This is one of the restaurants in the lobby of the Hilton Austin, where I recently stayed for a work conference. It's a nice restaurant with some cool decor (I loved the deer wallpaper on the booths). I ate here for breakfast one morning and found it to just be OK. You can either order off the menu or do the buffet. The options on the menu were kind of weird - I had trouble just finding a basic breakfast dish that I really wanted. So I chose the $22 buffet. I had a made-to-order omelet that was a bit underwhelming to be honest, some fruit and a little pastry, plus coffee. My waiter had pity on me and charged me for the continental buffet (which I didn't even see listed) since I didn't really eat very much. That was something more like $16. In all, I'd say the breakfast was OK but certainly not much I'd write home about. I stopped in again one evening with two friends for a drink, and again I found it confusing. The hostess didn't really give us much direction. She kind of said, you can sit over here, or over there, or over there. Then the people behind the counter actually gave us menus but only gave us two, despite the fact that there were three of us and we were the only ones sitting there. And then the service was disjointed. It was really average. I also was a bit perturbed when we asked if we could take our drinks down to the taco restaurant that is also in the hotel (we found out some of our friends were there) and were told very bluntly that we could not. If you are staying in this hotel, I might recommend the taco bar or something nearby as a better and probably cheaper option. read more

Breakfast Review: ate here on a Thursday morning before leaving for the airport. It's located in the lobby of the Austin Hilton. Just a few other people there do not busy at all. They offer a buffet or a menu. I had the omelette and you can choose up to three items to have in it. Comes with a large side of potatoes and choice of toast. It's an open kitchen so you can see and smell everything being made. The bacon had a real nice deep Smokey flavor to it . read more

In town for a conference and staying at the Hilton...needed a place to do my fantasy draft and Cannon and Belle was perfect. Secured a corner spot on the bar, grabbed a margarita and hung out for 2 hours. I got the brisket Mac and cheese and the cornbread to go and both were awesome! The pizzas looked good too. They have a bourbon bar which seemed to be pretty popular as well! read more

Stayed at the Hilton Austin for work and ate dinner here late one night with coworkers. The food was very good. My #1 item was the roasted bone marrow - potentially the best I've ever had, but needed more bread. I will 100% be getting it again next time I'm in town. The chefs board had so many different options on it and delicious. My NY Strip was cooked perfectly medium rare, but the seasonal veggies (squash and zucchini) and the mashed potatoes were lack luster. A few of us tried cocktails and no one was a big fan of them, so I'd steer clear of those and go with wine instead! Service was also just okay, but again it was late and we were one of the only tables in the back so that could've contributed to it. read more

Staff was looking tired and their face showed it. Food was good. Ordered the burger and a club sandwich. As soon as I checked in yelp offers free appetizer. Asked waitress and she came back manager said that expired. Service was very slow i believe they are understaffed. Had breakfast next morning. Everything was good staff still looked tired and unhappy. read more

Leanne our bartender TOTALLY made our experience here. The five stars are for her. We had others wait on us throughout our stay at the Hilton and she was the best. So welcoming, so knowledgeable and totally on top of her stuff. We went to Cannon and Belle our first day after a long morning of traveling and she welcomed us with a smile and list of places in Austin to check out. She was genuinely interested in getting to know us and wanted to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. They have great cocktails. The food was good. The smoked corn chowder was awesome and the BBQ pizza was delicious. This was a easy place to grab a drink and catch up without having to venture out of the hotel when we didn't feel like going very far. The staff was friendly (Leanne was definitely our fav). I would highly recommend coming here to those staying at the hilton and to those looking for a drink downtown. read more

"Hark, the cannons roar!" Very good breakfast. They have a buffet option or a la carte. I was pressed for time but went with a la carte, the Austin breakfast I think.... two eggs, thick bacon, potatoe wedges with veges, and gluten free toast. All very well cooked, and their GF bread surprised me. It was like a dark wheat. It might be pricey, but it's also way tasty. read more

5 stars for an excellent staff! Genuinely friendly and focused on great service. We went here not once but twice while we stayed at the Hilton in Austin. For dinner, I highly recommend their handmade pizza (we tried pepperoni) and their salmon entree. Scrumptious! We tried a few of their desserts and I'd rate them in the following order - chocolate cake (decadent!!!) , bourbon bread pudding (served with ice cream!) and their cheese cake (served with fresh peach slices). Great ambiance and a lovely bar as well. I didn't try any alcoholic beverages but they make a mean virgin mojito! read more

Staying here at the Hilton Austin Cannon + Belle is definitely very convenient for dinner or lunch when traveling to Austin. The food was very good but somewhat pricey. The service was warm and friendly. The ambiance was warm and boisterous. Probably not the best place for a quiet intimate dinner. Enjoy! read more

Stopped here for brunch our first day in Austin. It's inside the Hilton Hotel downtown. They offer a brunch buffet, but after walking by it (nothing special) we decided to order off the menu. I ordered the Crab Cake Benny. It was okay, but nothing to write home about. The service was a bit lacking as well. They weren't busy, but it was very slow. She even filled our coffee cups with room termp coffee and we had to ask for fresh. We then waited 10-15 minutes to get our check. For me it was "meh". For the price and location we just expected better. read more

A nice little lounge in the hotel. Food was good. The cocktails they make are excellent

I don't usually gravitate to hotel restaurants. I didn't realize this was one until we pulled up, but we walked in & it was beautiful, open & light-filled even on this rainy morning. I usually write my review while I eat... Angelina's chicken dish was so good I didn't stop to write... Tangy tomato sauce & smoked gouda "crusted". My family all got Chicken & Biscuits; it was fantastic! Fried chicken was very flavorful & crispy. We ALL cleaned our plates. I only gave it 4 stars because of the plates & coffee cups. They are supposed to look like marble.. White with black smudges all over them. I couldn't stop thinking the dishes were dirty, especially the cup... It was distracting... But won't keep me from coming back to try more of the food! (OH! And you can make reservations ON YOUR WAY there so the wait is shorter or non-existent). ;) read more

Made reservations and came for the NYE party prix fixe menu of a 4oz lobster tail and a 4oz filet for $69. Received a 4oz filet and two shrimp.. Had to ask for the manager to adjust the price as their 8oz filet was only $56.. He knocked $30 off..Service was good. Kitchen slowwww. Won't be back read more

We stayed at the Hilton Austin (where C+B is located) and needed a quick bite to eat without having to venture out of the hotel. Again, since we were striving for a short meal, there's not much to expand on other than saying the food we tried was good! The service was only a tad slow since the bartender was doing both waiting tables and making drinks. I had the corn-meal crusted salmon, which was pretty good, but wasn't crazy about the tomato/bean salad combo. My friend enjoyed Angelia's roasted chicken and the gouda risotto was superb. read more

I get that Cannon + Belle is the premiere restaurant in the Austin Hilton. I get that they have to have an Austin weird gimmick, and part of that is being avant-garde with their menu categories and plate descriptions. However, when customers ask for a plain English clarification, it's really not time to show your ingratitude for their business by providing rude answers. After all, I can make any number of foodstuffs from "Flour + Yeast + Water", not just pizza. Finally, deliberately limiting answers to one per table visit merely prolongs the agony of "Check, please". Classy place. Drinks and done. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Cannon + Belle. Can't wait to see what new Hilton concept replaces you. read more

This place is hands. down. incredible. I was recently invited to sample their spring menu and I am not hyperbole-ing when I say every single forkful was better than the next. The theme is upscale Texan cuisine and they nailed it. We started with cornbread and bacon butter (!!) and braised short rib (zomg) followed by the pork chop for myself and the ribeye for my dining partner. It was truly incredible and the icing on the cake was the service. Our server was attentive and made excellent suggestions, even pulling over the bartender to show us how their Fall Old Fashioned was made--they light the thing on fire which makes it smoky and delicious. Or maybe the icing on the cake was the cake itself? They brought it out to slice it and it was bigger than my head, with a generous slice as a dessert portion. With the closing of my beloved Vox Table, I needed a new date night restaurant. And I've found one. Definitely give Cannon and Belle a try if you're in the Austin area! read more

We really appreciate that this place was available in the last minute when everywhere else open for Christmas Eve was fully booked. We ordered assorted cheese, chicken wings, Caesar salad, hummus, margarita pizza, goat cheese pizza. We also ordered some liquor including Cuban, Prosecco, Pinot noir, etc. All their food items we ordered were shareable, great for a group of five. The food quality is not the top tier, but the place is great for just getting together and enjoying each others company (3 star). read more

Stopped by what looked to be a classier hotel bar/restaurant in hopes for a couple drinks and some good food. Sat at the bar and the bartender (1 of 3) quickly approached and took my order. That's where the quality came to a screeching halt. Waited at least ten minutes before I had to ask one of the very underworked bartenders for a menu myself. After given the menu and being ignored for another 10 minutes I decided to call it quits. Very poor service and wouldn't recommend for anyone. Too many other options nearby. read more

I definitely recommend this place to all folks in the area. Whether you're staying at the Hilton or just passing through, I promise you will not be disappointed. The staff was so friendly and offered amazing service. I really admired the decor of the restaurant as well. Far from ordinary and I loved that. The food had such unusually magnificent flavors. I'm getting sick of writing this about every restaurant in Austin: they care about the drinks. Although what's surprising is Cannon + Belle is a hotel restaurant--you simply don't expect this type of detail. In fact, they have an award-winning mixologist on staff for you adventurous types. Not to say that everyone else on staff isn't great--we seriously love everyone behind the bar. They're a lovely bunch and are always ready to help. Most of the food at Cannon + Belle is good. Some of my favorites include the burger (even better on Sunday, i.e. brunch burger), scallops, chicken, pizza (don't expect a NY pizza but it's crisp, slightly sweet, and chewy), and the caesar salad. Items I don't recommend include the hummus dip which is under-seasoned (although the grilled pita that comes with it is ADDICTING), the chef's salad (I think that's the name. It tastes like lunch meat with salad.), and dessert. Yes, shocking I know. While the portions are generous and the taste is there, the dessert is often dry--which becomes a problem for the massive chocolate serving they have. I love Cannon + Belle. If you happen to stay at the Hilton and you're lazy, like me, know that you've got a great restaurant right downstairs. Come for the food, stay for the bartenders. read more

Sort of standard hotel restaurant, designed to be ultra-trendy and hip, in the style Austin is quickly becoming saturated with. I've been coming to this hotel for five years, and had never really noticed the former establishment in this space, so I guess in that sense it's an upgrade. The decor is nice, but looks like an architectural rendering, like everything else in downtown. The lunch/dinner menu looked great, and maybe it was just what I ordered, but I was pretty underwhelmed. I had the Austin hot chicken salad, and the chicken was dry, the breading wasn't really spicy (or flavorful at all), and the slaw was dry. It was certainly edible, but I had been hoping for something more tasty. My lunch partner had the fried green tomato sandwich, but had to send it back after it came out with nuts and seeds on the crust (she's allergic to nuts, and the menu didn't indicate that the sandwich had nuts in it). All-in-all, probably fine if you're staying in the hotel and can't leave for some reason. Otherwise, there's plenty of excellent eating within a few blocks. read more

I absolutely loved the food here ! of course the restaurant is inside the Hilton hotel , and just FYI you'll have to pay for parking every day that you're here , which is about twenty five to forty dollars . when we got to the restaurant I believe it opens at five o'clock to ten o'clock or eleven , and everybody was really nice . because of Covid you must have your mask when you arrive , however when you sit down you can take your mask off . we got to sit actually anywhere around the vicinity of the restaurant , so we sat further away from The inside seating and sat a little bit across from the restaurant. The waitress was really attentive, she informed us of different things on the menu, please see my pictures of the menu. I really enjoyed the tomato soup, this is not your regular Campbell's tomato soup, it was so creamy I love the croutons that was added, it was definitely very savory and sweet. I also enjoyed the apple cider wings, they were cooked to perfection, the meat was falling off the bone. I also enjoyed that they had hot tea and gave you a little bit of honey with it, and the honey is like a new jar That you can take home. Overall I would deathly come back here to try some more food, they also do to go and they will deliver to your room if you stay in the hotel. read more

This place was a life saver! My family and I were displaced due to snow storm knocking out our homes power, we were forced downtown for an overnight stay. This seemed to be the only location open to get a meal, and although they were under staffed and overwhelmed by patrons they handled the rush like champs and still provided a quality meal!! I had the C&B Burger and wasn't disappointed, flavorful, juicy and cooked to perfection. I'll be back under a less stressful situation to text other items on the menu. read more

Cannon & Belle is the restaurant inside the Hilton Austin and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. When one thinks of hotel restaurants, one doesn't exactly think gourmet meals. It's something that's close and available if you're super tired or just want a quick bite to eat. That's why I was super surprised when my take out sandwich (I had just arrived after traveling since 6am) was really good. I had the turkey BLT and it was huge! The size of the sandwich alone was worth the price that I paid. The sandwich was really good and came with a side of salad, which was a welcome addition. The hostess was super friendly and even offered me a comp soda while I was waiting for my order. My boss had a revolving door of meetings at the Cannon & Belle and had nothing but good things to say about her experience. I highly recommend it! read more

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WAISTE $24 FOR BAD BREAKFAST, GO OUTSIDE OF HOTEL. Everything is way below mediocre: food and service. There aren't even some basic breakfast options. We had date night this past weekend at Cannon + Belle and lucked out on it also being Austin Restaurant Weeks. The food was fantastic! We got the crab cake, scallops, pork chop and had the cream cheese brownie for dessert - there wasn't a flaw in any of the dishes. The crab cake was loaded with lump crabmeat and if there was a filler we couldn't tell - one of the best we've had in Austin. Scallops were perfectly cooked and same with the pork chop which came with the most amazing cherry mostarda! Some bonuses were that it was Friday we got half off our bottle of wine plus they validate parking (and we all know how rough parking can be in town). We left extremely happy and will for sure come again! read more

4.5 if I could. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 is that I think the dinner portions need to be bigger at this price point. You might have to order more to get full. The food itself is really, really, really good. And not just that, it's original and thoughtful. I'm staying at the hotel for a conference so have eaten here a few times out of convenience. Had dinner and breakfast. At dinner I was deciding between the funghi pizza and the snapper, which was twice as expensive. My bartender really pushed the snapper, going on an on about how flavorful it was, and I was concerned he was just pushing me to the more expensive item but I ordered it. Holy crap, he was not kidding. It was amazing, if you like intense flavor. It was crusted with all kinds of seeds and there were some that gave it an Indian flavor and then it came in this delicious hazelnut romesco sauce...so good. And cooked perfectly. Only downside of this dish was its small portion. For that price it really should have come with a starch or grain, like mashed potatoes or a bed of noodles, especially to soak up what was left of that sauce. So good. I knew I'd be hungry later so I ended up ordering the funghi pizza to go. It was eh. Of the things I've had the weakest. So, bartender, you were absolutely right. Then for breakfast I ordered the German oven cake with apple and goat cheese and, remembering the small snapper portion, ordered the small tasting portion of the eggs en cocotte. Too much food. But still glad I did it because both were really good. The German oven cake, though really tasty, is very thick and could get boring after a while so having a spicy egg dish with a forward harissa sauce really kept the meal interesting. The mushrooms in the dish were also a delight and added texture and umami. It was like an elevated shakshuka. My latte was fresh. Water was well filtered. Ambiance is cool - it has a vibe that's what visitors would associate with their idea of Texas but not at all over the top and it still has a contemporary if hipstery vibe. Definitely worth trying. read more

Could not say enough good things about the staff. Food and service was excellent. I travel alone by myself and eat at the bar alone quite often, unfortunately, had a very intoxicated man next to me and the staff was quick to make me feel safe and comfortable in that place, and took care of him very quickly. Came here for breakfast and I have to say of all the places in Austin during my week-long trip this is the best place for customer service. Don't get me wrong the food was good too! High quality, fresh, this is slow food....They took thier time to arrange a great breakfast menu and you're gonna need to give them some space to get it right - and they did. They have tapas offerings if you're not all that hungry. I went all in with the breakfast pizza. I didn't know that they would actually is pizza dough though. It works a a vehicle but I didn't desire the carbs....That would have been a lot of food. The eggs where cooked perfectly - it's possible to scramble eggs too much and it's equally possible to cook them to perfection - they nailed it. The pizza also had chunks of premium bacon....Not bacon bits....The good stuff. It was delicious! Don't get me started on the crab cakes poached eggs benedict with the fennel. Make sure you get some fennel in your bite. I wish it was player a bit more inclusive of the fenel...I didn't realize it was there until I was part way through. Remember, you should be able to eat everything in the plate. Toats worth it on the fennel. Good atmosphere, a walk away from major hotels in downtown Austin. I'd come back. Oh...They lost a star because I wish the menu was a bit more expansive. I think they sacrificed on that to make due for the buffet eaters staying in the hotel. read more
