and traction control light, but it did not fix the Snow and downhill assist buttons. My main concern was the Check engine and the other lights, I am going to have to Toyota further troubleshoot those two buttons. I went back to Torklift for a full refund and reimbursement from taking it Toyota. After a lengthy discussion why I should be completely refunded, they agreed to that. However, they are holding off giving me a reimbursement because they don't understand why the brake controller caused the issue in the first place. Even though we both know that I never had those issues prior to the installation. There really should be no debate or reason why they shouldn't reimburse me because they could have saved themselves money by properly troubleshooting the issue by removing everything and clearing out the codes. Unfortunately, they were over confident that the installation would not cause these issues. read more

The folks at Torklift in Kent are phenomenal! They installed a custom bumper and hitch on my trailer so that I could put a bike rack on the back of the trailer. Most trailer bumpers are too flimsy to handle a bike rack and I have read horror stories about bike racks ripping off of a trailer bumper destroying the owners expensive bikes! In my case I was a bit more concerned as we own e-bikes which are fairly heavy not to mention spendy! The folks at Torklift created a custom bumper for my trailer out of high quality steel and even mounted the hitch receiver on the top side of the bumper to provide more ground clearance for the bike rack! On two separate occasions, they went out of their way to help me out with adapting my hitch, troubleshooting my wiring to my R-Pod so the lights could work, adapting my front jack to secure a footing extension, and installing a brake control system to my Ridgeline. I have brought two vehicle to them for tow bar installations. The first one went well. The last vehicle was a 2020 Jeep Wrangler JL . They installed their recommended Blue Ox Tow Bar and an Air Force One braking system. After explaining what I had to Nick he seemed very knowledgeable and accommodating. In the end and after paying $4,700.00 for the complete Tow Bar and Braking system it doesn't work on my motor home. This could be partially my fault as they didn't see my 2019 Newmar Coach but I did explain what I had and what I wanted. Anyway I called back and he now told me I needed the Coach side of the Air Force one system. another $440 plus installation. Over $5,000 invested and I get to bring the motor home somewhere else and pay to have the other parts installed. They never even offered to do that? I guess what I'm saying is that they could have asked a couple of questions and I would have either been prepared or went in a different direction as far as systems. Too late now but for those who are having the Air Force one braking system put on their coach at Torqlift Central, even if your Coach has an air outlet at the trailer hitch receiver that says "tow brake" ask if it will work with what they recommend, if not prepare for another $700 or so with the labor to install the Coach side. You could spend $5,500??? I did. ;-( read more

No follow up from them at all! I finally called them and they said there was a problem with the order but they would not say what the problem was? Needed a hitch for my VW Golf and decided the EcoHitch would be a good, American made option as I was willing to pay a bit more for quality and service. Got a quote, called their Kent office to schedule an installation and was told they would have a service advisor get back to me. Didn't happen. Called again to see if they could accommodate me given the busy time of year. I was put on hold twice and hung up after waiting for exactly 6 minutes the second time. Nobody ever called back or emailed; not what I was expecting for hundreds more than competing products, but such is the state (apparently) of the modern American business. Long story short, I ended up ordering a Draw-Tite hitch and installing it myself. Saved about $500 and didn't get any runaround. I recommend you do the same if you're looking for a passenger vehicle setup. read more

Customer support staff is amazingly knowledgeable about their products (and products in development), their procedures and of course the hitch for your vehicle. The latest challenge was a custom hitch for an electric vehicle. No one in the country had a hitch for the Kia Niro EV, and they had made a custom hitch for the 2021 model year. Booked an appointment for a trial fit of the hitch on my 2019 Niro with all the proper caveats if it didn't fit. One hour after drop off they called and said "it's done." I've probably driven by Torklift 100's of times and never thought to actually stop by to have work done on my truck (my mistake). During the snow storm my winch gave out and I reached out to Torklift to see if they could assist me. I stopped by on my day off and Drew (or Dru?) assisted me in the parking lot. It took him about 7 mins to diagnosis what had happened and he gave me instructions on how I could follow up with the manufacturer to get it covered under warranty. He thanked me for stopping by and I asked "how much do I owe you?" He said no charge and that if I ever needed work done on my truck to just consider them. How stinking awesome is that? I knew at that point these guys are here to do the right thing. I got my new power box and brought it by several days later and they completed the work earlier than scheduled.
